    Don't feel awkward Max. In India people follow the rules "Atithi Devo Bhava" which stands for "Our guests are like Gods". Moreover Indore people are known for kindness, cleanliness and hospitality. Also it's known as Heaven for Foodies.

      @@mannyblackstar they do care. Indore people get charged huge fines for not maintaining cleanliness outside their own houses as well. My cousins live in Indore they wad charged 5000 for not keeping their main gate area clean.

      Yes it is! You'll never see a bulk of garbage or a spot of garbage collected in the corner of the area or people throwing trash anywhere! That's why we are India's cleanest city from past 5 years! Please take time to visit Indore! You won't regret coming here! However, you won't find much tourist spots as we have our speciality in food and hospitality!

      @@joshiyashi0701 Mai Indian hi hu, and I know Indore is cleanest city in India for quite long now and it’s a perfect example for all those people who blame the garbage in their cities on environmental conditions that India is very dusty that’s why it appears to be dirty. This thing should be adapted in rest of MP and in other states as well. Cleanliness attracts everything good. And I haven’t been to Indore yet but I’ll definitely give a visit, need to appreciate the discipline and people more closely.

    Hey Max, glad to see you in my hometown Indore. I have been living in the US for the last 20 years and absolutely crave Indore food. Indore has recently developed a reputation for being a clean city (wasn't always that way) and the effort that people of Indore make to keep that reputation is incredible.
    BTW, 56 Dukaan literally translates to 56 shops. In hindi the word for 56 is chappan so locally the place is called "chappan dukaan".

    I am from Indore, its my parents place. Currently I live in Gurgaon, but these kind of videos make me feel I should rush to Indore and try all these delicious things. I was there for 2 months in winters, looks like Max was there too during that time, wish I could meet him and made him try many more hidden gems.

    Since you asked what are ingredients in Khopra Pattice- main ingredients are freshly grated Coconut (Khopra in Hindi) & roasted groundnuts. Outer covering is of boiled mashed potatoes. Max

Its food is inspired by all the surrounding areas (Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, etc.) so it's a variety of amazing foods from all over, not to mention the people are very nice.     3:26 It's Hindi, not Sanskrit.
    Sanskrit is an ancient language which is spoken by less than 1% of Indians and now mostly used by Hindu priests during religious ceremonies. You might not find any shop's name written in Sanskrit. :)

    Kopra patties ( Kopra ie coconut ) that’s basically potato made crispy with some cornstarch with a sweet coconut filling in the centre.it’s one of the best things to eat at Indore.

    Chappan (56 in hindi) Bhog (food offered to God) is a special prasad consisting of 56 food items that are offered to the Lord. Hence, the food court/ market is called 56 dukan.

    Hi Max, Inside the patties its grated coconut which is mixed with spices, then its dipped in gram flour and fried. The green chutney is mint corriender & the red one is tamrind one.

    Khopra Petis (Pattice) is found only in in one shop in whole of of the world. It's simply grated coconut and dry fruits filled inside potato and deep fried.
