    I have a doubt: to make cloud dices, can I substitute alcohol ink for translucent pigment? I'm from Brazil, it's very difficult to find alcohol ink here and the delivery takes a long time buying it from the internet. I love your videos and I learned a lot with them. Could you accomplish the cloud effect with mica or or some other thing besides just white?
    Also I'm curious, what does the use of alcohol ink accomplish over using just normal translucent ink? Do they mix better or, is it just the colors that you like?

    Your dice look soo pretty, I have made a squish mold for a chunky d20 but always end up with voids forming after pulling it out of the pressure pot even though I mix carefully and degass as much as possible. I would really appreciate any tips to avoid voids forming on the 1 surface? I am going to give the cap mold with reservoir in your other video a shot but would still like to get the most out of my current mold.

    • @J0nnyTheJ3w
      @J0nnyTheJ3w 7 месяцев назад

      Voids on the surface are usually from surface tension issues. Mold release should help with this - you can either buy some mold release spray, or use a little vaseline on a q-tip and rub it into the surface of the mold. If you're getting voids on the top face of your squish mold, I suggest putting some resin on the top half of your mold, and rubbing it in with a popsicle stick or a gloved finger. This will help break up any surface tension there and prevent air from getting trapped.

    I do have a question; in the past, when my partner tried to make custom dice, he had a sticky finish problem. It was recommended to us that we use a thinner resin, and not cap the molds until the resin has rested. Especially since we live in a hot climate.
    What would you suggest to thin the viscosity of the resin? Is it as simple as a different brand?

    • @dreamy_dice
      @dreamy_dice  2 года назад +1

      Honestly this depends! There could be a number of factors. Was the silicone mold made/cured properly? If not that could be a problem. What resin were they casting with and what type of silicone was the mold? Some resins encounter “cure inhibition” when used with certain types of silicone. Was the resin mixed at the correct ratio for the correct amount of time? Often cure issues in resin relate to one of these two factors (or both) being off. Could also just be the type of resin!

    Hey, sorry to bother you, but I got a set of Pixiss inks and they're pretty awesome. However, I'm having an issue where the pinks and purples all oxidize / burn while curing and turn orange and brown. Yours don't do that? How do you keep your pinks/purples from burning / going gross? I'm using Dr. Crafty resin, rather than Art N Glow, since it's what I could find.

    • @dreamy_dice
      @dreamy_dice  7 месяцев назад

      My suspicion is they’re just incompatible with your resin. I’ve never heard of that brand before, but especially if it’s faster curing or gets really hot it’ll increase the likelihood of burn

      Large glitter will sink (even if it doesn’t seem large) unless you take a bunch of steps to try to suspend it, like flipping your molds. I pretty much exclusively use Brea Reese’s Iridescent liquid glitter or microfine glitters because I don’t like dealing with sinking.
