  • The 3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner has reached almost legendary status. It has a rabid cult following with some models fetching seemingly unreasonable prices for their age and mileage. Its durability cannot be questioned however with some examples (including this one) easily reaching the 200-300k mile marker.
This truck is 26 years old this year, is about to cross 200k miles, and is a daily driver for its owner.
I take it for a spin through some of the more beautiful areas of Falmouth, Maine in this video.

Big thanks to Richard aka “Big Lamps Rich” aka “Big Business Rich” for letting me use his 4Runner for this video. Happy birthday buddy!

I love the styling of the 3rd Gen 4Runner, but it’s not the best 4Runner Gen for a number of reasons. It’s way under powered, you’d have to supercharge and even then it doesn’t have the power of a 5th Gen which too is also underpowered. it’s old, squeaks and rattle just happen, bushing all over the place need to be replaced. No Toyota safety sense, curtain airbags, MTS, the list is long. The 5Gen gets my nod but that doesn’t mean the 3rd gen isn’t hawt.
