WB AND Sony’s abuse of the characters that they just so happened to own just makes me even more supportive of independent studios (especially indie cartoons) and Austin McConnell’s Superzeroes which is a cinematic universe made up of forgotten public domain comic book characters. It’s only just gotten started with a couple books he wrote and movies still in production with one trailer just coming out.
I think I know what it will be. The same guy who directed Kraven will be directing a Zelda movie and a Naruto movie (both live action). If anyone you know is a Naruto fan or a Zelda fan, reach out to them when they drop.
@CubeytheawesomeI feel so bad for all the Zelda fans who smoked copium for years that their adaptation was gonna be good. This is like holding your thumb out to see how safe you are from a nuke.
I've heard that Tom Holland actually filmed a cameo for the 2018 Venom film, but Marvel Studios forced Sony to delete the scene because at the time it wouldn't have made sense. Up until today, I've heard that Sony "legally couldn't include" Spider-Man in any of their spin-off films because of the back-and-forth licensing deal with Disney/Marvel Studios. But now what they've revealed that they always could've included Spider-Man in their films, it makes me wonder why Sony decided to momentarily take Spider-Man out of the MCU in 2019 in the first place if the IP handling was never really an issue.
Sony took out Spider-Man in 2019 because they wanted a better contact where they get more money In the previous deal Marvel only got the merchandising rights and 5% profits while they produced the films and Sony kept rest of it. Marvel asked for producing and keeping 25-50% of the movie's profits which Sony didn't like who wanted to continue the previous deal
The guy responsible for sewing Deadpool's mouth shut in X-men Origins Wolverine moved from Fox to Sony in 2019 and wanted more money from the contracts with Marvel. Look up Tom Rothman and his crimes
I’m not convinced that the “legally couldn’t include Spidey” bit is wrong, to be honest. Hollywood lies all the time to confuse the facts and hide their true motives.
I have no idea what Sony is doing at this rate. Doing everything they can to keep the spider-man IP. Thankfully they realized this was hurting them financially
Oh. So Sony actually does want to risk pissing off their fans even more than they already have. Lowkey they have balls of Adamantium to even make a decision like that.
As someone else commented, Sony should cast Andrew Garfield for their Spider-Man. Considering that the TASM movies have become better in hindsight, perhaps these would too, in a cheesy way.
If sony was smart they should just focus on miles spiderman, and if they want a sinister six movie, they could create a solo films of different version of spider people, and each of their villian will comeback and team up together to defeat miles.
Or a Spider-Man 2099 movie staring Oscar Isaac. Enter The Spiderverse introduced so many different Spider-Man concepts that could be (pardon the pun) spun off into other projects that it feels weird that they're focusing instead on C-tier villains who have had no real mainstream build-up.
Sony: "I knew if i vanished for long enough, you’d just watch and wait, your neglected body growing smelly and useless. But that was just phase one of my evil plan. Well, keep watching. Dookie-Dib. Watch helplessly as I begin…PHASE TWOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"
I have a theory that might make sense. Given that Sony is still developing the Miles Morales live action movie, had they continued with the SSU, we could've gotten an explanation on why Peter Parker disappeared
Meanwhile James Gunn is apparently greenlighting more projects featuring Batman villains based on the success of Penguin. You CAN have villain movies and shows without the hero, but they need to be written really well to be compelling and that hasn't been the case with the Spider-man-less Universe.
It’s ironic since venom is the only Spider-Man villain who is actually affected by spidey He mimics spider’s powers and even looks like him Yet he’s also the only one who can carry his own spider-man-less movie
You know what guys? What if we are just gonna start ignoring their movies? If noone will go to the cinema on their movie, then they will not make any money out of it.......whose with me???
Someone beat me to this comment, but i agree that instead of casting a new Spiderman, SONY should just bring back Andrew and work around his timeline like what should of happened. There's bound to be stories in the comics featuring a mature Spidey that could work with Andrew no problem.
If I'm being honest,in my opion, the venom trilogy was the only good movies they made for the universe.just keep making more evenly movies and it'll be fine.venom is one of,if not THE best Spiderman villian/anti hero.we don't need these other villains to have movies when the mcu can just put them in future spiderman films.like what are we gonna get next?a kingpin movie that's bad? A prowler movie that's bad? Its so easy to make a spiderman shared universe. Id argue its the easiest character next to maybe batman. The problem is NO ONE wants to read and adapt the comics. Yes there are people who get pissed off when a movie is as close to a perfect comic adaptation but then you have people who loved the peter jackson lotr movies and what close adaptations. Its literally easy money.
If we get a new live action Spider-Man i really hope he's not the same old teenage peter Parker, it'll be interesting to finally have a adult Spider-Man or an entirely different Spider-Man
Makes me look back at fox and realise “perhaps I treated you too harshly” they have a set of bad x-men films but at least they sometimes put out something good years after their first attempt like Logan heck sometimes the actors have a bit more charisma despite being in a bad movie like Kelsey as beast or anya Taylor as magik, Sony hasn’t put out an incredibly solid live action marvel movie since Spider-Man 2 without outside help. Rest have been mid, terrible or laughably bad
Hey i do know nothing what would your thoughts be on sony making a prowler project based on uncle Aaron and how he became the prowler in his universe and then you can show how earth 42 miles became the prowler you could do something where you flip back and forth on why they choose this path and alter ego and the best part you don't have to show spiderman so much so since they don't want tom Holland spiderman they don't have to with the prowler because he is a mercenary you can have him fight spiderman every few scenes but with earth 42 miles not having a spiderman you can show us how he became the prowler and the best part is since they make amazing animated projects they do this animated it will be amazing but whats your take
I want them to bring Andrew Garfield back for this universe, Tobey belongs in the original trilogy and or fox universe, while tom remains in the MCU, while andrew gets to be in the Sony verse.

Why are they so against to use spider man? The multiverse literally allows then to have like, 10 multiple spider mans on different franchises because this is the whole spider verse thing
Sony really said "We were just beginning" 😭
😂
You thought I was dead, nah, I'mma do my own spiderman.
@VELVETVELVENIR-7q, they're not dead but they didn't knew they existed after Venom
1:20
Andrew Garfield: come on man! Im right here!
even he also doesn't wanna join
You're acting like if Andrew is begging to get into this mess of a universe 😂
Andrew doesn't want to have any business with Sony, and I don't blame him
Sony would have to pay Andrew hella money for him to be in it, because he doesn’t wanna join that 💩 universe
Yeah bro make him come back after the failed 2 spiderman movies
bro was so done with this universe, they made him go muslim for a second💀💀
Lmao
Husseinberg
I Do Know Allah
I do know how to pray
I do know how to explode
OMG Sony just give the Spider-Man rights back to marvel
After Beyond the Spider Verse comes out of course
If only
They aren’t gonna “give” the biggest superhero away 😂
@@griff1240 we see about that

can we stop calling it a spiderman universe? he ain't even there.
You got to be kidding me. How many L will take until they’re done
Spider-Man is the most lucrative superhero in the world. They’ll make a low-effort box office bomb every 3-5 years if it means keeping the rights.

Has it ever occurred to them that people might not be interested in a film about a Spider-Man villain they have never heard of
And they still won’t make TASM3

Venom 1 was genuinely a good guilty pleasure. I wish we would’ve had better sequels to it and Carnage was R rated.
They have literal decades of stories to adapt, yet they choose the dumbest route to take.
