I’m a Sixers fan and I have great respect for Vaughn. Is a good coach and Simmons deserves to be low key called out for his lack of drive. Herb Megee, Philly’s shot guru, offered to help Simmons and he refused to even get back to him.

A real head coach doesn’t act like that. Nash may have been worse but Vaughn should not be showing up his own players in a press conference like that. You hash it out in the locker room.
I know Ben Simmons is a pain for everybody to deal with but if he’s your player you have to deal with these kinds of issues quietly.
Follow the examples of ppl like Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Greg Popovich, etc. Don’t show up your players in the press.

When did Pop ever show up his own player? Even when Kawhi was sitting out for an entire season basically Pop never showed him up and kept it very PC in the media.
You don’t show up your own players in the media when you are their coach. Not for the “feelings” of the player, but for the team. The team needs to know that their coach is gonna deal with any player problems in-house and never in the media.

He basically already told you how he feel about Ben without saying it.
He was a solid backup PG in the league. It’s always the backups in sports that seem to make the best coaches. They get a front row view playing against the greatest in the world, training with them, seeing how they prepare and also seeing how they can outwit a player more athletic, more talented then them when that other person doesn’t put in the proper effort or attention to detail.
And also he has a genuineness about him that’s uncanny. For us all, our greatness isn’t in us being the same, it’s in what makes unique. Be you, because can be you better.

It's a shame to see it go this way, there are alot of critics of Ben, understandable, they can't see why someone with that potential wouldn't appear to bring 100%, that's the perception I interpret from watching him play and fan, coach, team interaction. I am way too far away to make a call about it though, like most others here, we can only perceive it .Can't second guess the man either, he turns up to do a job, some people don't respond well or get lit up by criticism. I suspect Ben is one of those guys, just wonder if Ben actually enjoys playing the game, at the moment I feel for him, it comes off like he's not, that's ok, but it appears to be hurting coach and those that want to succeed who do have a passion for the game.
Another Melbourne guy who does seem to have alot of passion for the game is Josh Giddy for the OKC. Could take something from his game and get self belief back into himself, he can be a good player, if he has the fire left inside, I'd like to see him succeed, like most others would I suspect. But he just doesn't appear to be having fun out there and that's kind of a lonely feeling for him I suspect. I think we all hate to see a guy who could completely dominate the league sit back on his laurels, but when I heard that he was one of the first players in NCAA history to not attend enough of his classes to be eligible for any post season awards.
