I am left stunned at the eloquent way that you speak about this. It was like I just listened to a masterpiece on beauty and elegance in life. This is my passion to always live this way. You put into words that I now understand why I feel this way. Thank you so much.
Such a profound and critical presentation of a topic that needs to be part of the curriculum in every mosdos today. We have largely lost much of this sensitivity. Stunning lecture ! Yasher Koach to Rabbi Friedman for this !.
You presume that it's not part of the curriculum. It's not only "orthodox", a misnomer, that could benefit from this teaching. Everyone can. Who wouldn't be included?
Rather refreshing lecture modesty and intimacy go hand in hand if a person is following your lectures I try to dress modestly and find I actually get alot of compliments and my dresses and skirts I usually try to wear a little hat and people say they like my style I think on one of your lectures you emphasized individuality it’s not that hard to cover one’s elbows and knees and still look good Thank you rabbi Friedman for gently reminding us
@@nomorecensoringme Is there something wrong with supporting women who have been abused and oppressed in your opinion? And don't go there about feminism. I'm not the new feminist type. I'm the old style. I can't understand comments that don't really make much sense. I'm trying to see where you're coming from, but can't. Don't you think the women of Iran are brave? I think they're amazing..the same as the brave sisters who serve in the idf. Brave women indeed. And no, I'm not a man hater either. Just to assure you. Shalom
Being modest isn't being 'religious'. It's having a respect for all aspects of "life", for your human physical form, your wallet (that others might lack), other people's feelings, and on and on, as RMF said. What all that adds up to is a profound appreciation for the details of our existence. I'd say you probably have that to some degree, whether you think of it or not.
Women wearing black solid stockings and long sleeves in summer is NOT a sensitivity to others. It’s called suffering. There is a line where I have to look out for my own self before I am sensitive to others. It is simply not healthy to live life for others while negating ourselves. I love yiddishkeit but this upsets me. My inner heart tells me this way of dressing in hot weather is not Gdly at all. Maybe the Rabbis need to rethink this. It’s unholy to ask women to live this
**Well, I try to downplay my good looks when I can. I get noticed anyway. Even when I don to be. If I were “white” I’d very likely be compared to the Goslings, DiCaprios or Pitts🤓
@@the2ndcoming135 Noone needs to be compared to them, white, black, yellow, etc. Their qualities are the important aspect of them not the superficial optical view of them. There are many stunning black women. Beauty isn't "white", nor an ethnicity.
You quote your limited resource since that's all you have. No "accepted" extrapolation of the text. You're left to "fend for yourself" as it were with the teaching. Judaism has a rich bounty of accepted resources. We're not "quoters"like that except to begin a discussion, who h leads to more indepth comversation-debate.
What a pleasure to listen!! Thank you my Rabbi. Thanks be to God🙏

Yes, This helps me understand modesty much better.
Thank you for sharing this talk, Rabbi Friedman.
The best way to explaining this subject 👌
Thank You

Thank you Rabbi! Great way to start the morning!
Yet, have always been very conscious of those around me not to offend or embarrass myself or anyone else ...
is the level of appreciation for life B"H
I've heard a few other talks you've given on modesty. This expands on them in a wonderful way.

everyone must be beautiful with neat and clean face
My heart goes out to the brave women in Iran. They are strong. I am a wimp compared to them. Thank you I'm being blessed by these teachings.
Your idea of "strength" doesn't match mine. Nor does your idea of 'bravery'.
@@nomorecensoringme I don't think it's a case of matching anyone. I'm happy enough not doing that and just being me

Explain this to someone drowning in the deep end of the pool. You are correct sir
No wonder I am not religious...

If we don’t keep modesty for others but for ourselves- then Halachas regarding how we eat should not be for others either..

NOTHING IS WRONG IN THE EYES OF GOD - AS IT IS ALL HIS!
That's absurd.

Absolutely - FOR THE HUMAN MIND!

YES - TEMPORARILY AS THE HUMAN MIND TURNS IT INTO A TOOL FOR ITS OWN SATISFACTION PRETENDING TO BE GOD HIMSELF!
What if I give charity to an imposter?? Will Hashem still appreciate my charity?
You’re supposed to just give without begrudgingly doing so. What they did with your contribution is on them.
@@the2ndcoming135 Yeah, I think you're right, thanks!
NO - ETERNALLY IT IS A TOOL IN THE HANDS OF GOD ACCORDING TO HIS WISDOM AND FOR HIS PURPOSE!
