Picked up the Astro asym wrap at the end of last season (couldn't find the full wrap anywhere), I've only managed a couple of days at a snowdome on them so difficult to really get them up to full charging speed, but so far they are insanely comfortable to ride that is for sure. The straps, the dampening, all top notch.
What up Avran, can’t express how much I appreciate these reviews and the amount of detail you put in. Currently been on the ride c-8s. Thinking about snagging those bataleon astros. How do they compare to the c-8?
Big issue is how damp they are. The footpad is bigger than the C8's and then there's the under dampening agents as well. The heel strap is a bit thicker too so you get a tad more power. Highback is equal. I do think the toe strap grips various boot shapes better on the Astro.
Where would the Atom sit in your list? I know they’re a stiffer highback, but with the asym chassis it makes them more freestyle focused? Almost like a bit cheaper but stiffer black label then?
I really think it would be a good idea to do an honest video review of the Clew bindings. There's likely lots of uninformed people out there who could really benefit from hearing and seeing the truth about the flaws with the product. Close, different high backs and the heel straps. Thicker material that’s a little “squishy” still aux tech but just more “padding”. They also don’t have the kink screw that the Romes have for adjustability. The footbed might be a little different too, I’ve noticed a slightly more rubberized footbed in the Bataleons
