I grew up with all those franchises(metroid and mario/luigi as a teenager) and I sometimes wish I was born in the early or late 2000's because I would've experienced games like metroid zero mission(maybe), super smash bros brawl(without spoilers on the sse), Super Mario Galaxy, mario and luigi bowser's inside story, pokemon black and white, super mario odyssey, the legend of zelda breath of the wild, and possibly Donkey kong country tropical freeze.
M&L is so based! dream team and paper jam were my first and to this day they are still some of my favourite games ever, and i'm so excited for brothership too! and i wish i didn't skip partners in time to play bowser's inside story
You haveee to play super metroid and metroid fusion! i love those games so much, same with metroid prime remastered! Metroid 1 and 2 havent aged that well, i did complete them, but the lack of a map a map hinders the experience a lot since theres many repeating rooms in metroid 1, just play zero mission instead
So based on the video, I'm guessing you still haven't played Xenoblade yet. It has a great story, great characters, and a world thats really fun to explore. Its also a really long game, but unlike most JRPGs I feel like its story hooks you pretty quickly and takes you on a pretty wild journey. People who've played it probably know the "hook" I'm refering to, but in case you're totally blind on the game I won't talk about it here.
I never got to play Pokémon when I was younger because of the “Pokemon is demonic” craze. My mom finally let me play this year and it is now one of my favorite series. I remember all my friends talking about the Sun and Moon games/anime back in elementary and wanting to know more about it, but not being able to.
nope i had metroid prime 3 on wii, at 9 years old it was soo good, but i was stuck in one area not knowing what to do for months, only now as a 16 year old did i progress. guess thats why i think so much.
2:05 the only surprising thing about that statement is the fact that you owned a Wii U XD. Nah, but fr tho, you can start any franchise at any game at any time and still have an amazing experience lol. Although I do also get the desire to have grown up with certain games.
Now I watched the video, and nice choice of music! So you grew up playing basically Mario from the Nintendo franchises? Like, only after getting more resposabilities you started to give other franchises a chance? Well, I think I am growing with all these franchises, since I was 12 I am a big Nintendo fan, before that, I almost didn't know the existence of Nintendo and I am always sad because I had a ps2 since I was 6, and I never had the disk that contains a Snes emulator with roms, I would love to play Mario as a kid, it was playing on emulators on phone years later I started this journey with Nintendo. I think it is weird I became so fanatic to Nintendo at my 13/14s, even bought a Wii and played more on it than my Ps3, Mario and Zelda mainly, and it was great, I started with Ocarina and Minish Cap and went evolving until the recent games, and this also with most Nintendo franchises Playing Xenoblade as a teenager was just amazing and it was some of the best things happened in my life, I didn't like Pokémon or RPGs in general (though I had played some mother 3 before and the few I played I loved the story but unfortunately gave up early, and it is a greeeat game) but after playing Xenoblade I started to like more the genre, very like you described on the video, even played Fire Emblem, and now I can speak english (well, I think) because the lack of translation to my language, portuguese, made me exforce to learn English on Duolingo (I am happy none of my family has being kidnapped yet) And some years later, now with the Switch, I could play Xenoblade 2 and this game has some messages that I will take to life, I admire the protagonist Rex so much for what he did and some deep themes were amazing. And now I am going to be 18 and will be starting my journey with Xenoblade 3, couldn't be more excited to become older!
I played a lot of 3D and 2D Mario games, Pikmin, Mario sports games, and Lego games, donkey Kong games. It is interesting that you started in your early teens!
@@GloInTheDark Ohh, that is still nice! Great games! as a kid, I played Lego a lot on the ps2, a great franchise for a kid to become smarter But I hope you will can enjoy every game you want, it is really hard to have time to enjoy everything nowadays
METROID MENTIONED!!!! Playing - No, *Experiencing* Metroid Fusion, Metroid Prime, and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes for the first time as a 7 y/o created some of the greatest memories I'll ever have, alongside Metroid Samus Returns, Metroid Zero Mission, NES Metroid, Metroid Prime Federation Force and Metroid Dread in the years since. ^^ IT'S SO PEAKKKKKK and I need to play the other 6 games ESPECIALLY OTHER M but I don't have a wiiiiiii aAaaAAaAaa °՞(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞° (But on a side note,, I can confirm it does re-wire your brain to be better acclimated to the impossibility that school is [ -And/or I was just smart as a kid- ])
Unfortunately Mario and Luigi paper jam is one of the most wasted potential games ever made. The gameplay is good but everything else about it sucks. The locations are even more generic than sticker stars and the plot is literally just Bowser kidnapping peach. There is not a single original character from either series in the crossover (besides Starlow) which kind of defeats the entire purpose of a crossover
I can understand this viewpoint but I disagree on this lopsidedness that comes up way too much. I'm 50 hours into this game having played it over the last month, just right before the final boss and just tidying up some of my 100% goals. I've played PiT, BiS, DT, watched playthroughs of Superstar Saga and PiT, on top of Lizardy's videos investigating the games and AD. I can say that, yes, the locations are weaker than previous entries and the music is limited, so much so that the composer commented on it. However, the story is definitely not as simple as you make it out to be; Sticker Star's plot is Bowser kidnaps Peach. Without going into spoilers, Paper Jam's plot involves Paper Bowser, both Kameks, both Peaches, occasional unique minions/allies and of course certain bosses with dialogue. Absolutely a low bar, for sure, but this discussion tends to completely shut down just from this shallow, hasty dismissal. I had heard this for a long time and was part of the reason it took me so long to play PJ, and yet playing through it, saying 'it's mostly boring, sometimes a little cynical or interesting' would be more accurate than 'it sucks like Sticker Star'. Not to mention, SS was explicitly designed with that smoking gun interview issue of "7-12 year old audience", while PJ had many more creative ideas but ran out of budget, was creatively burnt out, iffy management, and running on fumes since at least Dream Team which was scrapped 5 times. Comparing SS and PJ does a disservice to all the effort that still almost made it into PJ, not to mention that IS pushed SS's so-called 'Mario mandates' (assuming they exist) onto PJ, not the other way around. Gameplay is 'good' is also an understatement. I see pretty consistently that the card system is an improvement over the badge system used for all previous games, and while I can't entirely agree I can definitely see the reasoning. That's not mentioning that this is unironically one of the most difficult games in the series: replacing color-coordinated tells with reaction-based and directional tells, limiting stat growth to customize through beans placing more onus on the player, several difficulty-easing options that allowed them to crank the difficulty up in response. I thought part of the difficulty was that I hadn't played the series since Dream Team in 2016 or so, but thinking back, I can't seem to remember struggling this much. The Toad missions also get brought up a lot, but going for 100% has really shown that the concerns are overblown; the way people discuss them, it's like all they are is 50 missions of corralling Toads in the same box, over and over again, which couldn't be further from the truth. Sure, they're not the most engaging or interesting thing in the world, aren't directly related to the plot, and sometimes feel pretty repetitive, but too much of this game has been overshadowed and downright glossed over exclusively due to hand-waving and the weaker story. Again, I can understand your feelings toward the game, but I'm not a fan of this argument constantly being thrown out to shut down any PJ appreciation and I'd like OP to try it while not overly biased as he's someone who is excited for the game. I can definitely agree though that other games in the series definitely do plenty of aspects far better, so please don't entirely generalize PJ to the rest of the series if you don't have a great time, OP. Enjoy!
