Loved my New F1. I travelled the world several times over on assignments for advertising agencies with my bag of F1. In my camera bag I had 2 x New -F1, 2 x winders, assorted top lenses and a Polaroid back, plus a A1 body as a back up. The New F1 is built like a tank! Thank you for sharing the vconcise video and reminding how beautiful these cameras were built. Built to last forever, only the technology has drastically changed.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm guessing you never had to use your backup A1 because your F-1s are so durable. Technology has changed but these old cameras will outlast the newer ones.
That's a tough question to answer. Both are so different. The original F-1 would probably get my vote. However, the New F-1 would come in a distant third place if you were to ask me about the New F-1, Nikon F3, and Pentax LX. The LX easily takes first.
@@deadshot640 Yeah, the LX is an excellent camera, I love mine to bits. But as a die-hard Pentaxian (K1000, KM, KX, K2, LX, MX and 2 MEs) my view is probably quite subjective. :D However, I must admit that the New F-1 has a special place in my heart because at the age of 9 I took my first 2 pictures with an SLR ever with one of these. One of my parent's friends knew of my interest in photography and he would let me shoot with it. I turned 50 in July but I still have these 2 slides...
@@22fret I was about the same age when I got my first SLR, the Pentax K1000. I still have it and it's featured in my K1000 review. I completely understand the sentimental value of your New F-1 because the K1000 has a special place in my heart (I own 2 K1000s, KM, KX, 3 K2 DMDs, 2 MXs, LX, ME Super, Super Program, 2 MZ-3s, MZ-S, and *ist). Thanks for being willing to share your story and appreciation for amazing cameras.
@@deadshot640 My pleasure. The K1000 was my first own SLR, too. It was a present from my parents for my 12th birthday. I still have and use it... 🙂 The LX and KX were my father's, he passed away 2 years ago...
Damn this takes me back. What an amazing piece of kit. Way more advanced than anything I could afford at the time.

My best expérience with a camera!
I can see why. The New F-1 was my best experience with Canon.
Very nice. Informative and to the point video. Subscribed!
Thank you!
Very nice video
Thank you!
So which do you prefer? The Canon F1 or the Nikon F2..?

@@22fret I'm sorry to hear about your father, but am happy you can celebrate his life by using the LX and KX.
