- Let’s talk about my favorite silver hoyas! Which also happens to just be all of my silver hoyas because I’m really bad at picking favorites🤭 This video is not meant to be educational or informational in any way, I am literally just geeking out over my hoyas because I love them so much 😆
I film with just my humble iPhone, so normally I have my screen mirrored while I film so I know what the video looks like, but for some reason that was acting up so I couldn’t mirror my screen, so I basically filmed blind. If some shots are out of frame, that’s why 😅 But I think I did pretty well keeping things in frame for the most part!

Tried to double check comments and make sure I didn't miss this answer already... sorry if I did 😅 Can you talk a bit about the differences between the mint coin, krohniana silver, and Louisa's silver?? I've been eyeing both lacunosa since seeing them on Instagram, but I also keep talking myself out of it because I have the krohniana already and think I'm just convincing myself they're "different". 😂😂
I think they are quite different tbh! I cant speak so much about the blooms, since I have only had krohniana bloom for me so far.
I'll try my best to explain it in words! I may also try to take a side by side photo comparison later on and post it as a community post!
* Krohniana - thick, heart shapes leaves. The "silver" is a very nice light green, kind of like... sage green?
* Mint coin - large and wide ovate shaped leaves, thin, color is similar to krohniana but with dark green speckles scattered throughout
* Louisa's silver - small leaves, thinner ovate leaves, has 'abs' (lol) and the color is more olive in tone than sage

I like that your collection is so curated, I’m starting to do that now. I like my Kerri and obovata so I have to have them all but they are quite big. Love your collection.
Thank you so much! Hehe that’s how I keep my collection on the slightly smaller side, I also find it helps me care for them all equally instead of accidentally neglecting some because I have too many! I have definitely learned to value quality over quantity the longer I’m in this hobby 🙂

I’m in sorta the same Hoya boat as you, silvery and splashy all the way and occasionally veiny or variegated but not a fan of all green usually 😅 I got my very first this week, three huge rooted publicalyx cuttings with tons of silver splashes and some leaves as long as my hand 😍 for a great deal too! I can’t wait to grow my collection to be as beautiful as yours 🤗🤗
Ah pubicalyx is such a classic!!! I saw a couple at my local nursery this weekend and was super tempted to get a pot for myself! I’m looking for one that has very high splash and silver though, so I held off for now 🤔

MA20 is an unexpected favorite of mine! I loved it when I first got it as a 2 leafer but as it's grown it has just gotten even more beautiful!! And thank you, I also really enjoy collecting cute pots and trying to match them to my plants! It's part of the fun for me 😆

leaf shape especially on the wilbur graves is so much dependend on the growing conditions. Mine grows round leaves but I gave a cutting to a friend (same plant) and her leaves grow long and slim :)
I love all your hoya maam beacuse i am a plant lover also ! But my plants mostly are those ordinary one !
I just got a cutting with 4 leaf im in cloud 9 i looove it the texture the leave is stunning

I need to take on your stance on only collecting and growing the absolute favourites - I am so easily swayed to keep a plant if they grow well. I wanna get my hands on that silver dollar, maybe once I get my handle on my other silvery ones.
Oh I’m still guilty of adding plants to my collection even if they’re not truly my favorites! It’s usually my budget and my other expenses that holds me back 😂😂 I’m sure you’ll get the hang of silvery Hoyas in no time! I’m still learning about my silver dollar too

So many stunning Hoyas😍 I’ve read that you can tell by the leaves if it’s a krohniana or a lacunosa. Lacunosa can have some heart shaped leaves and some different shaped leaves, while krohninana only have heart shaped leaves😊 don’t know if it’s correct
I think you are right, I have heard the same too and that's also what I have noticed with my krohniana and lacunosa! The krohniana appear to only grow heart shaped leaves for sure 🤩

I only have the krohniana silver and I love it. Would love to have more. Lacunosas are one of my favourits aswell.
krohniana was one of my first silvery hoyas too, and gave me the confidence and experience to try my hand at other species! I'm sure you will be surrounded by more beautiful silvery hoyas in no time! 😉

Have you tried fluval statum for you hard to root cuttings before. Im having so much luck... its a bit expensive but so worth it when you see the fast results.
Not yet, but it's high on my list of things I want to try! But you're right, it's just a bit on the expensive side so I've been holding off since I need to budget for a couple other things right now that take priority.. 😔 I've seen so much good results from others who have used it, so I definitely want to give it a shot in the near future!

Thank you so much for subbing!!! Hmm, unfortunately I am not too familiar with US sellers, since I mostly purchase from the Canadian market or I join group imports from Asia. I do know that 2 of the sellers that I have linked here are able to ship to the US! You might have to look into the import requirements for the US though to make sure you have the necessary documentation. I believe I have also seen quite a few well rated US based sellers on Etsy too, so maybe that's worth a look!

I get them from a variety of ceramic artists and potters! I seem to get this question quite often, so I think I'll be doing a little planter tour soon! I love cute pots and really enjoy matching my pots to my plants!

I get them from a variety of pottery artists so each one is one of a kind! I love collecting them, I see them as pieces of art. I'll share my favorite pottery artists and I plan to do a plant pot tour video sometime soon!
A few faves I can think of right now are Amii ceramics, From Tree to Sea, Klei Ceramics, Rain Ceramics, and Three Feet mudworks!

it's beneficial fungi, it expands the root network of the plant and therefore helps to increase nutrient uptake 🍄

I think the majority of them are in 3.5-4” nursery pots and I use the petite trellis for most of them 🙂 thanks for watching!

It's from a pottery artist in BC! Amii Ceramics. She does limited restocks online which she announces on her instagram page. The one I have was actually meant to be a drinking cup that I repurposed as a planter!

@@thebigcanoftuna her pieces are definitely more expensive than average!! Honestly I think I lucked out because I bought my pieces from her seconds sale, so they were significantly cheaper!! And I was surprised nobody else bought them, so I didn't feel rushed with my purchase either. I hope you get your hands on one of her pieces someday! Check out the seconds sale section! 😉

Would you say the lacunosa 'Mint Coin' is identical with lacunosa 'Full Moon' and/or lacunosa 'Moonshine'? Also, your lacunosa 'Louisa's Silver' looks like both lacunosa 'White Pearl' and lacunosa 'Long Leaves Silver' to me. It's getting more and more confusing ...
