Hi, i want to share with my progress of using Raspberry Pi 5 as Minecraft game server. I've created minecraft server (forge) with bunch of mods (like Create, Farmers Delight, etc.) and i want to say that it works like a charm. i Tested it with other players and their response was very good, no lag, no performance drop was spotted. Of course it is not likely to be used as main server but a server for friends which works 24/7 (it uses very little power) it's a good choice 👍
@@TheoHerbst Hi, i've created minecraft server using docker and docker-compose to create the container with specific parameters, i added additional 2GB of ram (1GB by default) and after that i didn't seen any stutter while playing, maybe you should also add more ram (of course if it's not the network problem 😄)
Hey jkingnick! I’m a 15 year old programmer and I would really like one of these nifty little devices. If you aren’t using one any more or anything, could you send it over? In return, I can program you a website, or help you with upcoming videos that include computer science related topics. Thanks!
A few tips for better performance and more reliability: Get a decent PSU and cable Get a USB power tester to make sure it's getting enough power and your keyboard isn't drawing too much power Use a heatsink and a fan to avoid thermal throttling
I actually used to play Minecraft on the raspberry pi daily, but I couldn’t get lunar client or gdlauncher running, but prism launcher worked and i still use prism launcher today on my pc because it’s just really good with mods
I also have a 3b, for minecraft i installed android OS, downloaded minecraft from the playstore and played that version, ran fine. Learned its actually the same bedrock version thats on the consoles so you can even play multiplayer with xbox players.
if you get that gaming pc case for it it comes with a m.2 drive slot. If you use that as your main boot drive it should run a lot faster because you r using a slow sd card. you would have to look up a video on how to use the m.2 for the pi because its not plug in play.
The reaction you had to needing to use a dongle for HDMI is why I still use my RP2/3 still…. The 4 I have runs a few server apps - but otherwise I just use the older ones because they hook directly to a TV.
@eggnog97 I never used a mod pack, all I did was the one craft texture pack and turned all the settings to the absolute lowest, then minimized the screen to only a window instead of full screen.
In my opinion and testing, 1x1 gives more FPS. Many more people would agree. It also could depend on your rig or settings, as well as shaders. I found it useful, so I decided and went ahead and use it
Dude for one you need a heat sink too put your raspberry pi in a case it protects the board from damage trust me it's worth it heck when I got my first I think it was third or fourth gen I built my own case for it so trust me it's not that hard
The case came with a heat sink and I installed it in my first Raspberry Pi video which was around a month ago if you'd like to check it out. Thank you though for this information.
That case only does 60 to 65 degrees I think if you get the ice plus. And a extra fan with 2 pin to usb you can get it down to 20 to 25 dagrees with high usage. Edit i did this and i can get around 50 to 70 fps but my raspberry pi 5 is custom i have 32gbs of ram
Dude I have one and I tried to game with it and ehh... it is good for basic games like minecraft but if you want it higher than 60 fps or, 1080p or 1440p it can throttle. I am planning to make a laptop with it so you can check it when I upload it.
i think the pi 5 can run minecraft pretty decently, the performance difference is insane
Yeah for sure
My lil 3B+ is feeling it’s age in 2024

May be my type writer can
Love the video!! If you set quality to 720p you’ll fps will increase by like 50%
Thank you so much! Yeah my next video using the Raspberry Pi, I will probably optimize it as best as I can.
Fun fact there is a entire version of Minecraft dedicated to raspberry Pi’s
It's an old port of the PE codebase that they just..never followed up on.

Ay that’s sick! Yeah this thing works great and I’m super happy with the performance I got with it. This thing is a beast for its size and price.
I did the same for a forge server, but only with a few mods and it had terrible rollbacks on a pi 5

Did you know the raspberry pi factory actually uses the raspberry pi for the robots to run and make the other raspberry pis
Pi ception
Pi packaging is actually great! the box is ESD resistant!
You should also try to make a Minecraft Server with the Pi3 or Pi5 and see how well it works :)
the piper box reminds me of the kano pc, such a unique little device
Agreed
usually the pi 5 has a micro hdmi cable included
It was just a box and I had to buy all the accessories separately. I’ve also watched reviews and none of them came with it.
@@Jkingnick that's weird, mine came with one and I got the official raspberry pi box and everything?

short answer:
yes, since the rapsberry pi system is a debian linux distro and mc java supports pretty much every linux distro (i think)
LETS GO MC CONTENT IS BACK
Haha yessir
If you are using obs as the monitor with the capture card , the capture card has delay thru obs its not the wireless mouse fault.
Oh that’s interesting. Thank you for telling me! I really appreciate it

bro a pi can single handedly run smoother than my pc. i mean yo thats good i have no complaints

get this man some more views n likes cmon he dropped like 200$ on this video for 500 views no way??

the actual fan and heatsink instead of the case fan in the corner

it makes a hell of a mc server thats for sure

Only 28k views? You deserve more
Ay man, this is the most I’ve ever gotten on a good video of mine. I appreciate it though and agree.
U can also add graphics card to raspberry pi 5
Amd cards seem to work with stability now so you can get major performance boost

the game at 9:00 looks like it has a vhs shader applied lmao
If you use optifine or install like sodium and all that, i bet you could actually play great

the best thing is that rasberry pi os has its own minecraft 😁
