- The #4 Seminoles continued their dominant run in 2023 as they defeated the #16 Blue Devils, 38-20. Florida State has their first 7-0 start to the season since 2014. Quarterback Jordan Travis had another fantastic game completing 27 of 36 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns, and also running for 62 yards and another score. Wide Receiver Johnny Wilson caught eight passes for 53 yards. For Duke, Riley Leonard started the game, but had to come out due to injury in the second half. Running back Jaquez Moore ran the ball 16 times for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Your exactly correct. That was the difference in the second half. It opens up the running game for the backs and the passing game also. Just gotta stay healthy and not take unnecessary hits when he runs.

Probably the most complete game we’ve played since the opener against LSU. Showed a lot by hanging in because after that first quarter things weren’t looking good at all
When I first started watching FSU football as a kid, my father always told me we were a “second half team” and no matter what players are on that field it always seems true, you can never count out the seminoles till that clock is out of time!!!
Same with me growing up and I’m 38 now and we r still a second half team. Crazy
As a Duke fan, I’m proud to have played the way we did. We have never led against Fsu before, and last night we showed we’re gritty. We don’t have the talent yet, but I’m sure we’ll get there.

Duke took a big gamble playing Leonard and lost big time imo. Especially since UNC lost today to Virginia... Now Leonard will be hurt for another two weeks. Tough break man, he's a heck of a quarterback. Happy my Noles won though!
Leonard wanted to return to the game, but his head coach said NO! Now that's the kind of coach I would want a son of mine to play for.

That Duke RB is a ROCKET. That first TD was really impressive. I was worried for like…..a minute or two.

It was a good run but Cypress took a terrible angle. #1 thing you learn as a corner starting in pop is you never get on the outside. Always force them back in. Hopefully he learned from it.

It looked more impressive than it was. The refs missed Duke's #77 holding Fsu's #4 that allowed him to get around the side.

I saw it live, I was like here comes the bs refs against FSU early. That was a blatant holding penalty that gifted then an early TD.
Good thing we have a very good team to overcome it.

Last year Florida State,down 10 on the road ,beat Louisville with a back up QB the whole second half of the game. I don't wanna hear "OnlY iF LeOnArD dIdNt gEt HuRt".
Leonard got hurt with like 4 minutes left in the 3rd.. he had 69 yards passing and I forgot how many rushing.. he wasn't really doing anything before he got hurt.. it was the rushing attack.. we are a second half team.. he wasn't doing anything before he got hurt.. plus they gave him that bogus ass penalty to help keep the drive alive when we sack him on 3rd down when he got hurt

And if I’m not mistaken in the game, I believe we had about three of our key players come out of the game, with injuries, Jordan Travis, Jared verse, and somebody else I can’t recall, but I believe we lost about three players, and we lost players on both sides of the ball.
Refs called 2 holds all day on Duke. There should have been atleast 5 more

Total nonsense talk about Riley Leonard going out of game was the reason FSU won Need to stop. Leonard stats were a non factor, he doesn’t play defense. Tell me exactly what he did to affect FSU defending and scoring. He did nothing, accept the loss and give credit where it’s due.

Refs missed so many calls. They were completely out of sync. ACC refs have been horrible all year but Jordan has been spectacular all year.

Hats off to duke for how they competed in this game but maybe its just me but that first td they got he seemed like the ball landed right outside of the endzone
Each of Duke's big runs including the first TD was a result of clear missed holding calls. Each play the player attempting to keep outside containment was being held...granted the player could have been in better position but 4 or 5 missed calls where the action was taking place is too many.
From inside Doak last night , yeah some bad bad calls missed but that’s football man

I believe fl state will unleash Travis for the playoffs. Jordan has been chilling lately and not taking off with the ball but the moment he does it's going to open up a lot of other plays along with the run game

The rush up QB sneak is really not a good play for us. Our offense is so dynamic and you are essentially screaming what you are doing to the other team. Then the 4th and 1 run up the middle from shotgun was bad also. Travis has to keep that and run for first down. The game was much closer then it should have been but I’m glad we pulled away in the 4th.

JT should've would've easily made the marker had he gone to the wide open left, instead charging behind his left tackle.

Giving up big special teams plays in an otherwise competitive game is just a back breaker.
Duke played a whale of a game against Florida State for about three quarters. In that 4th quarter the defense looked totally drained., hands on hips, and exhausted stares into the expanse of the field as they labored to the finish. And with Riley further injuring himself, it was just a bad look all the way around for the bluebloods. Duke's going into the next game extremely beat up and with little time to recover from this bad loss.
The Game was over once their QB got hurt..
The whole reason herbstreit gets a hard on about FSU losing, is because the School and Seminole tribe will not cave to renaming the University.
