Thank you. This was an extremely good tutorial and highly useful. I was trying to figure it out on my own but it was laughable. I am glad that I found your video.
I have been trying to learn this to create fabric for years... why is it that you are the best teacher for the 2 things I have been looking for.... 1st the stickers using the Cricut Maker and now this... You ROCK MAN!!!!!
Thank you for explaining this so well! I’ve watched so many videos for this and never been able to do this until now. I loved being able to do this so much that I ran to your shop to buy that 6 pack of stickers! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’ve learned to do it this way before, but that top layer with the opacity to fine tune it in and make sure it meets.....that was awesome! I’ve definitely had a weird thing in my pattern when it didn’t meet right. Great job!
YOU just made this so much easier for me to understand! I HAVE been trying this forever and couldn’t figure it out! You have a gift, of teaching…. I appreciate this and you! Thank you so much
Yours is the best video on making seamless patterns - and I’ve watched a bunch of them. You made it easy and I was able make my own. I’m pretty new to procreate, so it may take me a while to memorize all the steps, but at least my head isn’t spinning like on the others. Keep making great videos and thanks so much!
This was a great tutorial, i had to watch a few but weren’t as easy to follow as this one. Thank you. The opacity however has changed I had to google how to do that maybe you could add some text on the screen to just mention how to do it on the layer panel. I am very new to procreate and appreciate you for posting this video 😀
Glad the video helped! Unfortunately, apps updates and things move over time. Your suggestion of adding text to the screen to explain the updates isn’t the way RUclips works. Once a video is uploaded, you can’t add or make changes to it.
This was soo helpful..thank you...i have one doubt if you dont mind....if i make an illustration for both digital use and print, should i do it twice like one in rgb color profile and one in cmyk...ive been having this doubt for quiet some time.. would really appreciate some help. 😄
Can you please show how to make a seamless background design. Like chevron, or animal prints, water color. Stuff like that. I just started my shop and I sell seamless designs and I have requests for these kinds of things but cant figure out how to do them! I tried them this way and they just dont work.
Hi! Do you have a video on how to do this with a textured background? Like if I'm just wanting to make a seamless texture or even if i waNted to make what you made but with a textured background behind it?
Omg thank you so much i actually wanted to know how to do this because i want to sell my designs on red bubble too what a coincidence didn't expect this 😂
Thanks for the info. I followed every step, but when i had to click om opacity it seems my buttons looks different, i don’t have an opacity tool. I am on a regular ipad.
Love the video! Anyone know of a good starting resolution to make images for repeating patterns? In the video he worked with 4000×4000 pixels. Is that usual for print?
He made the comment that the higher the resolution the better if you’re going to be doing a print. The number of layers you need will impact your decision as this is affected by resolution choice.
300 dpi might be the highest practical number your printservice can print. In digital work the printing issues is a big one. An example is the color on your screen might not print the same way etc.. The 4000 is like 13 inces witch might be good enough.
Ditto, Bosy Ta. I watched another vid on it that involved a lot more steps, so there’s more than one way to skin a cat! BeeJay is the most efficient cat skinner on Earth (I never realized how creepy that old saying was until I typed it out. I assure you, no felines were hurt in the creation of this comment).
Hey BeeJayDel what font did you use on the flour sack? I am trying to convert to a vector and really like that font... plus trying to make a page and would like fonts to match.
Thanks a lot! I have a doubt: when I move my designs around the canvas or rotate it etc the drawing pixelated. Why is that? It’s because I need to draw them in high resolution? 🤗
Procreate does lose some fidelity when moving objects- always a good idea to work in as high of a resolution to begin with to combat that. If it’s super pixelated then the res is too low for sure.
Let's Draw with BeeJayDeL it’s actually a bug that has nothing to do with the document resolution. It also occurs when rotating which doesn’t affect object’s size. Procreate are aware and I really hope they can fix it soon, until then I use the resized thing as a guide and redraw (or try and get it right first time!).
I don’t have my iPad yet so I can’t play around with it to figure it out myself. How do you save the little characters you drew with transparent backgrounds to bring them back to make a seamless file?
Also, I’ve watched a ton of videos but I haven’t seen anyone type anything. Is there a way to add words to a seamless design without writing them out by hand?
Let's Draw with BeeJayDeL thank you for your reply also thank you for the pod cast content I just recently found your channel and binged most of the podcast and all I can say is thank you for the valuable info
I only have snapping as an option, I see magnetics is under snapping but then it doesn't allow me to line it up, and allow the circle to turn green, any tips for this?
Question (I’m new to procreate) can any one tell we why we combine the two duplicate layers after deleting the two backgrounds instead of deleting one of the duplicates?
I’ve seen this method before, and through my own previous testing and watching your video now, don’t you end up with a 1 or 2 pixel gap on the right from nudging the first two groups off canvas? When you nudged the second group to the right those group layers auto crop anything off canvas when deselected, so then that group has lost a small pixel amount on the right edge when you nudged group left again. This creates a white seam in your pattern. To avoid a seam, you would need to use the undo command on the second group nudged and repeat the nudging until the layers align correctly. That method can be pretty tedious. This is why I had to resort to using a different program that has better snap functionality, so I can reliably line pattern pieces without ending up with seams. It’s sadly the only downside to procreates limited snap functions.
Hi Julie, I came to comments just to see if this problem was addressed by anyone. That little white gap that is on the edge because the previous nudge that went too far out has cropped the design. This is why I don't do more repeat pattern designs in Procreate! Can you please share which program it is that you use that has snap functions? Even if I create my initial design in Procreate, I think it would be a time-saver to do the seamless pattern steps in the snapping program. thanks!
Blissycat Sure! I use Pixelmator as it has better snap functions. Also you can move elements around without them cropping when off the canvas. I followed this Spoonflower tutorial - blog.spoonflower.com/2018/08/how-to-create-a-seamless-repeat-with-pixelmator/ Instead of creating the images within pixelmator, I just imported my procreate images. You’ll need to save the individual pieces for your pattern as pngs and then import them as separate layers to pixelmator. I still feel this is limited compared to photoshops built in pattern tools, but on iPad there are fewer options available to us. Hope that was helpful. x
Julie Garrington awesome, thank you! I used to have access to Adobe CC which was great because you could see x/y coordinates which helped with alignment. Work layoff limits my access now so I appreciate the heads up on the other software!
I notice your png images were 4000 x 4000 pixels, when i tried to export mine of the same size to my files they didnt export properly, only smaller ones did. Do you know why that happens. Thanks Jo
Thanks so, much. This was just what I was looking for.
This has got to be one of the best videos I have ever watched. Even a 68 year old lady can learn from this

I have watched about a dozen!!!! Of these videos and this is the first time I can do this!!! 🙏 thank you! You’re explanation is the best!!!
The clearest explanation I've seen.Thanks!
❤️👍❤️👍
@@BeeJayDeL Just curious. Why is the clip-art called "Kawaii?"
As a textile designer who just got their first iPad mini, this is SUPER helpful and will save me a *lot* of time 👍🏽
I think this tip on importing finished elements onto the canvas vs drawing them on is going to really help me keep the designs crisper. Thanks!
I LITERALLY SPENT TWO HOURS TRYING TO DO THIS BY MYSELF YESTERDAY, WHY DIDNT I CHECK YOUR CHANNELLLLLL
That nudge trick is probably the best procreate info Ive seen yet!
Pretty handy!
Huge*
Best and easiest seamless pattern tutorial I’ve found! Thanks!

I’ve never needed to do this before, I don’t know when I will but still watched all the way through. Great video, can never hurt to learn a new trick
As award for a successful video-tutorial is a subscription, welldone and thanks.
One of the most useful Procreate tutorials ever. Thank you.
This video was so helpful!
Could you do a “how to make a textured background seamless pattern” like marble?
Here for this!
By fair the easiest tutorial on RUclips for a seamless on pro create! New suscriber here! Thanks so much!
Amazing tutorial, thank you so much for not going too fast on each step and showing details step by step. I learned a lot. Good info
Best and clearest tutorial thanks so much
I'm recording this. Really clear explanation. Thank you!
YOU just made this so much easier for me to understand! I HAVE been trying this forever and couldn’t figure it out! You have a gift, of teaching…. I appreciate this and you! Thank you so much
Smart I wished they made a canvas mode for that. Asteroid mode - with the margin overconect to the oposite side.

Thanks for watching!
I agree. I started doing the patterns following another video and it was a headache 🤣. So now I have faith again in procreate 😂🙏🏼
@@missscrapworkshop Good luck 🥰
Thank you for wonderful explanation
This was a great tutorial, once again, explaining it all intricately, thank you!
Dude, love your videos. You are so clear at explaining things.
Are you going to do a update of this with new 5x update, that would be brilliant please
Bought your pencils yesterday, bought all these images today. Can’t wait to try this. Love your work.
Your work is so inspiring to me thank you for your tutorials.
So incredible’s tips!!! Thank you , you’re perfect as teacher!
The absolute best way to do this. Thank you!
Great tutorial!
WhT if you can’t find the opacity?
Same problem Wth?
Twice as fast and easy as the tutorial I watched on Skillshare! 🤩
Yaaass...I finally got it! Thank you so much for this. You are a fantastic teacher!😃
Very informative. Thank you for posting. Hope to see some more of them.
Well done and easy to learn from

Thanks for this video. I was shocked at how easy it was to follow along! And that song was so catchy... what's the name of it?
Thanks! The song is called “Prizefighter”...something from the RUclips audio library!

Thank you for making ist so clear and fun to watch!
Thanks Angi!
I always love watching your videos-they’re always so informative x
This is amazing and so helpful. Thanks a ton!
Can you make a video on how to make similar clip art in pro create? If you haven’t already!
Great video! Thanks for sharing your tips!

Ps, Why do you wear the gloves please? Is it to keep your screen smudge-free or is to to stop feeling the warmth from the iPad screen please? x

Do you know how to make like 18-1 files or 4-1 files for a full yard of fabric?
Following for this too
