This trilogy was backwards. It should have STARTED with Michael long since vanished and forgotten, Laurie having come to terms with her trauma, but then her spider-sense goes off when she meets her granddaughter's weird boyfriend. Cory's meeting Michael in the sewers could be more ambiguous, maybe real, maybe hallucinations. Cory might just be disassociating when he "sees" Michael kill. Then it comes down to a fight, Cory vs. Laurie...then we see Michael enter the house and realize it's actually him, not a hallucination. He kills Cory, fights Laurie and goes off into the night... Then the second movie can play out roughly the same except minus the stupid "defending yourself is wrong because you might hurt someone" subplot. Judy Greer dies and Michael disappears again. Time jump a few years to the third movie, and now Laurie becoming an alcoholic doomsday prepper makes more sense, as Michael has attacked her twice and much more recently as opposed to just one chance encounter 40 years ago. And the finale of trapping him in a burning house is much more satisfying than a slow funeral procession to an industrial shredder. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Just wanted to say I like your reworking. Each time I watch this movie in reactions, new ideas pop into my mind who this could have been done better. I enjoyed reading yours.
You probably missed it because it was a “blink and you missed it moment,” but in the intro to the movie with all the newspaper clippings, the town demolished the Myers house. So that’s why Michael wasn’t still trying to go home.
Halloween Kills has actually grown on me, but Ends? Phew, lots of Michael Myers 'Old man walking through the mall wearing new balances' moments in this one.
Michael went from a badass in Halloween Kills to renting a room from Pennywise 🤣 The switch of evil power would have been a good spin off movie…but this shit is called Halloween Ends! The whole movie should have been about the fight between Michael and Laurie!
You missed the whole point of what Laurie was saying at the end of Halloween Kills. You can't fight Michael with anger. She chose not to go the way the others did in Kills which ended up getting them killed. She chose to live her best life for the first time in over 40 years. In the end she killed Michael but it wasn't from a place of anger which is why she held his hand at the end. It's just a shame some fans just want to see a 2 hour slash-a-thon
@@adamclifton29 Actually, Laurie said at the end of Halloween Kills that you can't defeat Michael with brute force...........which is exactly what she used to kill him in Ends. They advertised this as the final showdown between Laurie and Michael, but he wasn’t even in most of it and that’s why a lot of us were pissed with this. They were too afraid to pull the trigger and kill Michael early and have Corey become the shape because of the backlash from Season of the Witch. “So, why do we even give a fuck about Corey?” Yup… that about sums it up! If they’d introduced him earlier in the trilogy it would’ve made sense, but shoehorning him into the last movie was a terrible decision.
Kills was a very rocky movie with great kolls in it, and Ends was a really good step up by including more of of a story unlike before. Easily 1st or 2nd best in this trilogy.
I'm a Freddy fan but I respect the other horror icons and while the Halloween series has been all over the place storywise, Michael is an OG that has earned his status. This movie didn't give him the ending his status deserved. Some of the thoughts J shared are so similar to my own, I just copy pasted my IMDB review here. It's lengthy so only read it if you're truly interested. "So, here's my take on this. This didn't feel like a Michael Myers movie. Michael only had like, what, 3 kills? Corey had 10. This was supposed to be Michael and Laurie's final showdown and seeing as how Michael is a horror icon, his ending should've been epic and it wasn't. Michael seemed weak, geriatric and to me, this film feels more like the birth of a new icon. The birth of Corey. It was like Michael sensed an evil under Corey's surface and rather than kill him, he infected him and brought that evil to maturity. I thought the plot was initially shaping up to be a showdown between two boogie men. It sorta felt like Corey could've been developing his evil but when it came time to for Michael to show up and attempt to take out Laurie and Allison, he would've helped destroy Michael to protect Allison. But, alas, this is not what happened. Here are a few things bothered me. Why had Michael not made more attempts on Laurie's life if he was free and living in the sewer for four years? The homeless man implied that Michael had been in the same spot for those years and all the people who went in the sewer had failed to come out and was shocked when Corey emerged. Why was Corey able to so easily subdue Michael and steal his mask? It was almost sad to see that Michael was being manhandled. Did Corey gain Michael's supernatural strength and ability to regenerate? It seemed he gained strength because he squished the girl trapped under the truck with a single stomp. He was also able to jump up and attempt to keep Michael's mask after having stabbed himself in the neck. Does that mean that he could survive Michael's attempt to break his neck? Is that why they left Michael's mask behind rather than get rid of it? Why couldn't there had finally been an explanation as to why Michael was impervious to harm and driven to kill Laurie? After all these years, a little explanation would have brought his story full circle. Why weren't the Haddonfield residents dressed in costumes on Halloween night? The procession to the grinder was a missed opportunity to return to that classic Halloween night feel and they really should've had the people of Haddonfield dressed in costumes to play that moment up to its full potential and made it a true homage to Michael's legacy. The film wasn't total garbage and could've been fine as a stand alone spinoff of the Halloween franchise but it just didn't feel like Michael's Halloween and it didn't send him off with the epic last stand his legendary status deserved and should've had. It wouldn't surprise me if we were to see a Halloween Reborn film that brings us a potentially new slasher icon to fill Michael's shoes." They did Michael dirty. He deserved a higher kill count, more blood, more strength and while the final girl fight was good, I wanted more for Michael and Laurie. If anyone read all the way through, let me know what your thoughts were.
My hat's off to you, J, for being able to sit through this dreck. I almost thought you were going to stop and go get another tequila and Sprite. These movies are not my cup of tea, but no matter how bad they get (and you know how bad that is!), it's always fun watching them with you.
Exactly. He IS the OG. Can't take that away from him because of other momos come in and fck it up. The original Halloween and Rob Zombie's are the best
So he the goat on 2 movies being good? Hmm so he’s 2 for 13 but he’s the goat? If anybody in any field ever in life went 2 for 13 on yall would say they was trash. If yall watched 13 reactions and I only made yall laugh in 2 of them yall would say I was trash and never come back but Michael manage to be the goat with that record 🤷🏾♂️ - J
@@EOMReacts I'm saying Michael can be the GOAT on those 2 alone, but you can put H4, H20, 2018, and Kills in there to help. Friday the 13th has some garbage movies too, Part 5,8,9,10.
Nah, Michael Myers is the G.O.A.T...Jason and the F13 franchise doesn't even get created if not for Michael Myers and Halloween being so successful in 1978.
That’s like saying William Walter "Pudge" Heffelfinger is the goat of football bc he was the first professional football player ever. Just bc you first it don’t make you best. Michael Myers proves that with this trash series - J
@@EOMReacts Like you said you're new to horror. Jason series is trash. Kill count doesn't make someone the GOAT. Most horror fanatics have Jason towards the bottom of the list. Jason goes to hell and amongst others are horrible and just as bad as this movie. Not to mention Jason got killed by a 10yr old.
Your sentiments regarding this film echo a lot of ours. I said the same thing when I first saw it, as a stand-alone film, it works, but in the context of the other two movies, it doesn't. Laurie Strode brushing everything off and living a normal life after her daughter was taken out is one of the more glaring areas that stand out. She prepares for the last forty years, then does a 180. Had they introduced Corey in the first film and built him up, it might have worked, but excluding Myers and throwing in another psycho in his place for most of the final movie was just bizarre... "If I can't have her...", then stabs himself. At the 4:08 mark when you mention, "who the fk is this", that was the first red flag. lol Regarding Michael Myers, you nailed it. "Supposed to be an icon of slashers, not get beat up in a sewer". Couldn't have said it better myself. lol Just too many oddball decisions with this flick.
I've never been more upset over a Halloween movie. That being said I'll always love the first Halloween over any Jason movie but the Friday series is way better than the Halloween series after part 1
this movie gets a lot of hate but i had a great time watching it haha in my opinion the new halloweens are an homage to the first 3 og movies. the third original movie was season of the witch which was totally different and threw audiences off and this one does the same. this one is very different to the first two new ones. like the second one of the new ones it was set at hospital just like the og second movie. the film makers make it clear from the start that this one has a different spin on it by changing the opening title font, i get what they were doing. again this is just my personal opinion i understand the hate this one gets believe me lol but personally i like it.
This is one that almost all Halloween die hards hated. Jamie Lee even stated that fans will hate this movie. She was right. We Halloween fans don't count this one. We're Just as mad at it as you are if not more. Because with the real Michael everything in this movie wouldn't have happened.
And I couldn’t agree with you more about the idea of passing on the evil to Corey. That would’ve been a much better idea and could’ve given the franchise an easy path forward for future movies. But no, they had to fuck that up, too.
Corey was pretty cool, my only issue was he didn't get to carry on the role he initially seemed to be taking on. I reckon if Michael dies here then Corey should still be alive to continue what Michael started
@JL I really liked the first two of this trilogy but them going in the direction they did with Michael only in it as they put him was a VERY bad mistake. As usual you have some of the best line's and I agree with your breakdown of the film 110% @EOM Thanks for this upload and to the amazing patrons.
The lore and legend of Michael Mayers is what makes me a fan of him, to me he’s 1 and Jason is 2. Just my opinion. However, this movie was ass cheeks.. and as a fan I’m sick to my stomach.. Kills was amazing cuz it showed what he truly is and capable of
Halloween 4 and H20 are my top 2 favorites along with the remakes and Halloween 2018 right below. If you listened to Laurie, then you'd understand. "Everytime Michael kills, he transcends" Laurie (Halloween Kills). Michael's kills kind of brings him some sort of power including the power to heal I think. He hadn't killed much the past few years because he's wounded then gave some of his evil to Corey so he could bring him people to kill so he can heal. Corey and Allyson are easily the best parts of this film and Allyson is hot af :D . Didn't care for Michael vs. Laurie at all and that ending how they got rid of Michael was trash. Though if Corey has the evil in him, then he's gotta be still alive. The fan film Never Hike Alone II had a FAR better ending to Tommy vs. Jason. Your rant on only caring about the villain is SPOT ON. Same thing Beth stated in Scream Season 3. The killers are the REAL star of the horror franchises, not the final girls. Their the ones people pay to see. Love that.
Question..after this the next Halloween will the the Rob Zombie ones right?I hope J will watch those..i have a feeling he would like them..at least the first one.
I can't imagine why anyone would enjoy seeing the embodiment of evil reduced to crazy trailer trash that escaped just to see his sister. Not even to kill her, he just wanted to see her.
When you see the thumbnail and you smile. Because you KNOW that the Murderwhistle is going to lose his mind. I knew that he was going off on this train wreck of a movie and he didn’t disappoint.
If you want Michael Myers back on the MT. Rushmore, I would recommend Rob Zombies Halloween films 1 and 2 than these last Halloween series flicks for sure!
Tell you the truth I love DGG. He did a better job than Zombie and the Thorn directors and Williamson. Bravo brother. It isn't perfect but then again what is?
I read somewhere where they used the old Stephen King movie “Christene” as inspiration for this. Like with Corey not needing his glasses, him chasing the bully girl when he runs her down in the truck and turns on the headlights, etc . Halloween Kills and 1&2 of the original are my favorite by far. This one is entertaining but could have been made WAY BETTER!

I'd say they should have kept Corey alive
3 minutes in ‘I ain’t hating’ I knew it 😂
I love you brother. keep doing your thing
When Michael looked in his eyes guessing it made him evil
Halloween Kills was also MY favorite Halloween movie, tied with the original Halloween ll
You should strongly consider ranking these horror franchises you have watched! It would make for great content!
We got a channel coming for stuff like that - J
I watch your videos with my 9 y/o son our horror Saturday nights
Halloween (2009) 2 and Halloween Kills are the best two Michael Myers Halloween movie imo.
Not Danny Glover knees 🤣🤣
Michael mask is captain Kirck from star trek panted white
Haven’t watched yet but ik its gonna be like 15 "Jason would never" 10 off Michael getting his mask snatched like a dude taking a chain alone lol
"Well, who is he too?" 😂
I'm a Freddy fan but I respect the other horror icons and while the Halloween series has been all over the place storywise, Michael is an OG that has earned his status.
It wouldn't surprise me if we were to see a Halloween Reborn film that brings us a potentially new slasher icon to fill Michael's shoes."
They did Michael dirty.
Michael is the GOAT just on the first two Halloween's alone.
@@EOMReacts
Get'em!
I really liked both Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills a lot, but this one Halloween Ends was just pure trash.
Finally somebody else likes Halloween Kills
I thought Halloween Kills was the worst of the new trilogy by far but yeah this one was pretty bad too
Halloween Ends is a set up for future Halloween's. Michale Myers would have eventually died of old age.
Jason is the GOAT
Nah, Michael Myers is the G.O.A.T...Jason and the F13 franchise doesn't even get created if not for Michael Myers and Halloween being so successful in 1978.
Nah Jason is towards the bottom of the pack. Myers will always be the GOAT.
@@mattbudesa6351well Michael was a pussy in this.
At the 4:08 mark when you mention, "who the fk is this", that was the first red flag. lol
Regarding Michael Myers, you nailed it. "Supposed to be an icon of slashers, not get beat up in a sewer". Couldn't have said it better myself. lol Just too many oddball decisions with this flick.
At least we got Halloween Kills 🔥
32:30 exactly ...
I so cant wait until our man J! reacts to the 13th Warrior i will have the popcorn out for that one.
not danny glover knees! 😂😂😂 I was over here talkin 2 u like I was in the room wit u
I've never been more upset over a Halloween movie. That being said I'll always love the first Halloween over any Jason movie but the Friday series is way better than the Halloween series after part 1
Jason X soon, right?? And the movie with the boxer, was "Diggstown". With Lou Gossett Jr
Michael had no home in Halloween Ends. In between Kills and Ends, the home was torn down.
I told you this movie is one of the Baddest in history of Halloween
One of the most underrated Halloween sequels
I agree to be honest lol but the hate in the comments are real strong on every reaction channel that I’ve watched
@@SmileyAdventures true
I hate this movie with an absolute passion. Garbage in every way possible. But to each their own
What underrated about it 😂
this movie gets a lot of hate but i had a great time watching it haha in my opinion the new halloweens are an homage to the first 3 og movies. the third original movie was season of the witch which was totally different and threw audiences off and this one does the same. this one is very different to the first two new ones.
like the second one of the new ones it was set at hospital just like the og second movie. the film makers make it clear from the start that this one has a different spin on it by changing the opening title font, i get what they were doing.
again this is just my personal opinion
i understand the hate this one gets believe me lol but personally i like it.
Love your slasher Saturday's. Gives me something to watch
Best outro ever 😂
This is one that almost all Halloween die hards hated. Jamie Lee even stated that fans will hate this movie. She was right. We Halloween fans don't count this one. We're Just as mad at it as you are if not more. Because with the real Michael everything in this movie wouldn't have happened.
So are you gonna watch the rob zombie halloween movies?
Great Reaction Video...! Horror Movies,You'll Love
(1) MALIGNANT
(2)THE COLLECTOR
(3)LIGHTS OUT
And I couldn’t agree with you more about the idea of passing on the evil to Corey. That would’ve been a much better idea and could’ve given the franchise an easy path forward for future movies. But no, they had to fuck that up, too.
Halloween 4 is better than every Jason movie
🤣🤣🤣 you mean the one the “boogeyman” cried in? Throw that in the trash with the rest of the series - J
Corey was pretty cool, my only issue was he didn't get to carry on the role he initially seemed to be taking on. I reckon if Michael dies here then Corey should still be alive to continue what Michael started
I liked it. But I am someone who liked part 3 when it came out. They did something completely different and not rinse and repeat.
@JL I really liked the first two of this trilogy but them going in the direction they did with Michael only in it as they put him was a VERY bad mistake. As usual you have some of the best line's and I agree with your breakdown of the film 110% @EOM Thanks for this upload and to the amazing patrons.
I warned you bro
You're my Boy BLUE! Wait wrong movie. Have a good one everyone.
The lore and legend of Michael Mayers is what makes me a fan of him, to me he’s 1 and Jason is 2. Just my opinion. However, this movie was ass cheeks.. and as a fan I’m sick to my stomach.. Kills was amazing cuz it showed what he truly is and capable of
You need to see Halloween (1978) tv version and Halloween 6- The producers cut
Awesome reaction of my favorite Halloween movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Why????
It's like they used some skeleton script and added Halloween mythos to it
I was waiting for this 😊
His reactions to the Halloween movies were splendid
Rob rocks! Director's cut of the first. H2 theatrical is for me even better in some ways.
I can't imagine why anyone would enjoy seeing the embodiment of evil reduced to crazy trailer trash that escaped just to see his sister. Not even to kill her, he just wanted to see her.
He needs to watch h3!!!!!
He might like the kills, but the story is trash. With way too much horror porn.
@@Bluesit32 🤣
When you see the thumbnail and you smile. Because you KNOW that the Murderwhistle is going to lose his mind. I knew that he was going off on this train wreck of a movie and he didn’t disappoint.
If you want Michael Myers back on the MT. Rushmore, I would recommend Rob Zombies Halloween films 1 and 2 than these last Halloween series flicks for sure!
Tell you the truth I love DGG. He did a better job than Zombie and the Thorn directors and Williamson. Bravo brother. It isn't perfect but then again what is?
I completely agree.
