You can get an easy unblockable reset with him. When you combo and he lands in front of you, start the cage when they're mid-air. While they're getting up, go for the grab. It doesn't matter if they block or not, it'll knock them into the cage, then you can combo again.

He’s already pretty decent, you’ve just got to find workarounds for his downsides. I personally like to use F2 FK Sareena to make space. You can mash on him like crazy if you get close though.
FUN FACT: Mashing buttons during a fatal will Increase damage. EX: (Mileenas fatal rises to 388 if you mash buttons). Or it decrease damage if you mash buttons during the opponents fatal. If both parties mash the damage will depend on whom mashes quicker
Quan chi only has one mid and it’s slow af which is the skeleton move, most of his highs should be mids and they’re all punishable, he needs buffs if anything
Personally I think Quan Chi is in need of buffs and is one of the weakest characters in the game. His biggest strength are his projectiles which I consider to be the second best in game. I think shang tsung has the best projectiles. But aside from that he is not very good. He does not have a single string that gives him plus frames besides the fully charged overhead which has a super long start up. The rest of his strings are either negative or 0 for his frames. His meterless damage is better than I thought after watching this video, but is still not great up close. Overall I just wanted to say what I think about the character and that I feel like he definitely needs buffs. Also I like using scorpion as the kameo because he makes Quan Chi more fun up close. But like seriously, statistically speaking if I fight a Johnny Cage as Quan Chi I am losing that matchup. I just have to hope that the Johnny makes enough mistakes for me to win.
I will give a credit for NRS for not releasing a DLC character that's so OP to encourage people to buy it then nerf it to the ground, he is more like a technical character with options and combos, but weak in close-up matches with poor frames, it seems fair for a character to be strong in some situations but weak in others.

Subzero works great with Quan Chi too. You can zone uninterrupted with enemy projectiles, and the freeze is great combo extension and trap set up
Why isn’t summer tan Quan Chi a selectable gear piece, and we are stuck with bleached skin Quan Chi?
