    I'm so glad you did this video Ksenia! Your mum seems like she's getting well again and for Dima, it may be slow going, but the Datcha is coming along nicely now. Food to sell and eat, relax in and enjoy your cat! Special!!

    Nice! But wouldn't it be lovely for the ducks if they could swim in the pond and not being couped up in that small space all the time? No offense! Just an animal friendly thought! Have a great time!

    What a lovely place. And I'm, once again, impressed with your brother's skills. That welding job in the external shower was very neatly done. And all the rest of the works he is planning... He is a true renaissance man ! He can do anything. You and your mom must be very proud of him. Please give him my respects.
    Also, I'm glad to see your mom is enjoying the garden. I hope she's finally doing well now.
    Enjoy your vacation!

    Hello Ksenia,
    As soon as I started watching this video, I noticed immediately how much more relaxed and at peace you look being at your family datcha.. You are so pretty Ksenia ! 💐 it is good that you have this place to go to get some fresn air, and be more connected to nature, and enjoy the greenery from Dima's & your Mother's vegetable garden. It was nice to see your mom outside enjoying the fruits of all of her labors in the garden and with the ducks . What pleasure that must bring her and Dima.. I am so impressed with what I have seen on RUclips in regatd to the datcha gardens that Russian families are able to grow. I ttried growing a small garden last year in my backyard and by the time the growing season was over my water bill was so expensive that it would have been less money to just buy the vegetables rather than grow them myself. Your are lucky to have a pond and can use that water on your garden. I love the outdoor shower Dima built, he does very nice work. How does he fill the water tank ? Is the pond naturally fed water from an underground spring or did Dima create it himself?
    Sending you peace, joy, and love from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

    Someone there is a true craftsman. The metal work is impressive and the construction is creative. The shower is rather 'open'... do you notice many drones in the area when you are in the shower? :)
    Plumbing... this b is silent (like Cyrillic b). Pronounced plum-ing. Crazy English.

      Sadly, Belarus received about 70% of the radionucleotides from chernobyl, some of which are still in the ground today, like stronium and caesium so all their food is radioactive as well as the dairy and the water. This is why so many of her family members had cancer and some were working at Chernobyl.. the cancer rate and birth defect rate is very high in Belarus.

    seems like these datcha's are just houses built from junk in the suburbs on small pieces of land where everyone wants to play farming. Why not just build a proper house/cottage or buy a prefab or just park a trailer. for toilet i'd install a septic tank. For water either dig a well or add a water tower. I don't know about the duck thing and roughing it, just buy meat and barbque.

    Great Update! Outside Toilet in the US we call them an "Outhouse" because, well, it's outside... I live in an 1890-1915 farmhouse in Washington State US, we do the same thing with projects, when we get money, we do them, Budget, Budget, Budget. Lots of great progress on the Dacha! My house was built before insulation, but it has exterior walls and interior walls with a 6 inch air space, in 1995 I had insulation blown into the airspace, it did a little, but then in 2019 I found "foam board" it's a building insulation that comes in 4 foot X 8 Foot sheets 2 inches thick, I covered the exterior of the North and West sides with this. I am saving over a $1,000 a year in heating costs! It doesn't look very good, but I can't afford it to look nice and cost more to heat. Again great update!

    Thank you for the new video, Ksenia. How is your mother's health? I know she was undergoing treatments a while back. That is really a beautiful outdoor shower! Very nice. When you turn a 3 season home into a year-round home, we call it "winterizing." The process of winterizing walls is called "insulating". I think your progress is excellent, and people should not judge. Many people take years to complete renovations on their primary homes, too. Their camps can take a long time, too. "Camp" is the equivalent word for dacha for many Americans. Do you save money raising your own meat ducks? Some people do that in the US but chicken and duck in the store is so inexpensive that it often doesn't save any money. Of course, it's nice to know that the meat you eat is raised humanely too.

    • @StPetersburgme
      @StPetersburgme  Год назад +1

      My mom is well now. She sees her doctor every 3 months. Raising poulrty is not cheaper then buying meat at stores, because much money goes for duck food ets. But my mom knows that no antibiotics were used, and meat is more natural.
