The book of Proverbs is for wisdom, faith perfects patience and "faith comes from hearing the Word of God" (hence hearing Proverbs or any of the Word of God/Bible). WARNING: Mark 3:20-30 talks about an UNFORGIVABLE SIN like calling something false when it's actually from The Holy Spirit. I'm not saying The Holy Spirit can't make you speak another language but praying in tongues is BIBLICAL. "For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit." 1 Corinthians 14:2. Notice it says NO ONE understands them. "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. " 1 Corinthians 14:14, notice it says PRAYING in tongues. "Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and DO NOT FORBID speaking in tongues. " 1 Corinthians 14:39. It's not something you learn, yet The Holy Spirit gives this to us as a gift.

Reread the New Testament , this is not true at all. Speaking in tongues is still alive today, what the guy in the video did isn’t an example of it. You can speak in a heavenly language to Christ one on one if you are given the gift of tongues. But it isn’t suppose to be for your own glory like this guy is doing. No, you're absolutely right. Here's the thing. The holy spirit can't just move our tongues for us. It's all our free will we have to be willing to sacrifice all humility and then step out in faith and start doing it in the more you do it. It's a very powerful and underestimated gift because a lot of people don't understand it. I've actually been speaking in tongues since I was about 18 years old, I'm in my thirties now. I didn't do It much when I was younger because I didn't understand it's purpose. But when I learned more about it and the things that it could do, that's when I started doing it way more. It's a very powerful tool of intercession. I noticed with me, if I don't know what to pray for I just start speaking in tongues and things will actually start to come to mind, very detailed things and people. I'll even start to feel things shifting and moving in the spiritual side. I learned that it opens gateways to heaven and sends Angels out and all kinds of assignments, and it's in languages that angels can understand. But the enemy cannot understand. So it can also be like a secret code language. This is one of the many uses I'm sure, it also edifies one's own soul when we need prayer for ourselves but we don't know what to ask for.

1 Cor 13:8-10 tells us that the gift of speaking in tongues will (has) ceased. So nobody can speak in tongues. It says that this gift will cease when that which is perfect (the written word of God) is complete. Speaking in tongues was used as a boost to help the church grow after it was established UNTIL the written Bible was finished. And it has been for a LONG time now. I believe in the Bible, I believe in 1 Cor 13:8-10 when it tells me that the gift of speaking in tongues is ceased!

Ok I don’t think he’s teaching us how to speak in tounges but he said a prayer for those who are unable to speak in the language of the spirit and then by faith he prayed in HIS heavenly language that God gave him so he can pray with us. Hope that makes sense.

I truly don't understand how people say it's not Biblical. People, MANY times in the Bible it's spoken of the gift of tongues and YES you can be baptized by the fire of the Holy Spirit and YES you can invite Him to speak though you and baptized you. I speak two different languages and when i speak in tounges i can tell i'm not speaking either of those languages. I pray the scriptures in english and then as we are praying tongues will naturally happen. Ok so correct me if I am wrong. So in the time the church was worshipping a goddess in random gibberish and brought that style of worship in the church. So paul uses their claim of edifying them selves and uses thier claim against them. That's why he said thier claim against them first then says that " ok if your gibberish is edifying yourselves why would I speak in 10,000 words of gibberish than use 10 words of a prophecy ( forthtelling not foretelling ) to change the life of someone else. He literally told their claim first in their perspective then continued with why exactly you shouldn't speak in gibberish because they were mistaking this for the actual gift of tongues.He says maximum people to speak in a tongue is 3 with someone to interpret, he said that as a pivot because he knows it will never happen. It's like saying " if your gibberish makes any sense then translate that to make someone else edified" he says this as a joke because he knows no one will translate gibberish. And if tongues were so important then paul would have written to all the other churches other churches than in corinth. So why is this mentioned only to the church in corinth?. This is so awesome. I just prayed in tongues for the first time in my life because of this video. I just started repeating after his tongues prayer and next thing I knew my eyes were twitching insanely fast and I was going off on my own prayer in tongues. The Holy Spirit filled me and I just felt him. I can’t explain it other than just pure amazement.
I wish this is how it worked. You can’t just make it happen. I’ve only ever done it once. It took me 2 hours. I don’t remember a single except for waking and crying and everybody hugging me. It’s a beautiful thing.
I have closed my eyes and started asking the Holy spirit to come and give me the gift of tongues. Imediately I saw silabels, half transperant and started to slowly pronounce them as they come. It lasted about 5 minutes, and the same night I had a prophetic dream of the future, sea was receding everywhere and different unusual beings were to be seen because of that. When I started to wake up I had the Scripture Luke 21:25 in my mind. God speaks to me in Scriptures, I get a Scripture then come to church to hear that same Scripture or get an recommend yt video that talks about that Scripture. It is real. Speaking in tongues builds up the spiritual man. The gifts of God are irrevocable, says the Scripture. Once you receive it, you can always access it. Glory to Jesus Christ.

When I referred the original greek (Koine) bible that is greek the verse 4 says - και ηρξαντο λαλείν ετεραις γλώσσαις καθως το πνευμα εδιδου αυτοις αποψθεγγεσθαι. (Sorry, I had to look at the Bible and type - I'm not good enough in typing greek but I'm a good writer) It says when the holy spirit came upon them they started speaking other tongues - The tongues mean the other languages. You can notice that there were Parthians, Medes, Elamites, Inhabitants of Mesopotamia, People from Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Rome, Lybian, Cretans and Arabians had gathered ( Refer Verse 9-11) So it's a understanding that people from different places, different ethnicities, different races and different languages had gathered there. And when the holy spirit came upon them they started to speak in the language which the apostles were using (Refer verse 11). Or on basis of hypothesis we could say that the Apostles understood the other languages which the foreigners spoke. This is the power of holy spirit my dear beloved in Christ. Tongues are not the secret language between man and God. If God really want to talk to you he will talk to you in a way which you can understand like God did for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and in the new testament even god's messengers spoke to Mary and Elizabeth in the languages which they could understand. If it was a different language which only a subject could understand, then this bible would have been an incomplete book as the writers could not understand the conversations. Don't believe those who stand and pray in tongues just to seek attention. These kind of people are seen even during the time of Jesus. You can read Matthew 6:5. I would like to suggest you one thing - When you take a verse from a bible as a reference, please make sure to read the entire chapter and understand why that verse is written. When i was in prison god sent an angel and the day before i got released ive automatically started speaking in tongues for 3 hours nonstop hallelujah to that %100 an ever then ive been so kind to everyone people who stole from i forgave all of them and became besfriend and life changed 1000% something u gotten accepted where u puts u ether in prison or a cave he will always have your back if you got his back. He’s not teaching tongues. He’s asking you to step out in faith, open your mouth, and believe that Holy Spirit will pray though you. Even witches know it’s power in speaking in tongues. It’s a mysterious language that not even the Believer has access to understand. i never told this but I remember when I was in my room alone crying praying in my mind I had this very different feeling came to me and all of a sudden I started speaking in tongues and my eyes were blinking fast and the words were coming from my mouth for 2 or 3 secs and in those secs my feeling or body became numb and I felt very light and for some reason I got scared cause I never felt holy spirit that strong. i shouldn't have been scared but it was out of body experience.

It definitely is, I was baptized in the holy spirit and pastor/ elders tried to force it. Didn't happen, not until I prayed intensely for a certain someone in my family. They rejected it, I walked away and started walking up the stairs of my house...all of a sudden out of nowhere I fell to my knees and layed my head on the steps (felt like it was something or someone that consumed me in this unexplainable bliss) I was enveloped in peace. Lying their WHISPERING intensely but peacefully it almost put me to sleep, but it doesn't stop until its finished. It knows what you need at the appointed time...it's a feeling like no other. It only happened once, I still carry the gifts of tongue and only use it when initiated. There are fakes out there, no doubt 100% but I know this....the spirit speaks when it wants. Theres power in it and is not to be put on display. My kids (adult kids) ask me to do it but I cannot blasphemy the spirit. I can put on a show but that's not what it is. It's a gift and a gift to be used when the spirit initiates it. I've done it a few times, only when I don't know what to pray or speak out....(after all options have failed...the spirit speaks for you effortlessly!!) It's an experience like no other. No matter where you or what you've done it's there.....It never leaves you even if you are a COS member.

Church, I have a question as someone who grew up Baptist. I have been asking Holy Spirit for the gifts for a while now with no avail. My issue is there are different view points on the issue which is confusing to me. And the Holy Spirit as we know is NOT and NEVER WILL BE a spirit of confusion. Some charismatic circles believe that the spirit falls on you and the spirit is in control of you mouth and tongue (which I think most likely lines up with Acts). Then there are others who think you need to work on it yourself just like learning any other language. Why can’t the church have a definitive answer and viewpoint on this topic? The division is not good. Again confusing conflicting views and the spirit is not that. Help!
I am with you on this. I have been going to a Pentecostal church….I am so confused on this subject and you’re right if it causes confusion it’s not from God.
It’s a gift from God. He gives it in His own timing. You don’t get it because man says you have it. Let’s be cautious and seek God by ourselves and not through man. There are great preachers who have never spoken in tongues yet they do so marvelously in the Kingdom of God. You can desire the gift and pray for it but more importantly, WAIT for God to give it to you. God bless you.
Speech Dyslexia is Tongues . In our head we see the word or sentence but when we speak it comes out jumbled , like how a dyslexic person see's a word on paper . I have personally found Dyslexia to be a gift because it gives me the ability to read and write in Cryptic code too . I am still new to deciphering speech , but from what i picked up was . " Remember the last day ( or days ) Remember it , that memory __ ?__ so to say in jesus name ect... "

Why do ppl make videos like this and ppl in the comments blindly following suit. Firstly not all gifts were given to everybody, speaking in tongues is an actual language. It is one of the least ranking gifts as gifts are used to serve the church not self. It is better to speak in your language than to utter words in tongues if you or no one else can translate. It's time yall start reading the Bible for truth and not to satisfy your flesh!
Just a quick story time I want to share- my brother is extremely close to God, and he goes to a church where everyone but him and his wife speaks in tongues. I can’t remember if this was before or after his wife got the gift, but one day he tried to copy it while he was driving. He just started trying to copy word for word what someone else who spoke in tongues said, and he said that his mouth just closed. He didn’t do anything, it just snapped shut. Immediately he was like oh my gosh Hod I am so sorry I will never do that again. And now he actually has the gift! (From a separate experience not from copying don’t do that)

Speaking in tongues is not babbling gibberish like Pentecostals think, that’s ridiculous. The human originator of the Pentecostal church at some point declared that speaking in tongues was a sign of salvation and then the next day, everyone in their congregation could “miraculously” speak in tongues. Obviously it was all make believe. The gift of tongues is a real gift that is meant to aid the Church in evangelizing, it is not something that God gives us for private revelation. It someone uses it like that, then it is a false gift being created in the mind. Abandon this heresy and trust in Christ in his one true holy Catholic Church. Speaking in tongues is the gift to miraculously speak different languages. Peter spoke Aramaic and probably Hebrew, all of a sudden when he could speak in tongues, he could now speak Greek, and Syriac and probably other languages that helped him and the apostles lead the early church. I speak in tongues almost every day. I prophesied something. when i interprete my tongues it's not always prophesie.

How would one know if they’re speaking in tongues? Anyone can make up jibberish in their mind and make it sound alright, how can we know for sure it’s heavenly language? What I'm about to say is coming from a woman who didn't like hearing people speak in tongues nor ever wanted to speak in tongues herself until one day she decided to fast and pray and receive the gift of speaking in tongues. And then I was grateful for this gift. It really does draw a deeper presence of the Heavenly Realms to you. It is a beautiful and amazing gift to have. This gift can literally move mountains. And I'm learning that everybody who speaks in tongues their gift to speak in tongues in many different ways it's no different than art you got one artist that likes music you got one artist that use it to sculpt sculptures you got one artist that likes to use clay to make pottery or an artist that likes to paint. I had a recent experience with a teacher somewhere who prayed over a group of 500 people to receive the gift of tongues if they wanted it. After praying he asked us to raise our hands if we received the gift, and none did. He then said in anger, “really??!!!” And said we were going to pray again. Previous to this, he “spoke in tongues” and there was no translation, or interpretation. The Bible says this isn’t how it should be. It shouldn’t be chaos, where we are all talking over each other praying in just a crazy unorganized way. I felt the Spirit tell me to stop raising my hands to the air like he told us to, and sat down. The leaders in our church told us that they were praying protection over us. (This wasn’t our church, our church group just came to a church for an event). You can’t force the Holy Spirit to do something for you. You cannot command him, but he commands you. In this moment the room was chaos filled with people all around speaking gibberish and talking over each other while this teacher began to interpret people’s visions.. he brought a pride about himself. Moral of the story is to know your bible and God will give you discernment to know what is right and wrong. Our church all recognized afterward something was off, and it wasn’t right. Speaking in tongues is a gift only to be given by God. We can pray if we want the gift, but we aren’t necessarily just going to get it by doing so. It’s a God controlled instance, not a man decided issue.

It's a very powerful and underestimated gift because a lot of people don't understand it. I've actually been speaking in tongues since I was about 18 years old, I'm in my thirties now. I didn't do It much when I was younger because I didn't understand it's purpose. But when I learned more about it and the things that it could do, that's when I started doing it way more. It's a very powerful tool of intercession. I noticed with me, if I don't know what to pray for I just start speaking in tongues and things will actually start to come to mind, very detailed things and people. I'll even start to feel things shifting and moving in the spiritual side. I learned that it opens gateways to heaven and sends Angels out and all kinds of assignments, and it's in languages that angels can understand. But the enemy cannot understand. So it can also be like a secret code language. This is one of the many uses I'm sure, it also edifies one's own soul when we need prayer for ourselves but we don't know what to ask for.

Ok so correct me if I am wrong. So in the time the church was worshipping a goddess in random gibberish and brought that style of worship in the church. So paul uses their claim of edifying them selves and uses thier claim against them. That's why he said thier claim against them first then says that " ok if your gibberish is edifying yourselves why would I speak in 10,000 words of gibberish than use 10 words of a prophecy ( forthtelling not foretelling ) to change the life of someone else. This is so awesome. I just prayed in tongues for the first time in my life because of this video. I just started repeating after his tongues prayer and next thing I knew my eyes were twitching insanely fast and I was going off on my own prayer in tongues. The Holy Spirit filled me and I just felt him. I can’t explain it other than just pure amazement.

I have closed my eyes and started asking the Holy spirit to come and give me the gift of tongues. Imediately I saw silabels, half transperant and started to slowly pronounce them as they come. It lasted about 5 minutes, and the same night I had a prophetic dream of the future, sea was receding everywhere and different unusual beings were to be seen because of that. When I started to wake up I had the Scripture Luke 21:25 in my mind. God speaks to me in Scriptures, I get a Scripture then come to church to hear that same Scripture or get an recommend yt video that talks about that Scripture. It is real. Speaking in tongues builds up the spiritual man. The gifts of God are irrevocable, says the Scripture. Once you receive it, you can always access it. Glory to Jesus Christ.

When I referred the original greek (Koine) bible that is greek the verse 4 says - και ηρξαντο λαλείν ετεραις γλώσσαις καθως το πνευμα εδιδου αυτοις αποψθεγγεσθαι. (Sorry, I had to look at the Bible and type - I'm not good enough in typing greek but I'm a good writer)
It says when the holy spirit came upon them they started speaking other tongues - The tongues mean the other languages. You can notice that there were Parthians, Medes, Elamites, Inhabitants of Mesopotamia, People from Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Rome, Lybian, Cretans and Arabians had gathered ( Refer Verse 9-11)
So it's a understanding that people from different places, different ethnicities, different races and different languages had gathered there.
And when the holy spirit came upon them they started to speak in the language which the apostles were using (Refer verse 11). Or on basis of hypothesis we could say that the Apostles understood the other languages which the foreigners spoke. This is the power of holy spirit my dear beloved in Christ.
Tongues are not the secret language between man and God.
If God really want to talk to you he will talk to you in a way which you can understand like God did for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and in the new testament even god's messengers spoke to Mary and Elizabeth in the languages which they could understand. If it was a different language which only a subject could understand, then this bible would have been an incomplete book as the writers could not understand the conversations.
Don't believe those who stand and pray in tongues just to seek attention. These kind of people are seen even during the time of Jesus. You can read Matthew 6:5.
I would like to suggest you one thing - When you take a verse from a bible as a reference, please make sure to read the entire chapter and understand why that verse is written.

i never told this but I remember when I was in my room alone crying praying in my mind I had this very different feeling came to me and all of a sudden I started speaking in tongues and my eyes were blinking fast and the words were coming from my mouth for 2 or 3 secs and in those secs my feeling or body became numb and I felt very light and for some reason I got scared cause I never felt holy spirit that strong. i shouldn't have been scared but it was out of body experience.

It definitely is, I was baptized in the holy spirit and pastor/ elders tried to force it. Didn't happen, not until I prayed intensely for a certain someone in my family. They rejected it, I walked away and started walking up the stairs of my house...all of a sudden out of nowhere I fell to my knees and layed my head on the steps (felt like it was something or someone that consumed me in this unexplainable bliss) I was enveloped in peace. Lying their WHISPERING intensely but peacefully it almost put me to sleep, but it doesn't stop until its finished. It knows what you need at the appointed time...it's a feeling like no other. It only happened once, I still carry the gifts of tongue and only use it when initiated. There are fakes out there, no doubt 100% but I know this....the spirit speaks when it wants. Theres power in it and is not to be put on display. My kids (adult kids) ask me to do it but I cannot blasphemy the spirit. I can put on a show but that's not what it is. It's a gift and a gift to be used when the spirit initiates it. I've done it a few times, only when I don't know what to pray or speak out....(after all options have failed...the spirit speaks for you effortlessly!!) It's an experience like no other. No matter where you or what you've done it's there.....It never leaves you even if you are a COS member.

Church, I have a question as someone who grew up Baptist. I have been asking Holy Spirit for the gifts for a while now with no avail.
My issue is there are different view points on the issue which is confusing to me. And the Holy Spirit as we know is NOT and NEVER WILL BE a spirit of confusion. Some charismatic circles believe that the spirit falls on you and the spirit is in control of you mouth and tongue (which I think most likely lines up with Acts). Then there are others who think you need to work on it yourself just like learning any other language.
Why can’t the church have a definitive answer and viewpoint on this topic? The division is not good. Again confusing conflicting views and the spirit is not that.

It’s a gift from God. He gives it in His own timing. You don’t get it because man says you have it. Let’s be cautious and seek God by ourselves and not through man. There are great preachers who have never spoken in tongues yet they do so marvelously in the Kingdom of God. You can desire the gift and pray for it but more importantly, WAIT for God to give it to you. God bless you.
Speech Dyslexia is Tongues .
In our head we see the word or sentence but when we speak it comes out jumbled , like how a dyslexic person see's a word on paper .
I have personally found Dyslexia to be a gift because it gives me the ability to read and write in Cryptic code too .

Just a quick story time I want to share- my brother is extremely close to God, and he goes to a church where everyone but him and his wife speaks in tongues. I can’t remember if this was before or after his wife got the gift, but one day he tried to copy it while he was driving. He just started trying to copy word for word what someone else who spoke in tongues said, and he said that his mouth just closed. He didn’t do anything, it just snapped shut. Immediately he was like oh my gosh Hod I am so sorry I will never do that again. And now he actually has the gift! (From a separate experience not from copying don’t do that)

The human originator of the Pentecostal church at some point declared that speaking in tongues was a sign of salvation and then the next day, everyone in their congregation could “miraculously” speak in tongues. Obviously it was all make believe.

I’ve heard a language in my mind lately and I’ve never heard it before, I haven’t said it out loud because idk if I can. What is it?
There’s nothing that can be said to get through to someone like this. They’ve convinced themselves that they are endowed with a “gift from God” and use it for their own ends.
Toungues is not for everyone and is not bad having that gift or not.
Everyone has its special gift, and together we come to form a melody, a body adding with our unique gifts given by God :)

@@micah5_2 Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13 that these kind of supernatural spiritual gifts will cease so don't believe everything you see on youtube. Besides that: speaking in tongues meant speaking in human languages one never learned - the Apostles needed the gift to spread the gospel to the gentiles. It was never some sort of "gibberish" as all these people claim it to be.
After I prayed to the holy spirit,I felt the sensation in my body.

What is the purpose of this? The gift of tongues was used to help those who spoke a different language to understand by speaking to them in the language of their understanding. This ensures no one understands.

1 Cor 13:8-10 tells us that the gift of speaking in tongues will (has) ceased. So nobody can speak in tongues.
It says that this gift will cease when that which is perfect (the written word of God) is complete.
Speaking in tongues was used as a boost to help the church grow after it was established UNTIL the written Bible was finished.
And it has been for a LONG time now. I believe in the Bible, I believe in 1 Cor 13:8-10 when it tells me that the gift of speaking in tongues is ceased!

What I'm about to say is coming from a woman who didn't like hearing people speak in tongues nor ever wanted to speak in tongues herself until one day she decided to fast and pray and receive the gift of speaking in tongues. And then I was grateful for this gift. It really does draw a deeper presence of the Heavenly Realms to you. It is a beautiful and amazing gift to have. This gift can literally move mountains. And I'm learning that everybody who speaks in tongues their gift to speak in tongues in many different ways it's no different than art you got one artist that likes music you got one artist that use it to sculpt sculptures you got one artist that likes to use clay to make pottery or an artist that likes to paint. Listening to people give there two cents on what speaking in tongues is and isn't people who have never spoken in tongues or don't even tap into the spirit to understand it I don't pay them any mind it's like somebody who's never played a piano a day in their life nor has the gift or Talent inside of them to do so giving a Pianist cues on what keys to use and how to use it and what it is and what it isn't. This is why people who truly don't understand this gift need to shut their mouth. That's it that's all that's the post.

I didn't ask for the gift it just came on me when I was fasting and praying and trying to tap into the presence of God and I started speaking in tongues. It is a language that is a language of the Soul it is a light language a Angelic language. It is a language that helps you get spiritual downloads and other information. It isn't just translated on the spot when you are speaking in tongues you're getting different spiritual downloads. And other things that are moving in the spiritual realm. Like I said people who do not have that gift don't understand it. There is even a way you can write in light language and your naked eye won't even understand the language written your soul would understand it though and if it's meant for you to understand you will. Not everybody is made to understand what's being said even the Devil Himself don't understand the language. And you want to know why because it's created and designed for everybody not to understand it. If I'm speaking in tongues and whatever I'm saying whoever it's meant for their soul will pick up on it. So if that gives you the answer of interpretation it varies. It can be interpreted by who's meant to understand what's being said. If you don't think speaking in tongues is legit I advise you to go on RUclips and look up scientific studies on it. They actually study people who speaks in tongues and what happens to the brain when you speak in tongues. There is also a book that is called 120 benefits of speaking in tongues.
I have no reason to sit up here and fake in tongues especially when I once dreaded the thought and idea of it ever happening. Before I myself understood what it was I used to be uncomfortable around people who did it because I didn't understand it. People like to talk shit about things they don't understand. When the truth of the matter is everything ain't for everyone to understand. If it was meant for you to get it you would get it just because you don't understand it doesn't mean people have a right to judge and demonize and criticize people for it. People really need to mind their business and stop bothering those of us who have this gift and people who are meant to understand what we are saying they will pick up on it everything is not for you to get every message that's being spoken in tongue is not meant for you to understand. In all honesty I am sick and tired of defending this. You want to sit there and talk about people who don't understand speaking in tongues or if there's an interpretation. I've been speaking in tongues for a year now when you have the gift you begin to grow with the gift and begin to understand how it works and when you're around other people who speak in tongue especially when they've been doing it for years we tend to learn from those who are more seasoned in the gift. But I tell you one thing I'm not going to sit up here and do is keep arguing with people who don't have the gift and don't understand the gift. If you have a problem with people who speak in tongues take it up with the Holy Spirit she is the one who gave it to us. Why you got some people who are frauds that's not the case with me. And when you are truly tapped into the spiritual realm you can tell who the fake and real ones are. How about you get your discernment sharp before you worry about those of us who speak in tongues. That's a gift from the Holy Spirit I think a lot of you need to work on is your discernment.

Faith is the amount of Gods word in your heart. Start memorizing bible verses that counter for every specific doubts.
I thought that not everyone speaks in tongues. This is what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians.
Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
I think speaking in tongues is like everyone saying The Lord’s Prayer at the same time in their language (English, Spanish, Haitian, Porteguese, etc) & the interpretation is clear

I had a recent experience with a teacher somewhere who prayed over a group of 500 people to receive the gift of tongues if they wanted it. After praying he asked us to raise our hands if we received the gift, and none did. He then said in anger, “really??!!!” And said we were going to pray again. Previous to this, he “spoke in tongues” and there was no translation, or interpretation. The Bible says this isn’t how it should be. It shouldn’t be chaos, where we are all talking over each other praying in just a crazy unorganized way. I felt the Spirit tell me to stop raising my hands to the air like he told us to, and sat down. The leaders in our church told us that they were praying protection over us. (This wasn’t our church, our church group just came to a church for an event). You can’t force the Holy Spirit to do something for you. You cannot command him, but he commands you. In this moment the room was chaos filled with people all around speaking gibberish and talking over each other while this teacher began to interpret people’s visions.. he brought a pride about himself. Moral of the story is to know your bible and God will give you discernment to know what is right and wrong. Our church all recognized afterward something was off, and it wasn’t right. Speaking in tongues is a gift only to be given by God. We can pray if we want the gift, but we aren’t necessarily just going to get it by doing so. It’s a God controlled instance, not a man decided issue.

The true definition of tongues is a literal language, it was used to let other language speaking people know that God is truly present, when someone of a different culture started speaking your language you knew that there was a spiritual encounter taking place. As it explains in Acts chapter 2, when the day of penecost came there came a sound of heaven and a mighty rushing wind came and filled the house where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues of fire, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in other tongues for the spirit gave them utterance. This is praying in the spirit, it is the Evidence of the Holy Ghost and being baptised by fire. Not literal fire, but the fire of God that permeates our impure flesh and carnal mind. Tongues is our communication with the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost knows no language created by man, and tongues is an unconcious utterance, that when our minds are set on christ our spiritual man(who God initially created us to be) is given freedom to speak. And as for the gentlemen who chose to give attitude to the gentleman who was only trying to encourage people in the Lord. The bible clearly states, "Ask, and ye shall recieve". You are suppose to ask the Holy Ghost to baptize you by fire if you wish to recieve it. He is not wrong in asking you to repeat after him. I pray that you can become more sensitive to responding to other brothers and sisters in christ. If this were demonic, he would be in a trance-like state, as an entity would be speaking thru him. This is "his" tongue to spirit, and he is controlling it. Tongues are different for everyone who speaks it, and just because a person can pray in tongues, does not give them the ability to interpret the tongues of others. However! Use Discernment in your spirit to realize this is prayer. These words are only for him speaking to spirit, to only be interpreted by spirit, yet felt by us....
