Gi-hun and Sang-woo are both problem gamblers. That’s not uncommon among people born into rough situations.
is also a Koreans have a saying: “Sleep 4 hours, go to college. Sleep 5 and you don’t…”
there's also the implication that his father was a gambler
I'm surprised no one has commented this yet, but sang-woo states he is in severe debt. "After he started to work as an investment banker, Sang-woo became the leader of Team Two of Joy at Joy Investments, however, he embezzled money from his clients and tried to invest it in derivatives and mostly in futures. Sang-woo failed and lost all the money, resulting in a debt of ₩6 billion." He had put his mother's house and business stall on the line as well. He joined the games to make the money up for that and to not be seen as a disgrace and a failure to his mom/family. I think he has more severe debt then anyone else on the game.
Keep these Squid Games videos coming.
Great video. Obligatory comment for our algorithmic overlords.
To say Sang-Woo is a villain would be unfair, he's a survivor, I'd say Frontman would be better
In the situation of the show the only difference between "good guy" and "bad guy" is how cutthroat they are. After the glass platforms and marble thing he didn't need to push that guy off. It was an unnecessary death, instead of letting the game get the guy
Also we pretending like he didn't steal from his clients before the games?
They have yet to tell the rest of the story, since there is a S2 coming out.
@@Alistair102040that doesn’t make him a villain, just a bad person. A villain would be the Frontman
TBF weather we call othe people "villains" it doesn't matter. The simple fact is that them and other people in the show made questionable and downright bad decisions. The staff of the games are the most appauling yes, but the term villan as @gamerstheater1187 said, would ultimately go to the front man or the creator of the game. While their crimes if the staff where the most evil, it is worth noting that it does not make what the decisions that sang-woo or other players who made bad choices in the game any less bad. I find the term "Villaun" TV shows interesting, I would like to comedy this channel and this videos for sparking up real conversations on these topics, it really makes you think a bit doesn't it?
I feel like you should also examine Jang Deoksu. Honestly, one of the most underrated villains in this show.
Squid Game in my opinion is the definitive survival horror series.
Especially since players eventually adopted the "survival of the fittest" or the "kill or be killed" mentality. People who have nothing to lose can sometimes end up being the most dangerous.
If I could suggest a villain for a future video could I recommend,
Brad Wesley - Road House (1989)
Milo - The Last Boy Scout (1991)
Jerry Lundegaard - Fargo (1996)
or Arjen Rudd - Lethal Weapon 2?
Deoksu ;-;
This was a good character Hope you can do inside the mind of Bellows from the owl house And kiki moore From the Owl house Along with grant ward Some agents of shield Those were cool villains I would love to see what's aside those Villains minds They put good feelings in the shows I wonder what let them down these paths Avillanie What's their stories
Its Bellos and Kikimora
But yes Belos is really interesting villain to analyse

There should be a video examining Jang Deoksu here.
Btw, Sangwoo's name sounds like "sung-oo".
Now that you mention it, that’s a much better way to pronounce it. Perhaps I should’ve included a section for Deoksu here too.
Can you upload "All of us are dead" Main Villain, Yoon Gwi Nam?

Please ln the mind of A villain video on the haunted mask from Goosebumps
I'm not sure how long you would wait to cover stuff, but could you do a video about the High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3. it would be very interesting to see how you view his mind.
Can you Jasper from Steven universe
No, he should do Deoksu.
I appreciate the narrator attempting nuetrality;
But player 1 never died. All a RUSE!
True, perhaps I should have added the word “supposed” in referring to his demise to be more accurate.
I disagree with the idea he was a "villain", when your only options are win or die surely you will prioritize survival. The organizers of the games however...
Can you do The Shredder from TMNT 2003 tv show??
How can sang-woo be the villian?. He cares about his mother
Do Henry Evans From the good son please
With MaCauley Culkin??
Elijah Wood?
Man thats such an old old movie.
@Leonardo Braynen Yes it's a very good movie He should do him just because hes evil for no reason.
