An ESPN writer lost his job over that. He wrote an article titled "Ch*nk in the Armor" (properly spelled - I'm trying to dodge YT filters) after Yao Ming had a poor game. He was young, and claimed he'd never even heard that that was considered a racial slur. Dunno if that was true, but it points out a serious flaw with shaming people for using such words. The more we succeed in exterminating usage of slurs, the more people will grow up not knowing that they're slurs. Which means more people will innocently use them, only to be wrongly crucified by the political correctness police. The methodology is flawed because the more it succeeds, the more innocent victims it creates.
