    Hello!
    In your mold-making video, you discuss the cap-sprue having an issue where the 1's faces had mold marks. Could you explain please why those marks are in the face of the dice? I thought it would create flashing above, but it seems to take pieces of the face out. Sorry if this is off topic, just wondering since the video is a bit dated and I wondered if you had a fix!
    Thanks!

    Love the channel, can you drop a link to a video using the vinyl to wrap a D20?

  • @lilyayora

    I'm not sure it would work with Resin, as I don't know the particle size, but technically you should be able to wrap your blanks and then mold them, and transfer the holographic effect to the mold, since it's a physical effect!

    These dice are to die for, oh my! Have you tried using prismatic security vinyl for on windows rather than the Cricut vinyl? The effect might be different since it's semi-opaque but it could be a good alternative design and a little bit cheaper.

    These look very beautiful. You mentioned your very old mold. Do you know how often you are able to use your mold before it's time to throw it away?

      It definitely depends, and I tend to go more by appearance/feel of the mold than counting castings. Generally however I’d say I get around 20 castings from a mold, maybe a feeeew more if I’m really stretching it

    Beautiful! Can you explain a bit how you do this for the rest of the dice which arent as uniform as the d6? Do you have to use a lot more pieces to get the vinyl flush with the faces, or do you just crumple it down? The d6 looks pretty straight forward but I imagine the others would be more of a pain to cover

    • @dreamy_dice
      @dreamy_dice  11 месяцев назад

      I definitely will! To be honest I filmed almost all the dice, but I thought it was too long/redundant and the d6 was just the one in frame for most of the shots 😅 Wrapping the other shapes is very easy, and the video I’m working on now uses the same vinyl, so I’ll definitely show wrapping some of the other dice!!

    This whole time I thought this wouldn't work because, for some reason, I thought the texture that makes it holo would be on the outside of the mold so when you then added the second cast it would completely negate the effect.
    I feel so silly for not trying sooner. 😅😅😅😅

    Do you know of any other holographic vinyl that isn't a raindow?

    • @dreamy_dice
      @dreamy_dice  11 месяцев назад

      I think most holographic effects strive to have the full spectrum of color, but if you’re looking for something without that dichronic film/mylar might work!
