@@maniacram It's a good setup, but I would say not to mix males and females. I made the mistake of wanting a sustainable Endler population, but now I have way too many and where I live I'm having a hard time getting people or pet stores to take them lol. They breed crazy fast, honestly an Endler will give birth to 10-20 babies live and 8 to 18 of them will make it to adulthood no problem. Own one female for 6 months and you'll have 100 endlers! The shrimp though, heck yeah. They're amazing, I'd recommmend a powdered shrimp food though like GlasGarten BacterAE. If you have some decent plants in there and change the water every few weeks the plants will filter out all the waste and the water change will keep the hardness good for breeding. They can handle 200 or more tds but they like to breed a lot lower, really as low as you can. They say not to go under 60, but really it's hard to go lower unless you're using distilled or RO water. DON'T get mystery snails, really any snails unless they're nerites which are teeny, slow, and one or two for the whole tank would do a good job keeping the glass clean, the shrimp do the rest. They can get outcompeted super fast by any snail other than nerites. One last thing, if at all possible setting up the tank and having the endlers and stuff in it for a month before getting the shrimp will help the survival rate massively. They're not super difficult to own or anything, but having them shipped to you is pretty tough on them, having a nice set up tank ahead of time actually does make a difference. Sorry if this was long, but I just thought I'd give you the tips that made a difference for me. This stuff is all around the web, but these are just kind of verified things that worked well for me.

Oh wow, I'm seeing the comments and some are getting really salty because of the acclimating matter for the fish. Just for you to know guys, I saw previous videos of him before he did this one, and he knows that he got to acclimate the fish before putting them into the tank, it's really possible that he just didn't show the acclimating process unlike his other videos, and maybe that's because the video itself it's already long, youtube terms I guess. I saw the fish going in the tank and didn't see any in shock when they got it, so mostly they're fine because they were already acclimated. This guy is really nice and I don't think he'll do that kind of damage to the fish he got, or any other living thing in general. Peace.

I really hope you floated the fish before just dumping them in there, I manage a Pet Store and used to be an Aquatic Technician, fish are kinda my thing It’s required that the employees at the pet store I manage tell customers to ALWAYS acclimate your fish for at least an hour before release. I recommend you go get some Ghost Shrimp and maybe some Chocolate Shrimp to help with tank maintenance, that toothbrush hurt my soul
Well acclimation is not always necessary if they’re coming from one of your nearby tanks. Funny enough, fish are *also* Mike’s thing. And sometimes if you want to clean the algae right then and there a toothbrush is better than a shrimp.

as a fish store employee, thats how we transfer all our fish into tanks. we float/drip acclimate first but the quickest and least stressful method is to drop them all in a net and let them go
Years ago i had an 80gal aquarium. It had about 30 zebra danios, 50 neon tetras (3 different colours if I remember correctly), 5-6 different types of cichlid, 3 different sharks, 2 blue cray fish and 4-5 crab. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Normally the cichlids aren’t compatible but all the smaller fish (2 different species) would stay all schooled together Moving around the tank in a group and The cichlids would generally leave them alone. The best part about the crayfish and the crab is that they clean the bottom of the tank even any fish that die.
If I had that tank I would have put Xiphophorus helleri fish in. In swedish we call them svärdbärare/swordbearers. Theyre a bit larger than your fish (but not Large either) so I dont know hos that would work with the fish you have. I know nothing about aquarium fishes predators, behaviours at all. But swordbearers ,I have no idea what theyre called in english, are fun since they have live baby fishes at least the red/orange ones. Thats a beautiful aquarium.

A few hours???? That amount of time is super redundant and will just cause stress. You let them temperature acclimate for 30 minutes to an hour, not for several hours.

I hope you acclimated the fish before putting them in the tank and you waay overstocked the tank. Also - why do you scream all the time
another thing I didn't think to mention to you, pseudomugil (blue eye rainbows) would also do a nice job in the top- not sure if they would be as suitable for the open top. or oooo- rosy loaches!! Petruichthys sp. rosy or Micronemacheilus cruciatus (dwarf zebra hovering loach)!!!

If they're OK with the rasboras I'd say a colorful king betta (but I'm biased because Bettas are my favorite fish almost every tank I put together has a betta centerpiece). I think if you're going for that ancient garden effect a single gorgeous Male betta would be like an ancient forest guardian or dragon. Or you could have a sorority of females for a really cool look with some nice variety of color palettes

I think a good beautiful centerpiece fish to add that won’t bother the little ones would be a dwarf gourami. They’re very active, stay quite small at around 2 and a half inches, and is a unique looking fish with stunning coloration.

I have several Emerald Eye Rasboras. They are the tightest schooling fish I have ever kept. They are very interesting to watch. They have actually replaced Neon Tetras as my favorite fish to keep. I would love to see a large school of them in your aquarium

Honestly I like that Foo and Mike have some kind of connection in terms of videos but the onslaught of fans coming from him are so so so judgemental on Mike for not acclimating his fish and killing a few accidentally and saying how Foo is miles better than him when Mike has a lot more tanks under his wing....makes me want to stop watching Foo (although I’ll never do that). I like your concept of scale keeping the fish small in contrast with the layout of the tank (I usually think more along the lines of general composition of the layout, but scale is a part of that). Cool aquarium.
That Flipper Max algae scraper is really cool! I know you've taken a bit of a beating from some commenters so I'll be gentle. I don't mind the talking because you do explain why you added the fish the way that you did and explain a lot more that I found helpful. It's been awhile since I kept fish, but I thought the general rule for fish capacity was 1 gallon of water = 1 inch of fish. This may be different now, or maybe different because of the living plants in your tank and/or filtering system? As far as acclimating the fish first, if I didn't have a spare tank to quarantine my new fish, I would hang their bags in the tank to let the temp equal out, then add 1/2 to 1 cup of aquarium water to the bag, then proceed as you did. I'm not giving you a hard time re: your method, as I believe 1) these little fish are pretty hardy (I believe); and 2) it's more important to quarantine new fish if you already have an established tank and are not sure of your new fish source. Since there were just a couple cory cats in there, I think you're safe. However, I do believe you have too many fish in the tank. Yes, it's big at 167 gallons (?), but that would mean 167 inches of fish - at least to my reckoning. The tank set up is stunning and beautiful. I know this vid was posted over a year ago, but I would love to see how it's doing now. Thanks for sharing!
With that kind of an epic setup, I personally would want fish with more predominant color so I can see them while I’m sitting on the couch. Like some neons or cardinals.

Adding this many fish at once can cause an ammonia spike. Glad that didn't happen...

That tank turned out beautiful man! I remember when you first set it up and I wasnt to sure if I liked it to much. But now that it has had a chance to grow in it looks amazing! Great work!
For some reason in my 10g I cannot get Monte Carlo, or baby tears or really any carpet plants to grow. Any advice? I did try c02 for a little while but it didn’t seem to help. Light is a FluvalSmart 2.0 “ plant “ led with gravel bottom.
I always liked the neon tetras, colorful but unassuming little guys, great schooling fish.

This is such a beautiful tank! Hair/string algae isn't even unsightly in this set up.

I have several Emerald Eye Rasboras. They are the tightest schooling fish I have ever kept. They are very interesting to watch. They have actually replaced Neon Tetras as my favorite fish to keep. I would love to see a large school of them in your aquarium

I actually feel like the fish he added were ridiculously too small that's beautiful you should have put fewer than "300" and put together many different species that could live together and hide from each other big and small and idk why you didn't add bottom dwellers that's trees and grass... Do 2 blue and red discus a red and blue full moon betta only one of those get 3 blue oranda gold fish and about 9 or 10 neon blue and red tetras and throw in like 5 solid red albino guppies and that my dear is the perfect fish scape for that beautiful landscape you have 😂🎉❤❤❤

Honestly I like that Foo and Mike have some kind of connection in terms of videos but the onslaught of fans coming from him are so so so judgemental on Mike for not acclimating his fish and killing a few accidentally and saying how Foo is miles better than him when Mike has a lot more tanks under his wing....makes me want to stop watching Foo (although I’ll never do that). So toxic

I like your concept of scale keeping the fish small in contrast with the layout of the tank (I usually think more along the lines of general composition of the layout, but scale is a part of that). Cool aquarium.

You could try and find some speices of whiptail catfish like the Royal Whiptail Farlowella to be a hidden dragon in your forest.
That Flipper Max algae scraper is really cool! I know you've taken a bit of a beating from some commenters so I'll be gentle. I don't mind the talking because you do explain why you added the fish the way that you did and explain a lot more that I found helpful. It's been awhile since I kept fish, but I thought the general rule for fish capacity was 1 gallon of water = 1 inch of fish. This may be different now, or maybe different because of the living plants in your tank and/or filtering system? As far as acclimating the fish first, if I didn't have a spare tank to quarantine my new fish, I would hang their bags in the tank to let the temp equal out, then add 1/2 to 1 cup of aquarium water to the bag, then proceed as you did. I'm not giving you a hard time re: your method, as I believe 1) these little fish are pretty hardy (I believe); and 2) it's more important to quarantine new fish if you already have an established tank and are not sure of your new fish source. Since there were just a couple cory cats in there, I think you're safe. However, I do believe you have too many fish in the tank. Yes, it's big at 167 gallons (?), but that would mean 167 inches of fish - at least to my reckoning. The tank set up is stunning and beautiful. I know this vid was posted over a year ago, but I would love to see how it's doing now. Thanks for sharing!
With that kind of an epic setup, I personally would want fish with more predominant color so I can see them while I’m sitting on the couch. Like some neons or cardinals.
