So IT Admin here, love your videos great start for the hobbyist. When it comes to the "set-it, forget it, assume its dead" If any one parts broken assume the whole parts broken, it will save you so much time. So I 100% agree in your case, if you know your Windows installation has issues, and your not willing to figure out what the specific issue that's causing the problem. Assume the WHOLE OS is broken, reinstallation, repair tools, recovery partitions. It will save you time.
Your diagnoses and method of repair for Kevin's PC was right on. I don't think there is a better way to address the problems he was having. Good on you.
hey man. I really appreciate you doing this for kids who's parents cant do this normally. I can't tell you how hard it probably was for that Dad to let you help. Keep up the good content and the love my friend!
i seriously felt Kevin on these PC issues. i loved building my own, but i always either did something wrong, never did enough research, or got too excited about the prospect of a new computer and bought cheaper parts instead of saving. over the years i’ve kind of given up on PC’s. i still love content like this, but at this point and with a pretty limited budget it’s just been easier with consoles. you’re a great guy for helping this kid out, even giving him incentive to stay good in school. and who knows, maybe i’ll get a new one someday! much love!

As a young teen, fixing my pc with windows corrupted was a big struggle. I had like a three month period of my pc just sitting there. Finely fixing it I see why it is hard for fixing these issues, really finicky is all I can say. Rad Vid Btw
A friend gave me his PC last week because he couldn't get into windows. When I diagnosed it I saw that it was trying to repair C drive. Since it wouldn't boot up at all into windows the hard drive was curropted. Replaced it for him and boom easy fix. One thing Idk is how to fix the hard drive itself.
I have been watching for a bit now and love the content. It is refreshing to see people that are giving back. We often forget that with all we have that there are others that don't have as much.
He did his best in trying to resolve it with the steps you given him. He's a kid and may feel like he's going to do more harm then good working it. But good on you for fixing it for him, very honorable to help him after the fact. Not many people would have done that.
Good video. Reminds me of a guy who I take care of with his PC stuff. he is another streamer like me but he has no tech knowledge at all so I have to Team View him quite often to trouble shoot stuff since he lives 1000mi away from me lol. I have built him 2 PCs so far and if anything needs to be replaces if it is fairly simply I try to walk him through it as easy as possible while on the phone or using face time on his phone and he can show me things and then I can tell him exactly what to unplug and re plug in and so forth. If it is serious enough he will just ship the PC to me ill fix it and then send it right back. But I have to pretty much do everything for him haha, I even had to go in to Team View and set his Stream Deck up. But hey what ever it takes to get keep him going cuz he's a pretty successful streamer on twitch. But thoroughly enjoyed watching this! Keep up the good work!
I had an old HP Envy 13 which had to be erased.. did it using the built in tool and it was a wild ride.. but it did work for me But the USB option is much safer
I've helped so many people with PC issues remotely and so many times it comes down to corrupt windows files or installs. You said it well when you mentioned people that aren't familiar with PCs and troubleshooting, being met with a never ending black screen or boot loops/restart loops can be extremely panic educing for those that don't know how to remedy it. GG man
Seems like a flipped byte from the ram during windows update that totalled the windows install, XMP off for that kid seems like a permanent fix, since you want to collab with him in the future, it seem a good idea to teach him about bios update and ram settings. VEEAM agent is a free powerful tool that let you backup your windows install on another drive or network. It keep the difference each day so it's always the size of your windows install. Automatically run once a day at night (can be changed in options) should keep your file safe and has a meaning to get windows back and running without resetting all the log file, windows registry and saved games file. Don't forget to do the bootable emergency USB for booting VEEAM if a corrupt windows do occurs.
It's not all about solving the problem. You have to first diagnose what the problem actually is. And that can take time if you factor in every possibility
Have come across this kinda PC problem on a few calls recently. In the past, a system restore point has actually helped but other steps taken have included getting into a command prompt and running chkdsk /f /r on the affected drive, then sfc /scannow, then dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. I also throw in a bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /rebuildbcd in there. But the recent issues I've encountered, that hasn't worked. What its looked like is that some windows update had come through and something either interrupted the update or corrupted the update which then corrupted windows...more specifically the boot manager/bootup files. I spent hours on one job trying to manually recreate the BCD on a mission critical system to no avail. I had to clean install windows and figure out how to reinstall all the medical software the computer had and figure out how to re-activate all the licensing. So yeah, absolutely if the user says "i dont really need anything on it" then the best move in terms of time is definitely the "backup their user folder, reinstall windows, put the user folder files back in their spots" move. Keep up the hard work, Danny!
i had the same thing happen to me, come to find out one of my ram sticks was was failing and causing the problems. Now i replaced and it hasnt happened to me at all
I had the same thing, hardware all good but suddenly windows was corrupted and back up restore didn't work. Wiped it completely and then reinstalled windows.....flawless since that. So this seems to be fairly common these days:/
I swear I wish everyone was such understanding like u are you understand that people like us can fix our PCs or go to our spares and grab parts to see what’s the issue and know what we know from all the years of owning pc compared to the avg person exactly y my friends who want a pc I tell them ya it’s a great idea but don’t get mad if something happens to it then sell it these just have issues here and there and you just gotta fix it you got a great mindset n head wish more ppl were like u
usually you could get an entry level pc for about 250-300$ that can play all the new games at 60-120 fps now if you want to build a pc like this it's around 1200$
This happened to me about a year ago. I took it as an opportunity to take the main components out of the prebuilt I had and rebuilding it with a new motherboard and case. Backed up the drive and then reinstalled windows. From what I found it was more than likely a corrupted windows update.
If I were you, while benchmarking the system make sure you have like HWinfo or something along those lines and check the drive temp while benchmarking. Because my boot drive at the time was behind the motherboard, getting toasty warm. It was like 78 Celsius or something hot while gaming and I slammed the table due to gamer rage and my OS got corrupted and had to reinstall Windows from that slam.
I flip PCs too and i see corrupt drives come back all the time. Most of the time it's because people fail to properly shut down their system or caused by thunderstorm. I also recommend a quality surge protector.
I love this and the fact that you'll be getting him more hands on with the building process. I wish The kid is sweet and honestly, I'd have no problem fixing the PC for him. He's polite and not demanding. He was super appreciative of all Danny did to help. He has a good head on his shoulders and will go places. I love that Danny is staying in touch with him and can't wait to see the upgrade video. I wish I could buy his old GPU for my nephews tbh, lol. I haven't done used buys yet for GPUs. The 3 of them have GT 1030's. (Getting 3 of a thing gets expensive...fast...) Just waiting on the GPU shortage to end so I can buy things for more reasonable prices. Honestly, The only difference for me is I'd have given him a 2nd ssd for steam and other launchers and maybe his favorite game and told him not to download or install anything onto the C drive. That's what I do with my 3 oldest nephews. They know if they want to keep anything after a windows reinstall, it better not be on the C drive. I set chrome's default download location & set up steam epic etc to install on the non-C drives and tell them that I'm doing this and why. If they don't listen, their fault the info is lost. If they run out of space on the HDD that has their other stuff, I can always get more/bigger drives. Same with the extra SSDs. I purposefully get a small SSD for C because I DON'T want them to install things on it. Just for boot, nothing else. Reinstalling windows is so much easier when I'm not worried about data loss.
100% this. Small boot ssd, medium sized (~1 terabyte) gaming ssd, large library drive (current build has 12 tb of hdds in raid 5) is my go to. Also, next time you're looking for a budget gpu, nvidia quadro t400 is currently the same price as a gt 1030 for about 34% better gaming performance
Yeah none of the windows reset options work correctly reliably. It's in part because they don't ever do a full clean install (they work off of the drives partition and because they are working off of that partition if the partition is the damaged aspect of the install it'll just continue to be damaged). You are usually better off deleting the drive. Removing the partitions and creating a new full from scratch install.
I use a windows bootable USB from the start if I have any issues with the drive, takes 5 minutes max. If it doesn't work I can open a command window shift+F10 and run diskpart then clean the disk and format GPT. If all of that doesn't work then I replace the drive.
On my third pc now and I remember the days when the slightest issue would scare me because I couldn't fix anything. Now after trouble shooting so many times I feel so confident and easily solve issues like this whenever they arise.
Nice job Danny. Enjoyed you walking us through your troubleshooting process from start to finish. Btw @ 17:21 try the 'just remove my files' option next time. 'fully clean the drive' option, you're basically zero'ing out the entire drive before reinstalling Windows which takes much longer. Considering the computer is going straight back to Kevin, zeroing out the drive is probably not necessary. Cheers.
Very good video. I have had 1 very weird problem that I have never experienced before. I had an RX 580 8GB that ran 3 1080p monitors no problem but I upgraded to 3 4k monitors and I couldn't boot even with a 25MHz overclock on the stock DDR4 speed but as soon as I only had 1 4k monitor plugged in I could boot with XMP settings fine. I tried different HDMI and DP cables and no dice, fresh OS install and once again no dice. I even tried each version of display drivers and couldn't boot with XMP. The last thing I tried was upgrading my GPU to something little newer and the problem gone away A 2nd very weird problem I have had in the past was a bad HDMI cable that was causing the system to hard lock up and not give a single report as to what happened. Thankfully that problem I had someone ended up happen to them and I suggested the cable and everyone was arguing with me that its not that because HDMI cables don't go bad but the person having the problem listened to me and it was the exact problem. So when Danny said there can be weird things that happen they sure can. So be nice to those that aren't tech savvy and even think that it could possibly be a cable causing all of the problems.
This is a new guy to me. And he seems to be reasonable and likeable. And I do like his stream. I just started watching him, and he seems to know his stuff. I think I'll keep watching!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had the same problem and the problem was the SSD, replaced it with a nvme one when I figure out it supports the mobo and it's been two years no problem so far. Ended up the 1st SSD as my 2nd drive for games and it works perfect.
I had same problem, i saved all my mods on another drive then just wiped the pc totally and reinstalled windows, i didn't try everything restore, all the other ways nothing just hung up everytime, best to start fresh, plus after a year of using a pc unless you're very careful its best to start fresh i feel
For inexperienced people they should definitely use the reset option. People don't know how to install drivers and windows updates sometimes can be slow or cannot get all the drivers.
the built in tool is hit or miss . when the installation is pretty old i use the USB option without even trying the repair option . or windows will need to install a huge amount of updates .
You deserve much more subscribers, The way you motivate this kid is amazing ! Love the way you do this! Also, Thumb Drives are the best way to re-install windows, because if there is 1 little corrupt file in windows it cant recover or Re-install from the tool thats inside the windows it selff, One thing that i notice you haven't tried is this, getting back into the "windows recovery tool" Use the Thumb Drive icon, And restore the windows by using the thumb drive, Its much easier and quicker, It detects fast the corrupted file and restore it to default. Way easier and faster, But overall the method you did is also a good option! but its only annoying you by the files that might be important to back-up, Love your way of motivating this kid! Thats a +1 Sub ! Keep it up!

Hey mate, I've run into this issue a lot and it's mainly due to people deleting system files. Also compressing there system os ssd it dose the exact same thing. There are really good repair tools out there that find the missing link in the boot system if you wanted to go down that rabbit hole, best thing to do is take files off that are needed and do a fresh re installation. Love th content you do man. Much love from Australia 🇦🇺
I think it is really awesome that you not only gave this PC away but also repair it for him a year later. You are a good voice for nerds everywhere. I do have a minor suggestion for you moving forward. Instead of plugging a customers ssd into your PC use Hiren's PE USB boot drive on the customer PC and plug in your external drive into the customer PC for backing up files. You will be glad you did if you ever plug in a drive that has a nasty bug on it and you AV software doesn't catch it. Better safe than sorry.
If a pc isn’t setup right and optimized by somebody that knows what there doing it’s gonna have problems windows causes so many issues. Lots of small things all combined can make ur pc feel like crap. Consistent basic maintanence makes a world of difference.
the windows repair helped about 1 time out of 5-6 times i used it, the other times i just tried to let it fix minimal problems, like the search of windows didnt work anymore or a currupted registry! but i also need to note i never keept the files since i knew it wouldnt work if i did but... yeah it never really fixed many things related towards windows, since it seems like windows kinda restored, what was already there and since it was in this state, already broken it mostly broke even more... the one time it worked was as you mentioned when a driver was currupted and i couldnt get it completly of the system, so it can help but it can also currupt even more, as i did in another kind of instance, where the same thing happened but it just shut down or didnt wanted to install windows correctly anymore, maybe becasue of the previous driver interferring in any kind of way if thats even possible... but i also found that atleast in win10 it was so that most problems where coming just from windows updates alone and even 11 seems to be non the wiser since my dads pc also got the broken search now telling him his registry got currupted which is prabably also only be fixable by a complete new install...
Whenever I've encountered a OS doing this, I just slave the drive on another machine and use a good working booted windows OS to scan the drive for problems. In many cases, another windows OS can find solutions on a separate drive before it can fix itself. Processes windows use for repairs have to be loaded without errors, if it can't load that then it has a difficult time repairing its own OS, where as a good install on a primary drive won't have those issues. All it takes it one specific corrupted file and windows is screwed. Of course when all else fails, a clean install is definitely a 100 percent solution and easier. Since I started with computers 20 plus years ago, I've never done without a windows OS for any installation I needed at very minimal cost... unfortunately not everyone has that option without major cost.
Curious how you handle "warranty" issues. If you build or flip a PC and sell it, what is your practice for support and warranty of hardware. I ask because I have built a number of PCs. Mostly they have gone to family and were free to them. It was primarily about me learning and enjoying building PCs, then not having any real use for them on a day to day basis. However, it was also because I was reluctant to sell them, first because there is nothing much other than ebay or Craig's list around here and I didn't want to have to ship with the potential of damage, second because of "support" and warranty on parts and on the build as a whole. I could be sure it was working when it left my hands, but after that, I have no control and I don't have parts to substitute. Recently though, I did sell or rather just accept money for a PC I built. I sold it at a significant discount over the cost to me to help out a relative's friend and get someone going on gaming, especially in these rough times for hardware. So far, it's been fine, the person is a friend of a relative and nearby, so it's not as much of an issue. Having said all that, I'm curious how you handle this.
I do a lot of RAM overclocking. I've nuked more than a few windows installs during testing. I've had the reset tool work maybe 50℅ of the time but as you've said, a straight install is faster.
I too ran to this similar issues, I also do overclocking especially CPU, GPU and RAM. I notice when i overclock the RAM from 3200Mhz to 3600Mhz it work fine after the next boot Windows could not boot or error 0x000001d something. Anyways it is a possibility that is a RAM corruption, you can try do a RAM test see there's any error. Also Mechanical spinning drives and SSDs work differently, SSD has a feature called overprovisioning, even though it does not tell you to leave like 10-15% of the SSD capacity unformatted/unallocated, SSD will not work properly with out it, or it will wear out your SSD much faster. If you want to know more about SSD Overprovisioning, google that term. Anyways it gets interesting when problem gets into deeper then gets solved eventually.
@@DavidHernandez-oz4me So XMP is okay in regards to increasing frequency. I fully tune my ram. Currently running 4500CL 16-17-17-28 on a 10900KF. There are several timings that increase bandwidth and decrease latency that are not included in XMP. When I tune a kit I run several stress and performance test to make sure what I'm changing actually improves performance. I am aware that not everyone has the time or desire to do this, for myself its fun. I have made friends with many people who also enjoy it.
I'd also like to add, that someone with say an 11400, 10400, 3600 or other cpu would probably gain more by tuning their ram on say a b560 or b450/b550 board. Anything that can help the CPU access information faster is a plus.
I gotta say, I’ve had this problem happen to me before and more, I went on a binge and finally came to the solution that I had a recovery state that was hard to find because it didn’t register it and it helped, the second computer I was downloading wrecked fest and the game mid download fried my ssd 1tb which in all test failed I ended up getting the fastest 2tb ssd 😢 expensive. Also I just found your channel and gotta say very interesting it’s like watching someone else go through what I have in different ways.
im still in 8:30 but a quick fix i would think of executing is the ez erase tool on msi bios that erases all files from ssd(if u r using one) and then fresh install windows
Hey Danny, I appreciate the work you do, and the kind heart that you have towards helping people. You're an example the things I love most in the PC enthusiast community. Keep and the great work, and I am committed to supporting your efforts as much as I can.
Built computers and stuff when I was a kid, and then spent 10+ years as a computer technician working in a repair shop, I agree with your opinion on "just google it" being unhelpful, and that "Startup Repair" almost never does anything... Reinstalling Windows is nearly always the answer, after you've determined if there is actually any faulty hardware (used to ALWAYS be the HDD, and now it's sometimes the SSD or the RAM).
it's funny watching it, I remember situations very much like this... eventually I learned to simply skip using built-in tools etc and use clean media... also it reminds me of another saying we had in those days: "You need another computer to fix a computer"
Completely agree if you ever done trouble shooting with a modern pc. It can be anything from a Short to bad drives to corrupted os. Trying to trouble shoot an issue I had awhile back I should of just gave it to local shop owner to fix it. he found out it was the motherboard in a few days. Took about a month cause I was trying to trouble shoot why it kept crashing. Trouble shooting isn't for everyone lol.
Hi Danny. I absolutely love your videos. Helping that young guy out, was totally awesome too. Must have been very rewarding indeed. Anyway, you know the first thing that I would have tried, since there were multiple issues with his computer would have been to reset the CMOS. I find that when everything is going wonky that often fixes the issue. Have a great New Year friend.😁

Yes, I never use the reset tool built in on Windows, I always reset my PC with the Windows Media Creation Tool running the Windows Installer on a USB and wiping my disks fully doing a clean install. Resetting through USB is also much faster than through Windows.
G'day Danny & Kevin, Awesome Job with those Grades Kevin, So many kids say why do I need to learn this or that but doing your best at school is very Important as you have no idea what your future holds & as you get older your interests change so what may not be important to you now educationally may be very important when you are older, Best Wishes to achieve your Dreams. In the last year one of my neighbours sons has had multiple instances of RX480 Driver Updates leaving the GPU Uninstalled, but not to the Extreme of OS Crashing, Just needed to run DDU then a Fresh Download from AMD. This situation is why I prefer the buy a Small SSD/M.2 for just OS & then Large HDD/SSD/M.2 for Storage of everything rather than just a 1TB M.2 for OS & Storage like many channels suggest, if the OS Fails like this it is so much easier to fix with a Fresh OS & Program Install with Library Relinks than the what can be hours of Problem Solving. Ps a R5 3600/5600X + RX6600 would be an Awesome upgrade when Prices are better or if AMD or one of the Partners feel Obliged, Kevin has earned it with his hard work 😁
What's strange is literally the EXACT same thing happened like this to my friend pc that i built for him. The ssd got corrupted somehow, same symptoms when booting as the one in this video. I also did the same thing, reinstall window and every worked fine..... very interesting
checking if it boots to Safe mode then checking event viewer logs around the time of last sucessfull boot and shutdown (while in possession of the user) often reveals what actually happened (asking the customer when it started happening can help backtrack in the logs too & isolate the issues). it also gives you the chance to run virus and malware scans... but utilizing the logs is a good way to ensure its not something that will repeat itself. ultimately if the guy did something stupid then knowing about it can help educate on not repeating the same mistakes. Reinstalling windows without doing the basics to check root cause can lead to repeating the same failure, using the logs if they are accessible is just good practice. Ive been able to diagnose hardware issues from the logs and replace bad ram etc... its just an extra tool to ensure you fix it first time and nothing is wrong with figuring out if the customer installed some bad juju so you can advise them if needed. Ive unknowingly restored malware executables or badly written software or drivers in peoples profiles (download folder or documents etc) in the past after reinstalls only to have them run the same files again and screw up their system twice... so being a little more thorough in determining root cause can save a lot time in the end. Scanning the user profile and everything you plan to restore with a good malware and virus scanner is solid advice. That said 30 years fixing and repairing electronics, Cars and PCs teaches the value of being thorough is in not having to fix it twice and also assisting customers in avoiding self inflicted gunshot wounds is also helpful . I always see my role and a repair as an opportunity to educate someone as well ... the value add often saves repeat issues in the future as does "help someone to help themselves" Food for thought if the issue comes back and kudos for avoiding the mindset that the user should know all this already... Definitely the best approach. I dont expect a neurologist to know my job anymore than i expect myself to know theirs.. not to say it's not fascinating or that either is incapable,,just you can only learn so much 😊
I have been building pc’s for 24 years. Startup repair worked one time. Luckily i have been doing this long enuf. I dont need to google. Been doin it since before google. Back in the day when i was learning my friends dad was my google. He was army trained on computers.
I bought A secondhand PC summer 2022 and the whole PC was Build in 2021 with the midrange parts at that time, and I got it Quite Cheap, cuz i think the owner had alot of software issues. And yes problems upon problems could always boot into Windows tho, but alot of random reboot crashing during Gaming and big softwares did weird shit with the PC and I have zero knowledge about both building and software, but took me A half a year and 1 by 1 I fixed and teaked every issues so the PC working great again :) and I had to reinstall OS 3 times xD
I have NEVER had the system repair tool work for me. I have a dedicated windows usb stick. And I bring it with me when I troubleshoot friends and families PCs.
Wouldn’t puppy linux possibly work to repair the pc? What you could have done is if you have a spare USB thumb drive flash an image onto into and boot from the Linux boot drive to start the repair process.
in about 20:40 i had the same problem but installing windows 7 thru network, everything seemed fine until this message popped up, i checked the ssd health thru "Victoria" and it was the ssd's problem, changed the ssd and everything installed normally
i had a similar problem with my 1650... when ever i would install a driver it would corrupt my windows leaving me no choice but to format my drive all i needed to do was remove the drivers installed on my gpu and i was good

We've disagreed in the past, but crap like this is why I subscribe to your channel. You are a good guy. Keep it up.
I've had mixed results going into command prompt and running sfc/scannow but yeah pulling the data and doing a fresh install is the way to go
I've has success with sfc/scannow, with the only time it failed to fix my issue being that my hard drive was actually dying
Was hoping he used sfc/scannow.
that and the dism commands can be useful for sure
i seriously felt Kevin on these PC issues. i loved building my own, but i always either did something wrong, never did enough research, or got too excited about the prospect of a new computer and bought cheaper parts instead of saving. over the years i’ve kind of given up on PC’s. i still love content like this, but at this point and with a pretty limited budget it’s just been easier with consoles. you’re a great guy for helping this kid out, even giving him incentive to stay good in school. and who knows, maybe i’ll get a new one someday! much love!
Why don't you just buy a laptop the components are easy to work with but building a PC is better than a laptop more of a thrill
@@speeik i used to have a laptop, i traded it for an Xbox Series X because the console would run my games better than the laptop. I also just don’t have the money or time for it, the consoles nice because i can sit on the couch and play with my girlfriend on the tv
@@goodnight2925 yeah if you want a laptop that runs better than a PS5/xsx than expect to spend at least 750-800
thats so nice that ya spent your time to fix his pc and ya kept in touch with kevin and his grades are quite good so well done him
As a young teen, fixing my pc with windows corrupted was a big struggle. I had like a three month period of my pc just sitting there. Finely fixing it I see why it is hard for fixing these issues, really finicky is all I can say. Rad Vid Btw
How did you fix it?
A friend gave me his PC last week because he couldn't get into windows. When I diagnosed it I saw that it was trying to repair C drive. Since it wouldn't boot up at all into windows the hard drive was curropted. Replaced it for him and boom easy fix. One thing Idk is how to fix the hard drive itself.
Awesome video man helping that dude is great hell remember you forever.
I'm sure Danny knew the prob and the solution but wanted to show us how it feels when we troubleshoot. love your vids! keep em coming!
he for sure knew
I have been watching for a bit now and love the content. It is refreshing to see people that are giving back. We often forget that with all we have that there are others that don't have as much.
Great content as usual Danny! Wholesome and informative at the same time.
Keep up the good work!
seeing how helpful and genuine you are i just couldnt help not subbing to you. Keep being awesome man!
I had an old HP Envy 13 which had to be erased.. did it using the built in tool and it was a wild ride.. but it did work for me
But the USB option is much safer
I actually had this problem with my pc when I first got it. Glad you got it fixed!
You telling me a solar ray hit the ram stick and flipped a byte?
the last few months of windows 10 updates have killed many PCs
Somehow this man made a 30 minute video about a simple windows reinstall... Yet I enjoyed it all, well done
It's not all about solving the problem. You have to first diagnose what the problem actually is. And that can take time if you factor in every possibility
@@fumetsu-950 Yep. In order to solve a problem, you must first know the problem. In order to solve a question, you must first ask the right question.
You're a good person. Thank you. It often helps to know people like you exist.
This is truly amazing. I wish I was able to afford a pc my self maybe in a couple years keep up the good work man!!!
me too , my country is not in a good economic situation and the usa sanctions put a lot of pressure on us 😭☹️
usually you could get an entry level pc for about 250-300$ that can play all the new games at 60-120 fps now if you want to build a pc like this it's around 1200$
You continue to set such a good example, dude. Thank you.
78°C is a little warm yeah, but yeah try not to slam when your hard drive head is moving
Great Work and Good Job
I flip PCs too and i see corrupt drives come back all the time. Most of the time it's because people fail to properly shut down their system or caused by thunderstorm. I also recommend a quality surge protector.
Really lucky kid! Keep up the good content bro.
I had this same issue where it wouldn’t boot, crazy thing is, that it was my cpu fan. I replaced it and now it works perfectly
I love this and the fact that you'll be getting him more hands on with the building process. I wish
The kid is sweet and honestly, I'd have no problem fixing the PC for him. (Getting 3 of a thing gets expensive...fast...)
Just waiting on the GPU shortage to end so I can buy things for more reasonable prices.
Newish to this channel, but this is pretty solid content. Down to earth, real and humble.
I remember watching the last video like a year ago, its fun to see a sequel
Cheers.
Very nice you helped him out. His grades are really good, maybe next year when prices have settled down, you can help him upgrade his PC.
The last thing I tried was upgrading my GPU to something little newer and the problem gone away
A 2nd very weird problem I have had in the past was a bad HDMI cable that was causing the system to hard lock up and not give a single report as to what happened.
Nice to see an update on Kevin and his progress academically.
This is a new guy to me. And he seems to be reasonable and likeable. And I
do like his stream.
Thank you for the tips, always informative. Always have a nice day!
I love that you just have an entire pc in your trunk. Thats sick man! So happy to see your videos :)
he seems like a good kid, great content and excellent troubleshooting
You deserve much more subscribers, The way you motivate this kid is amazing ! Love the way you do this! Also, Thumb Drives are the best way to re-install windows, because if there is 1 little corrupt file in windows it cant recover or Re-install from the tool thats inside the windows it selff, One thing that i notice you haven't tried is this,
getting back into the "windows recovery tool" Use the Thumb Drive icon, And restore the windows by using the thumb drive, Its much easier and quicker, It detects fast the corrupted file and restore it to default. Way easier and faster, But overall the method you did is also a good option! but its only annoying you by the files that might be important to back-up,
Love your way of motivating this kid! Thats a +1 Sub ! Keep it up!
That's why I have been sticking to laptops.. They are mostly made by bits that works great together.. Most of the time.. All hp laptops I've had the last 10 years, have been and are still working to this date.. My latest 2918 Omen 15" runs like a freaking champ, never any issues.. Not even heat issues🤷
Why not just turn the ram xmp profile on? Just a cheap but high frecuency motherboard could handle a 4000mhz with the xmp on.
@@DavidHernandez-oz4me somtimes it runs the RAM at a frequency not supported by the motherboard.
Very cool of you bro, much respect
I gotta say, I’ve had this problem happen to me before and more, I went on a binge and finally came to the solution that I had a recovery state that was hard to find because it didn’t register it and it helped, the second computer I was downloading wrecked fest and the game mid download fried my ssd 1tb which in all test failed I ended up getting the fastest 2tb ssd 😢 expensive. Also I just found your channel and gotta say very interesting it’s like watching someone else go through what I have in different ways.
That is so sweet and this gave me encouragement to get good in school!
im still in 8:30 but a quick fix i would think of executing is the ez erase tool on msi bios that erases all files from ssd(if u r using one) and then fresh install windows
your a great guy man much respect
Hey Danny, I appreciate the work you do, and the kind heart that you have towards helping people. You're an example the things I love most in the PC enthusiast community. Keep and the great work, and I am committed to supporting your efforts as much as I can.
thank you for making this video. made me find out what was the issue with a pc I also gave a kid for free.
sooo u gave a kid for free?
Built computers and stuff when I was a kid, and then spent 10+ years as a computer technician working in a repair shop, I agree with your opinion on "just google it" being unhelpful, and that "Startup Repair" almost never does anything... Reinstalling Windows is nearly always the answer, after you've determined if there is actually any faulty hardware (used to ALWAYS be the HDD, and now it's sometimes the SSD or the RAM).
it's funny watching it, I remember situations very much like this... eventually I learned to simply skip using built-in tools etc and use clean media... also it reminds me of another saying we had in those days: "You need another computer to fix a computer"
kudos for you for rewarding this young man that appears to be putting in the effort to excel at school..
I completely agree with you on windows repair tool. Had to wait an eternity once and never again. Using bootable usb ever since.
its really good like how you fix the computer ..some videos in youtube are not like this and detail but somehow you did it like I wanted to seen..
This was an amazing video Danny Like Always. You're really a hell of a person that really cares about people.
Can’t wait for the upgrade build video

Worth watching this more than watching the SuperBowl. Thank you for wholesome and quality content here.
Damn I wish I had someone like you bro keep up the good work
Yes, I never use the reset tool built in on Windows, I always reset my PC with the Windows Media Creation Tool running the Windows Installer on a USB and wiping my disks fully doing a clean install. Resetting through USB is also much faster than through Windows.
G'day Danny & Kevin,
Awesome Job with those Grades Kevin, So many kids say why do I need to learn this or that but doing your best at school is very Important as you have no idea what your future holds & as you get older your interests change so what may not be important to you now educationally may be very important when you are older, Best Wishes to achieve your Dreams.
What's stranger is this is exactly what's happening to me rn 🤨
Guess I'm reinstalling rip
Oh and the "workaround" seems to be to turn power supply off and back on and then go straight to bios then boot into windows drive from there
checking if it boots to Safe mode then checking event viewer logs around the time of last sucessfull boot and shutdown (while in possession of the user) often reveals what actually happened (asking the customer when it started happening can help backtrack in the logs too & isolate the issues). it also gives you the chance to run virus and malware scans... but utilizing the logs is a good way to ensure its not something that will repeat itself. ultimately if the guy did something stupid then knowing about it can help educate on not repeating the same mistakes.
I always see my role and a repair as an opportunity to educate someone as well ... the value add often saves repeat issues in the future as does "help someone to help themselves"
Food for thought if the issue comes back and kudos for avoiding the mindset that the user should know all this already... Definitely the best approach. I dont expect a neurologist to know my job anymore than i expect myself to know theirs.. not to say it's not fascinating or that either is incapable,,just you can only learn so much 😊
You can install all you like. Sounds like the HD on his last leg! - I will just replace the HD and put into new window and start from there!
I have been building pc’s for 24 years. Startup repair worked one time. Luckily i have been doing this long enuf. I dont need to google. Been doin it since before google. Back in the day when i was learning my friends dad was my google. He was army trained on computers.
Truly useful information given in a way that is easy to understand, Thank you Brother.
It is refreshing to see today.
I bought A secondhand PC summer 2022 and the whole PC was Build in 2021 with the midrange parts at that time, and I got it Quite Cheap, cuz i think the owner had alot of software issues. And yes problems upon problems could always boot into Windows tho, but alot of random reboot crashing during Gaming and big softwares did weird shit with the PC and I have zero knowledge about both building and software, but took me A half a year and 1 by 1 I fixed and teaked every issues so the PC working great again :)
and I had to reinstall OS 3 times xD
You hit the jackpot in the little mans heart, What a bro move
I've used the tool before. It usually sucks but I've had 2 successes with it where it did everything correctly and took about 15 min to reset.
I always use my usb install media, Always... 🤗 Also great video ✨ I love troubleshooting 👍
Bro you are such a down to earth person keep it up
I have NEVER had the system repair tool work for me.
