Hull Fair Tallest Ride 2012 Starflyer EPIC my Grandma is the coolest Grandma EVER! funny

It's back! I live in London now but I still go to Hull Fair it is an unwritten law! As is going to Bob Carvers chippy and getting all the food and sweets that are possible. I went with my family this time and I was totally shocked when my Grandma asked me to go on the tallest ride with her! So my Grandma has been on the tallest ride in the country HOW COOL IS THAT!? She loved it and was glad she went on it, she also went on the Horses afterwards! me and the rest of the family are in shock!
As you can see from the video the view from the Starflyer the tallest ride in the country is just amazing. It was a lovely clear day and I could see for miles and miles. Taller than the big wheel at 250 feet the Starflyer gave better views. It is not at all a fast ride but the height is epic and unlike the big wheel where you are cocooned in bars of steel... on the Starflyer just eight chains let you fly through the air. Even in the bungie ride you have all these bars restricting the view but not on this ride..... also the seats are soooooo comfy!
When I explained to my Grandma what RUclips was (I said its like telly on the internet) she was fine about it and didn't mind. For obvious reasons on this vido all comments are screened this is my Grandma after all and dont want stupid people making stupid comments.
The arrival of this ride closed roads into hull and needed a crane to build it. Anlaby Road is usually grid locked as the fair takes over the area. Walton Street is closed as that is the street that is lined with food trailers etc. The Starflyer can be seen as far away as Hessle Road fly-over and Clive Sullivan Way.
The Starflyer has been seen at London South Bank as a travelling ride. What next for my Grandma? Who knows! 120.000ft Sky Jump from space? Watch out Felix Baumgartner!

Yeah I still go to 'ull fair. I live in London now but still go every October :) That ride is brill you can see for miles but I dont think it would be much fun in the rain lol

The seats are really comfy and secure feeling, I didnt need to hold on while up there, it is windy, and it is best to use a camera with a hand strap as I did. I am only using a cheap Argos camera. Is is a strangely mellow ride really despite been suspended by a few chains its nice to see the views... probably not the best in the rain though! Thanks for the nice comment :)

Its actually quite a calm ride, best during the day so you can see everything, at night you might see a lot of lights... I suppose if it is raining it will be the worst! lol

I see that this ride is going to Winterwonderland at Hyde Park in London this year.

It was £3 per person which is not too bad for a new ride, the bungie ride which isn't as high and is an old ride is still £10! We didnt go on that! If you go early a lot of the rides are only a pound, thats why we go as a family during the day =-)

you're braver than me, I live in kent now, but spent the first 8yrs of my life just 2 streets from hull fair and the last time I managed to get back for hull fair was 2010, I would say to anyone its the best fair there is and once you've been its in your blood, also I think it breaks laws in hull if you don't even try bob carvers and come away with a teddy and brandy snap lol
