I got scammed selling a 3770k on eBay. The guy has a lot of positive reviews and has items listed on sale. He filed a “defective” claim through eBay, saying “the CPU worked then stopped working and smoke was coming out”. He showed me pictures of a fried CPU that “looked” like it was the CPU I sold him. Contacted eBay because it sounded fishy AF. They told me I have to accept the return and I can then file a claim to eBay. So I accepted the return and got it back. As I was inspecting the CPU, I noticed the CPU contacts are aligned differently from the ones I had in the uploaded pictures. I did a little digging and realized that he swapped the IHS of the CPU I sent (i7-3770k) with a fried i3-2120 and sent it back as a fried “3770k”. I was so frustrated and contacted eBay and had a fun time explaining that to the customer service. After all of that, they sided with the buyer. I was very upset with the ruling and I called them again to complain about how unfair that was. They ended up giving me back the money as one time courtesy. I am happy that I got the money back but very upset that the scammer got off scot-free. The buyer is still active on eBay btw.
Jeeeeeez, I wonder how many times they've pulled this off. Really happy you got your money back, but only a "one time courtesy"??? I guess that means they just lost a customer for any future transactions lol

Was scammed on eBay by a reputable seller. I sold a CPU for 300$ and he sent it back saying it wasn't working, but when I received the item it wasn't the CPU I had sold to the person. When I sell items I mark items in spots that are not very noticeable to ensure that if an item is sent back (it is the one I sent out) the seller relisted the CPU I had sent out on eBay for sale (with the markings) but thankfully after explaining to support they dealt with the matter and shutdown the other users eBay account and I still have the money
I got scammed by HP. I was on a state side deployment recently and i picked up an OEM that was labeled as a Ryzen 3 4000 series, so it was supposed to have a 4300g. After deployment the PC was damaged so i decided to scrap it for what parts i could and build a linux terminal. Instead of a 4300g i found the previous gen 3200g despite what the box/manufacturers stickers said. HP's response besides trying to burry it like a non issue was finally to say "let one of our technicians look at it, if we determine that you put a new APU in we will bill you again." How does one even determine if a new CPU was put in?

Heres a scam. Someone buys a bran new graphics card on amazon then registers it for the warranty then sends it back to amazon then goes on eBay and buys a broken one to send back to the graphics card company to get replaced . I say this because I bought a listed as new GC and when I got it was not in a factory sealed box and when i went to register it says the warranty was getting ready to expire already
Can we talk about seller protection too? That doesn’t exist. I was almost scammed selling a brand new 3060ti on eBay. I had it posted buy it now and it was paid right away. I shipped it via FedEx with insurance, but then a few days later I get a case opened against me with the buyer saying “I was shipped an empty box.” Obviously I shipped the card and luckily eBay was able to step in and I got to keep the money, but a lot of sellers are not so lucky and end up having to refund the buyer for this “empty box” scam. They’ll be out a card and money as well.
Yeah I almost got scammed buying a pc, and he wanted me to buy it through cash app but I bought it through eBay and he accepted the refund, but I didn’t buy it with cash app. I was tired of getting these scam things. So I built my pc myself
I got scammed on ebay the other day. Found a 3060ti listed for $499 and the sellers account looked legit so i figured id give it a shot. 30 mins after i paid the listing was removed and the seller just wouldn’t respond anymore. I got my money back a day later after talking to ebay support and ended up finding a ventus 3060ti for $570 the same day so it ended up working out.
I got scammed by buying a Z97 Gaming 3 motherboard and a i5 4690 and 8gb of ram DDR3 and the motherboard pins where the cpu gos pins were bent and I'm pretty sure one or two of the pins were broken
I just bought a PC on offer up about a couple months ago works fine still. It was 1,350 for a GeForce 3070 , Intel i710700 16 Gb ram , a 500 gb Samsung m.2 and a 1 tb ssd, it felt like a good price for the parts so I met up in person and payed cash just wondering if that was a good price or not
Got scammed $800+ trying to buy a 2070s off of a very convincing profile at FB Marketplace last year. Never again will I do bank transfers + shipping. Test, and getting it in person before paying from now on.
I almost fell for 3080 GPU scam on Offer Up. Scammer was selling it for 300 dollars, I had suspicions but when he wanted me to pay through Zelle and not directly through Offer Up I decided to not go through with it. Glad I did.
I got scammed from a different topic but it was 2,000 and I sent different payments through cashapp and PayPal, I called my bank and we had a police report on it so we just gave the bank (regions) the case number and the police officers information who took our police report and I got 1,800 back but I couldn’t get the PayPal one bc it was throughly friends and family
Ok so. Not Tech related, but scam related. I recently listed an item on marketplace and immediately got the exact same message from 2 separate accounts regarding paying via zelle. I assume it's a "whoops I paid too much, send me the difference back" scam.
the summer right before the 3000s series launch i came around a lot of sellers trying to scam people, i was looking for one of the 2080 models in one of my country's used items site and like 80% of the times the seller didnt want to share same day photos or videos, or they were kinda aggressive trying to know a shipping address without even discussing the gpu conditions and everything else before, neither want to make a face to face sell, then i gave up and pre-ordered an msi 3070 and got it on april of the next year, so 2021. After some time i decide to see if those sellers still were with their announcements online and nope, everything gone, even their accounts, so i think i made the right decision to just wait. (if you are wondering how much i paid the 3070, the msrp was 630 euros, i paid it 830)
I’ve had people offer to sell to me with “friends” and I always do “goods and service” and add the fee or ask seller to just split the cost of goods and service.
@@justinedge5061 guess my post didn’t make as much sense as I hoped. What I was trying to say is when I bought car parts online (shipped to me) I used to add the cost of the fees to my purchase price. ONLY use real websites to buy from and if your buying used ALWAYS use Paypal and NOT with the friends and family option. And heads up here is a tip: Used Graphics cards have NO WARRANTY at all. It doesn't matter where you buy them. The manufacturers only cover the original purchaser and the buyer who buys it used, the warranty does NOT FOLLOW IT TO YOU.

I got scammed In Texas from some total scammer From Conroe Texas. I paid via paypal and he was supposed to ship the FX processor to me. After I paid I never recieved a shipping notice or proof of shipping and I spent several weeks and messages of him saying he shipped it but no proof. I then contacted Paypal and submitted my issue to them.. Two weeks later they refunded my money.. Remember if your selling always ship where you can give a tracking Number. If not they can claim you never shipped it.. In this case it was prob some crack head wanting some fast cash .
you should remove the rgb swap link, the link is no longer to the site in your video, its to some other random site. it could be a scam and I don't think you want to promote it just in case.
Got scammed in 2019 before 30 series came out. Guy convinced me to send money via zelle for 2080 super via Zelle and then he went mia. Luckily, I was able get the money back from my bank.
Oh boy do i have a story for u! Got a 1070 for $150 from a guy AT his house btw. Now I'm pretty tech savvy and I love modding gpu, and because its so checp, I was expecting some sort of issue. The guy also painted the gpu shroud white. Plug it in. It boot and fan went full speed. Tried msi afterburner but fan is still at full speed. Research a bit but no help. So I decided it may be the bios, so I bricked it trying to change the bios. when i open the gpu and check the fan wire, I realize the guy connect them wrong. I brick a perfectly working 1070. Good lesson LOL
Well watching this I'm meeting a person for a free gpu with a r9 390 and a full pc with an additional free new motherboard being a gigabyte z590 I'm a bit concerned because he can technically sell it all for a good amount of money but he keeps saying he wants to grow the community if you want to know more I can share more
If you're meeting a person in real life there's not much to risk, just be wary if the person for whatever reason starts to ask for money in any amount at all. Be sure to update with what happens after the fact!
i actually got a fat w from offer up, i bought a 12600k for $310 after tax, tomorrow was the last day to return and today i saw a 12700k for $300 and i took the risk, thankfully the cpu was brand new and works perfectly. That could have gone wrong lol
The amount of people who spend exorbitant amounts of money when they don't have a job/savings is quite shocking. This is a hobby fellas don't ever spend money on something you can't afford to lose.
I was gunna part exchange a 3060 for a Suprim X 3070, I sent the money (£250), guy said that there was a “drug problem” with the shipping, I then never got any more replies and now the account doesn’t exist, really pissed, and now I have no money left, I spent all my money on that. (Only 15)
Cash is king my friend meeting up on Facebook or craigslist that is probably the best method but the only drawback is there’s no recourse once the money is exchanged there’s no going back but other than that it’s pretty safe

im a teenager so i cant recover the money i lose so when i have to buy something i always do my little investigation and even when everything looks good i still cant trust lmao. i protect my money as if it were my soul now im gonna buy a graphics card and i know more about the seller than himself xD (and it has buyer protection)
Gotta get on Jawa, iss all i'm saying ;D
Last three month ago I got scammed for free pc on RUclips creator. I send it to PayPal family and friends for shipping but I notice why I’m paying for shipping I knew it’s a scam the person keep asking for money for shipping so I flip him off. It’s sound good to be true but I notify creator about it and happened a lot so learned to be learn. Be careful don’t be scam free pc on RUclips.
U are the best in every kind!🎉
so glad i got a 3060 ti for practically free then found a xfx merc 6800xt did a trade and 250 for it my total cost was 500 bucks
i would like to say "why are ppl sending money ahead of time!?" but i got "got" once as well.
i tired to unlock a icloud locked iphone and DM'ed one of those accounts that claim to be able to unlock them.
thanks goodness i only send them $40 through cash app,i relaized fuck i fucked up when they asked for money to continue to the process claimed they needed to pay to get a code to unlock the phone further or some BS like that.
its not hard to read people and be smart only buy local and meet at public places and always test items and only buy from people that have reviews and sell history. EDIT this is something that can happen to anyone but be cautious trust no one
This is why i will never try and buy any tech except through actual well established business's. And never anything used, it's just to risky these days.
I once got scammed with a dead gtx 580, a couple of days later I somehow managed to sell the card for what I paid for it to the scammer's brother. When the guy messaged me and said it didn't work, I told him that his brother would make it right for him and then blocked him.
LOL, did you know these people in real life or something? How did it just happen the brother got in contact with you 😂
I got scammed In Texas from some total scammer From Conroe Texas.
Glad to hear you got your money back! I'm guessing this was craigslist/OfferUp/fbmarketplace?

you should remove the rgb swap link, the link is no longer to the site in your video, its to some other random site. it could be a scam and I don't think you want to promote it just in case.
Dat Pikachu card tho. He thicc! Scammers sux.
delta community credit union gave me back my money after I bought a gtx 1050ti for $80 and got ghosted

I only use zellle for my family
(Only 15)

wot r u talking about there's no recovery from a 500 loss working or not !! it hurts ,infact it f n hurts , i truly feel for ur loss dude
don't treat smaller amounts of money lost as recoverable no amount is it is lost I am on disability and it ALL hurts.
Cash is king my friend meeting up on Facebook or craigslist that is probably the best method but the only drawback is there’s no recourse once the money is exchanged there’s no going back but other than that it’s pretty safe
