- Virginia pulled off the massive upset win over No. 10 North Carolina on the road, 31-27. The Cavaliers were led by running back Mike Hollins, who accounted for 3 of his team’s 4 touchdowns on the night. WR Malik Washington also had a game to remember, as he accounted for 115 of Tony Muskett’s 208 passing yards and scored the other Cavaliers touchdown. Tar Heels QB Drake Maye threw for 347 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss, while Omarion Hampton had 112 yards on the ground.

Huge win for UVA, played like the best team on the field and took the win back to Virginia with them.
Not a fan of either team, but this is beyond egregious by Mack Brown and that coaching staff. At home as a "top 10" team, favored by 23.5, and playing the team that may very well be the worst Power 5 team in the country. Perhaps now, all the talk about Maye being a Heisman hopeful and UNC being a "dark horse" for the CFP will cease. It became clear as last season drew to a close that Maye had put up solid numbers against weak competition but lost multiple games down the stretch when he faced defenses with a pulse. This is truly one of the worst losses of all time for any team purported to be "top 10" caliber.
Mack is a good coach, but not great. Texas finally found that out.

I remember when all those UNC fans were talking shit about how NC State barely beat Virginia a few weeks back, yet tonight, that Heisman Pretender and Company, lost to Virginia on their own home field. You just can't make this shit up😂
You notice you don't see any clips of the game on Face Book, but when Duke or N.C. State lost Carolina fans came out of the woodwork to slam them and ridicule them !!!!!!

Well at least you admit it with "we", so I can Respect that---I've been around Carolina Fans My whole life----And one thing that always amazed me is that when Carolina Wins=We Won & when Carolina Loses=THEY Lost!---And if their team is Losing they hit the Exits(Football & Basketball) like Rats deserting a Sinking Ship!---My Fav was Carolina BB, in the early 90's & they were at Home vs. NC State---Carolina had an Impressive Team & Ranked No. 1 & State was a 7 point dog & State Won!--Another time in the late 90's, I had great seats to a Thursday Night FB Game---GT @ UNC -- Game Tie or Close at the Half--GT Receives 2nd half Kick, Runs it Back & about the end of the Third Quarter, Keenan Stadium was getting empty---I took my 5th grade son to that game as He was a Carolina Fan---Of course we stayed for the whole Game---at the end the shuttle service was non-existent--that's the way they Roll---Nobody can Dispute that Vibe either!!--All due respect to their Sports Program, However, a huge number of their Fan are absolutely just outright Sore Loser Whiners! I'm gonna take my ball and go Home esk!! 'cause they Never played a sport in their lives!

not a north Carolina fan or even a fan of any team in the acc. this is exactly why the same teams win the natty every year. it doesn't matter how good a team is or looks. it seems that if you're not georgia, bama, ohio state, or any team that is on that level, you're capable of choking hard.

Sometimes a team wants it more than the other until it’s too late, also teams like people can have a bad day. A loss isn’t the end of the world unless if the team who loses can’t let it go.

Arguably the most inexcusable loss in UNC football history. The students didn’t show up, the fans didn’t show up, the players came out flat, and the coaching staff allowed UVa to run the football down UNCs throat and refused to run the football themselves despite having success. A complete system failure at all levels. Just unbelievable.
The crazy part is, I know everyone wants to focus on the hold. However, UVA had a two turnovers in the endzone, if both of those are just field goals than they win by 10 and if both of those drives ended in touchdowns UNC doesn't just lose they get blown out of their own building. Can't trust this defense, can't trust Mack to do anything other than complain when an L would really mean something, and it's great that Maye threw for all those touchdowns, but I would like him to hit more than 50% of his passes a game

I'm not a UNC fan, but the kid throws lazers, has a strong arm and is accurate. He also isn't afraid to stay in the pocket, has confidence in his reads, and lets his looks develop past the first read. Thats above most sophomore capabilities and you can't expect a sophmore QB to win a game by himself when the defense wants to give up 31 to a 1-5 team that turned over the ball twice for free in the endzone and your coaching on offense can't make the right calls to finish a drive. No reason a team with 347 passing yards, 143 rushing yards, and averaging 6.4 yards per play should have trouble scoring, that's the coaching making the wrong calls when it mattered.
After watching the UNC vs Miami game, this did not surprise me. UNC gave up big plays and let Miami put 31 points on them. If UNC had won vs Va, they would have lost to someone else down the road. I think UNC will lose 2-3 more games.
I don't see how UNC had a 10 ranking with the cupcake schedule they have . I thought a ranking that high you have ot have played top ten teams !

Duke has only one loss and if they beat UNC head-to-head, which is very possible, then Duke will play FSU in the ACC championship game. Drake Maye may be a better pro QB, Riley Leonard is a better college QB. UNC fans are hilarious.
