    I don’t know why but I was hoping the kit would be moulded in orange plastic! Probably best that it isn’t of course. I think I’ll have to get one of these.

    Hi Gary. I suspect the decal you thought was an octane warning around the fuel filler cap is actually the speedometer. In the real car, it was a very simple affair.

    Hi Gary. A "Smart" before it's time. 70mpg they claimed. I was temped when I saw a "Robin" based kit (in about 1984 at Castle Combe kit car shuw) with the bug shape and 4 (!) wheels, but it never became commercially available (boo hoo).
    I like the tax disc, a nice touch, but a pity it isn't moulded in orange plastic just like the real thing. That would have made it easier to build for the younger audience.

  • @bugler75

    I really don’t remember this kit as a kid and I had to google to see if it was a real vehicle or not.
    I didn’t really understand everyone’s enthusiasm for it nor the eBay price of one.
    Until now, that is.
    I want one !!!

    'You can have it in any colour, as long as it's orange!'
    Quite pleasantly surprised at the inclusion of the chassis detail for a kit of this age. It's a pity it's not to 1/24th scale, though. That would give it more parity with Tamiya/Hasegawa car kits, particularly Tamiya's range of classic British subjects such as, for example, the Lotus 7, Europa and Mini's.

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  Год назад +1

      Use the Airfix spares process - email them spares (at) airfix.com, give them the information they need and I got mine delivered two days later, no charge at all. I think this is a common fault in one batch of Bond Bug kits so they are on the ball with replacements.
      You'll need your name and address, contact phone number, where and when you purchased the kit, the part number (part 32, rear panel, step 7 in the instructions) and the numbers on the tiny label on the box - normally on the back.
      Best of luck!

    For once with Airfix, this kit doesn't look all that bad for its age. Sadly it doesn't look like the upper body is movable. Can't see any hinge mechanism on the instructions. I assume you can just not glue it down so it can be taken off to show the interior. I did laugh at the side of the box though. One paint call out for the figure lol.
