How gracious and kind. This video is just warm and welcoming. I have a friend who is an observant Jew, and we have been friends for some time. His grandmother would answer any questions I had about Judaism and what is required. I once asked why it is forbidden to eat certain foods. She replied that it is because the Almighty says DO NOT EAT OF IT, and that is why. She always smiled when she explained things. Your smile reminds me of her. Be well.
Many people don't know that Christians study the Old Testament. Throughout the OT we read that God has laws and precepts for his people to follow specifically to set them apart from the other people groups who did not worship or honor him. The God of Abraham is a jealous God who seeks to preserve the holiness of his people--holy meaning consecrated to God because he has promised a Messiah who will come to rescue his people. Christians believe that Jesus is that Messiah. Jews believe that Messiah will be a political leader who will reunite his people and bring peace to the world. I think the main reason Jews resent Christians ( yes, they do) is that we claim what Jesus said, that he came to fulfill the Mosiac and Noahic laws. Following these laws given by God and the precepts set forth by the Rabbis who created the Talmud is what Judaism is. And, yes, your friend's grandmother is exactly right. When God says don't do it, we shouldn't do it.

It is just wonderful to start the day with this video.These mitzvos in which you describe shows how intelligent you are.I really like the mitzvos of thinking about G-d everyday and prayer. I personally believe that thinking about G-d on a daily and regular basis could be one of the best things that we can do. If we as individuals focus on the things of the world and our own lives instead of G-d, we can build a lot of stress which can ruin the peace that we want to have in our daily life. Prayer is such in important element to have in order to have a personal connection with the creator of the world. I really think that with prayer we would understand and know how much G-d loves us even when life seems tough and struggling. I think people that are in the process of converting to Judaism should really watch this inspirational video. Awesome video and many blessings Chana!

You have helped me to embrace my mistakes and forgive myself whilst I learn and enjoy the journey. I do not mind that I will give up the things I have bought as they are just material and they help me to practice. Things do not matter to me, I do it because I love HaShem. You have also taught me that I do not need to be perfect whilst learning, thank you Chana 😊
You definitely don’t need to be perfect! This came to my mind, I’ll share with you… last week was my birthday and my kids surprised me in the morning by cleaning the whole house! I was so THANKFUL, they put in so much effort, and they worked together and they were so happy!!! It made me so happy and my children are so sweet BH. And that’s all that matters, and it doesn’t occur to me AT ALL if it wasn’t a “perfect” clean. And that’s how Hashem feels when we do something for Him!
On another note… Can you set aside the plates and cups and cutlery for later? You might be able to re-kosher them afterwards. Glasses are very easy to re-kosher. ❤️

Thank u kindly :) I've been so humbled learning about the Jewish people, and the faith they cherish and follow. I have such respect for Judaism, I want to convert but live in a small town, and have such distrust towards church congregations these days, I do not attend. I watch Rabbi Joseph Misarachi and Rabbi Alon Alveno (I'm sure I've misspelled their names, plz forgive me). Love to listen to their Torah teachings!! Learning about the Jewish religion has truly saved my life and made me understand how Ha'Shem is in control, and it is His to decide what happens. I feel He has been testing all of mankind based on our own deeds, words, and thoughts towards others. Questioning if we live for ourselves or for doing our best to follow God's ways. Most people call me crazy, others just get so angry with me for learning about Jewish people, God, the Torah, even the Bible. It's sad how closed peoples minds are these days. Is it possible to convert online? I just try to live according to God's ways, be kind, treat others the way I want to be treated. I pray thanking God all the time, like the Rabbi's say, even the air is Ha'Shem's decision who gets to breath it, now that's the humbling truth isn't it? I find RUclips to be an amazing source of info, and I'm so thankful to be able to reach others this way! You can serve and worship G-d, right now! But it's another level to want to worship G-d, as a JEW. So I would say keep on learning, because when youre ready to contact a rabbi, you will already know a lot, and this will help you in the long run! Also, no, you can't convert online. Community is very important, so if you are not living near a Jewish community, you will have to move, much like Avraham did as you start your conversion. Wishing you much success in all you do! what about hair covering and modesty? I find that incredibly comforting on my conversion journey. I find that covering my hair reminds me that Hashem is always there with me. Plus I'm going through a divorce and don't want to be seen as available.
That is so special you connect to that mitzvah and you find comfort in it, and are using it for a holy purpose!
I always felt I was Jewish but am afraid to do the dna ancestry type kits because who knows what they do with the samples. Your videos are informative and from a woman’s perspective, beautiful. You are blessed! ♥️

You can do any Mitzvah you want to. ( Rambam Mishnah Torah, Hilchos Milachim)
Hi, hope your well? I’m a big fan of your RUclips content as I’m currently on my own conversion path at the moment so I was wondering if you could help?
I’m hugely interested in becoming orthodox however the closest orthodox synagogue to me is a two hour walk so on a Saturday it wouldn’t be practical for me to do that. That is the only thing stopping me contacting an orthodox Rabbi.
There is no chance of me moving closer to the synagogue either as I have a daughter and a wife who’s lives and family are rooted where we currently live.
Do they allow vehicle travel on Shabbat in special circumstances?

Hi, thank you so much! Once you convert and become Jewish, there will be no driving on Shabbos. I’m giving you my husband’s email because he is much better at explaining the details about moving locations than I am. Also you should know that this is the top #1 question we get from people, so so many people who convert to Judaism have to move, sometimes even having to move out of the country in order to become Jewish. There are definitely ways to convert and change locations, and do it wisely so it works best for everyone in the family. I'm ethnically Jewish, and grew up doing "weird" (my Catholic mother's words, not mine lol) things that ended up being inherited from my nana, who was brought up Catholic when her (Jewish) parents immigrated to the U.S., specific things *she* learned from *her* parents. Not eating certain foods, having super strict "no tech/family time" on shabbat (though we didn't call it that, or really notice the foods we had been told were gross and unfit to eat were referred to that way because they weren't kosher), I don't think I'll ever be sure what is and isn't okay to do until I formally convert, but I'm glad there are some things J just shouldn't do, yet, since I didn't grow up practicing Judaism Thank you for posting!
Hang on a minute… did you say your mother’s mother’s mother was Jewish?
Why would you 'convert', as such? It sounds as though you're already Jewish by descent.
Question: I have a cousin who converted to Judaism; and, for the most part, she keeps all the Kosher food laws. However, from time to time - like at a family reunion or something like that - she will eat what her non-Jewish relatives are eating - whether it's pork or shellfish or whatever. My question is: when a Jewish person (whether it's my cousin or anyone else) breaks one of the food laws, 1) how big of an offense is it to God; and 2) is there a ritual she must do afterwards to bring herself back into a proper relationship with God?
There are no real heretics nowadays. To be a heretic, or apikores in Hebrew, one would have to know all kosher food laws, know exactly just how holy it is, and make an active, fully conscious effort to go against Hashem. This doesn't exist now. There is something called "teshuva," which means "return." Teshuvah corrects all, that's it. And it could take years, or a single moment.
Thank you for your inspiring video. There might be different opinions, even amongst orthodox Rabbis, of which mizwot you can keep before conversion is completed. There is a renowned Rabbi in Israel, Shlomo Raskin, who gives brilliant Schiurim in German via RUclips. He, for example, suggests that you can follow all mizwot in your private home before conversion is complete, but you don´t have to, and you shouldn´t start with too many from the beginning.
Rabbi Raskin suggests to start mindfully and one by one. For example with morning and evening prayer; if one is very serious about his/her conversion and it feels good for them, they might even buy tallit (and for men tefillin) and use them at home only.
Anyway, your suggestions seem a good start in my view. Todah lecha!

How soon do you think it’s okay to start wearing a Kippah and peyos.
There is nothing wrong for non-Jews to have peyos or wear a kippah. At the same time, you don't want to other people to mistake you for being Jewish, which might be confusing. While going through the conversion process, officially the rabbi who is converting you will tell you when it is time to wear a kippah and grow peyos.
Regarding keeping kosher: when we do convert and need to lasher our kitchen, what if we simply cannot afford to?
You wouldn’t kasher your kitchen until after you convert, right away. If you foresee the financial strain, try saving up during your conversion. If you still cannot make it work, tell your converting rabbi and see what he says.

I have a question...If someone doesn’t belong to Judaism yet, but found out to be a Jew by blood line (matrilineal line), could he perform mitzvot like keeping Shabbat or putting on tefillin, because however he is already a Jew, even though he’s not converted yet? Technically it could not be a real conversion (even if he was of other faith), but a "Baal Teshuva". Is it correct?

Being Jewish is an eternal covenant with G-d, that is passed down through the Jewish mother. So whether a person practices a different religion or not, that person will always be Jewish if the mother is Jewish, or if you can find a chain of Jewish mothers. And if that person decides to return back to G-d, they can always perform any mitzvah (Shabbos, tefillin, etc!) They would be a baal teshuvah, not a convert. There is a gray area that I do not understand, called anussim. Meaning, they are 100% Jewish, but since their family for generations has been practicing another religion, they would go through a conversion. (This I do not know much about, though I know the concept exists, and I do not know how often, if at all, it is practiced.) Either way, a Jew is a Jew! And it is your birthright to do mitzvos! Hope this helps.

For Lubavitchers it would still be the Rebbe, since there has been no Lubavitcher Rebbe after him, and his teachings are very much relevant and adhered to

A sojourner is not Jewish, and so doesn't keep the commandments, but all sojourners need to keep the 7 laws of Noach.

The English translation is confusing. If a Jew has a servant, then the servant needs to be circumcised. In those days, a servant was a different kind of servant than what we think of nowadays.

respectfully I disagree with this, I am in the process of converting and have been told by my rabbi and several other rabbis to live a full jewish life. I am told by them that men can't wrap taffin and people in the process of converting can't be part of certain services at temple but my kitchen is kosher and I keep shabbat and celebrate every holiday.. and I havent gone in front of my beit din yet..

There are 7 Mizvot of Noah. This is a perfect path for any non-Jew to achieve salvation and heaven. There is no need to convert.
Of course there’s no need to convert! Noahide is a beautiful path! But there is an elite and very genuine few group of people who desperately want to be part of the Jewish nation and it’s okay to give them some info :)
and make their life difficult for decades to come for no reason...I feel for gerim. Their desire is often so strong and pure, however, as far as channeling it is concerned - if given a viable alternative of which they often either don't know or don't know enough they could enjoy their newly found spirituality without all of the strain that Jews have to take upon. In short, it would do world more good for gentiles to become Noahides and use the remaining energy to change the world instead of koshering the kitchen and limiting themselves where there is really, really no need. @@JewishEducationatHome
Don’t forget those 613 laws you have to keep wow Judaism sounds so difficult but really is it’s too bad that you have to be under the law I mean the law is good if you keep them all but no juice keep all the commandments may maybe a few I don’t know, but Christianity is much better believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting him for salvation not in your own work cause you know you can’t work your way to heaven and you can forget about it Then you’re really not sure where you’re gonna go when you die so this lot of uncertainty and it’s very sad and in the Judaism and in that bondage but anyway, you seem like a nice young lady, but why do you guys young kids have to interject the word like into sentences were it’s not necessary to say like I don’t get it Lack of a decent vocabulary maybe?
You’re either a slave to G-d or a slave to the world…. also we do know where we are going and it’s to a good place, but the focus is on this world, doing the good we can HERE, making the world a more G-dly place. :)
