Im imagining an alternate universe where Maphilindo was a success and became a global powerhouse. Sad it failed as people value their pride for their country instead of looking for a unity.
Malaysia is a islamic monarchy, Indonesia is a Republic (secular) and Phillipphines, is just a Christian Republic that already shown how it wont work well
As the Nusantara Empire believer, this is what I think : > Gotta blame Bri'ish for taking Malaysia and Singapore from the Nusantara Empire. > Gotta blame Spanish, Portuguese, and US for taking Phillipines from the Nusantara Empire.
Fun fact: I'm actually one of them and "malay" means consciousness in Filipino lol Perhaps my Filipino tongue affected my pronunciation of Malay, but yeah even in Indonesian Google Translate Malay is somehow pronounced "Malai" xD
I'm Sarawakian, i think we also need recognise too, Dear malaysia.... We want to be independent sovereign nation pls, or declare as a Country inside a Country if you don't mind

if they are under a federation capital in Labuan, i see a good view to their future, if not. then yall are gonna get oppresed and partitioned by Indonesia and Phillipphines
_Malay_ is an English word for "Melayu", So it is pronounced just like how you say "Malaysia" in English, not Malai. Also, _Penang_ is an English word for the state "Pulau Pinang", so it's also pronounced like an English word Pee-Nay-ng. My question, Is it common to pronounce Malay as Malai in the PH? Even in the phrase "Jose Rizal the Pride of the Malay race"?
We say Ma-lay not Ma-ley. But if you say Malaysian, we say Maley-shan. PS. How to differentiate e as shua? Example: Selamat is Salamat. Sometimes, I read e as Uh as safe.
Indonesians,Filipinos and Thailanders ask this question everyday

Nah i think even maphilindo did success, they would not last for a long time then would broke apart since colonial difference
MaPhilIndo becoming a success is as possible as Musollini reunited the Roman empire and having it lasts as long.
It'll be Yugoslavia of the east so for the sake of my country, nope

Basically:
The Briish divided their land into territories.
Those in the territories became nationalists.
War.
Independence.
