When the elder came out I was not so enthousiastic, but somehow it grew and grew. I know now for years that it was a masterpiece and unique. An album which can be listened to forever.
Possibly THE song, that cemented my lifelong love for KISS. Back in the 70’s, KISS were absolutely untouchable. A lot of my love was sidelined when I discovered VENOM, and their debut album Welcome to Hell. It literally blew my mind.
This is such a badass version of an already badass song. In my opinion, this is the best rendition I’ve ever heard. It’s all so tight and the drums really elevate the song.
Awesome, the best KISS album. it would be great to hear it the whole with good sound of instruments and origin vocals. please, do all the album😀😀, Hernan
Those first three KISS albums had the right ingredients, but were lacking their true energy. Rock and Roll All Nite proved that once it was unleashed in Alive!. Most don't truly realize, or appreciate, the early contributions of Ace Frehley. That might have been done on purpose. Cold Gin is one of his best compositions. The Alive! version is awesome. It was kind of under a wet blanket on their debut album.
I Love Hotter than Hell. Raw and Pure. Production wasnt that great. Too bad they didnt Re record it around Love Gun era with modern at the time studio tech to make it sound clear and crisp. This is awesome. Thank you. Hello from Lubbock Texas. The Hot in the Shade tour started here .
Thank you! I do my best as I'm not a guitar player, I tried to capture Ace's essence as I think his version, the original one, is the best! Check my other covers in the list!
@trance9158 So, I grew up in that era. KISS was unheard of until KISS ALIVE was released. It was a well known fact that once people jumped on Alive. They rushed to buy the studio albums of Alive. When people realized how crappy they sounded. Sales dried up quickly. Every store had them on closeout. So what I'm saying is this person did a great job cleaning up the mess. The recording company failed so miserably to achieve. HELLO straight back to ya. My fellow KISS fan. There are interviews with Paul Stanley stating those facts...😉😉😉
Parasite and RnR All Nite caught my ear and I've been a fan till the dusc conversation then I faded some but never let go my favorite studio album was Dressed To Kill but the all time album is ALIVE I wore it out on my 8 track
No way Peter Criss would play drums this way. That, in itself, is one of the reasons the original recording was so good. Peter played TO the song, not above the song, much in the same way Ringo Starr played. Nice job but, I prefer the original recording.
Hi my friend! Not to be rude, but I really don't get it when I see comments saying I prefer the original version. It's just a cover song, I'm not trying to teach Paul Stanley and company how they should have recorded their own songs. When I play, I just do the version I like the most, in my case it's the Revenge era, simple as that. If my versions were better than the originals, I would not be responding to you, I would be touring the entire world in my private jet. This is just a cover song, just do not compare it, listen to it if you like it and just ignore it if you don't. I am just showing my entire love for Kiss by recording all these songs just by myself without any help from anybody, and I am quite satisfied with the result. Anyway, thanks for taking your time to listen to it. Just for the record, have you listen to the compilation Kiss released a few years ago re-recording old songs? Well, in that case I do prefer the original recordings, even though they were performed by the original composers, so even if they did not make it, I do not expect to be the one. Thanks!
So I loved KISS when I was a kid but outgrew the campy stuff by 1979 when I got my first taste of SCORPIONS/UFO /MICHAEL SCHENKER and ROBIN TROWER.My old buddy was gettin’ drunk tonight and started getting sad & sentimental about the old days.He sent me some KISS stuff and I started looking shit up. PARASITE was always one of my favorites…(MAKIN LOVE from R&R Over is a hot ticket too) Lo and behold I find this very interesting take on the 50 year old tune that just sent me time travelin’.Blew my-my- my -my- mind bruh! Thanks (from a Time Travelin’ 60 year old rock & roller!!)
A fart piece yes. It is one of the worst mixed and produced albums. It sounds like it was recorded in a tin can. Strange as the same guys produced and mixed the first album which sounds way better. HTH sounded so bad that the versions on Alive (even though heavily overdubbed) are far better
I respectfully disagree. While HTH is one of my favorite KISS albums and the songs are among the best they have ever recorded, the right producer could remix it while keeping the essence and feel of the album intact.
Perfection man did you do an amazing job wow!!!!!!!! I wonder what the 4 original members would say if they heard this?????????Great cover but i dont think Peter could have played it this well just my opinion Eric Singer not a problem List to Erin on alive 3!! No disrespect to Peter but he couldnt hold a candle to Eric Singer my 2 cents !! Amazing video thank you for your version !!!!!!!!!!!
The idea that Peter can’t play at a professional level is pure trash talk put forward by Paul and Gene. The stuff Peter’s posted to RUclips in the past year is proof. He can still play and play just as well as he always has.
Nice work but it goes to show that Ace was one of a kind...any good ear can distinguish how much more precise he plucked every note and how much more powerful his vibrato and bends were...even the intro is off compared to what Ace did. Ace's vocabulary was limited but he made every note count and that's what modern guitarists are missing. Like I said, nice work and excellent playing but great example of how good Ace really was.
Hi my friend, if you have limited Kiss just to the 70's, then it's logical you don't get this version which is inspired in all Kiss eras. I was more interested in the 90's version from the Revenge tour, so I was more inspired in Eric's drumming to record this. When it came the time to record the guitar solo I would pick Ace's version. I added a heavier personal way of playing it to make it sound more modern. That's the idea of a cover song, not comparing. If you need to listen to the original sound, the original vibrato and the original drumming, then I think you should put on Hotter Than Hell. Thanks for stopping by in my channel!
I'm a full blown kiss fan up to the revenge Era and I definitely meant no disrespect. I picked up guitar because of Ace and had to watch his demise over time do to his own fault. I guess I get over passionate about Aces parts because most everyone thinks he wasn't a very good guitarist.so as a guitarist of over 35yrs and ex shredder myself, I try and point out the things that make him one of a kind. Cheers
@travisbartram2943 Well, as you see I took the 90s version but I was mostly inspired in Ace's solo, that means that to me that I prefer Ace on top of anyone, despite the fact that I think Kilick is the best one technically speaking!
@HernanRios oh absolutely as does Ace 😉👍 but Nobody can replicate Aces chops? Gene said it's because Ace holds his pick wrong and plucks harder which I can see happening since I play more like you and Bruce too. I have a bunch of live and studio recordings under bartramtab on RUclips just so you don't think I'm a total snob lol
@travisbartram2943 By the way, I'm not a guitar player, I'm actually a drummer and know a little guitar and do my best on it, it's more sitting and practicing what I want to record than knowing what I'm actually playing.
the recording sounds great, but I prefer the main riff with the staccato notes like the original - that tail note hanging on isn't as clean or punchy as the original riff - it loses some of it's mojo when it isn't played right.
I dunno; I was prepared to dislike this, but it’s their actual voices that give this tune what it needs so I can enjoy it. I like the vocal performances on ‘Hotter Than Hell’ a whooole lot.
The whole song is great, but the drums blew my mind!!! Well done!!!💯😎👍🏼👊💫✨⚡️⚡️

Oh,,,Hell Yes!!! Kiss at their heaviest!
They are missing a few notes from the sound of it? Throws it off a little.... otherwise great production!
More please! Of the KISS original’s album ! Prehistoric KISS is the best sound! I’ll buy the CD 💿

Great cover 🤘🏻 Such a great song along with She and Watchin’ You .
Awesome.🤘
My favorite Kiss song even sounds better now, awesome.
que locura!!!!
fue como viajar a obras en el 94

Tasteful song and video.
Nice Tempo ... And an Authentic Rendition of Ace's Lead ... Those Original Vocals Really Make It Awesome ..! 😎👍
Thank you! I do my best as I'm not a guitar player, I tried to capture Ace's essence as I think his version, the original one, is the best! Check my other covers in the list!
Love it
Que lindo suena!!!!! Que gran laburo Hernán. Felicitaciones🤘👏👏👏
Hotter than Hell is my Favorite studio album from Kiss & Parasite is one of my top 10 Favorite Kiss songs.... You guys did it Justice here.
Thank you! Believe it or not, that album was what triggered this idea of re recording old staff with the original voices.
Nice how you stuck so close to Ace's original solo, tempo is tight drum fills are the icing on the cake
I’m tired of hearing that Kiss isn’t a metal band. This is metal at its finest
Some of the old stuff was... They've rarely crossed into that genre in modern times unless, you're counting their unmasked foray into hair metal.
I have heard some people consider Parasite as the first thrash metal song or at least proto thrash metal
Awesome Ear spank, man! Do Strange Ways with killer Ace solo next. 🤘😎🤘
Awesome sound and cover.🎶🤟🔥🎸🥁
Muchas gracias!
Well, you NAILED it! \m/
Personally. I think Save your Love is one of Aces's best songs.
And so underrated!
you need to re-record that entire album that sounds fucking awesome
This is A+, better than the original. Talented guy.
Omg... I want more KISS!!!

The dark sound is what makes this record amazing.
You should do COLD GIN. The original mix was always rather weak in terms of the guitar tone etc. A more "metal" sounding Cold Gin would be epic.
