(Please click more for edits, for links I found and mistakes I made in the video) There’s a lot of ideas I’m considering for this new year, let me know what I can do for this year (Switch and PC Content-wise) At 2:53 I say you can shoot while sliding in the games, this isn’t true. In the games, you can’t shoot any variants of a shot, while you are sliding. There is a Mega Man fangame that plays similarly to the Versus Mode in Mega Man 7, it's not exact, and there are differences, but it's the closest to it so far at least. www.megamanarena.com/
I wish we had more Mega Man fighting games besides this and Power Fighters/Battle. The franchise lends itself so well to that structure and style of gameplay.
Mega Man Arena exists, it's fanmade, and plays a little differently, but it's the closest to another Versus Mode we've gotten so far, link is right here: www.megamanarena.com/
If you want to see more gameplay like this, there’s a fangame called Mega Man Arena. It’s roster is pretty big and there’s lots of cool tech like combo hits, slide invincibility, and strafe-jumping
I’ve one of the few who knew about the hidden Vs mode in Megaman 7, Thorgi’s Arcade made a “Build the Roster” video for a Megaman Fighting game which we really deserve and it would be cool, even Super Punch Out has a hidden Vs mode where you can play as the opponent boxers.
I’ve known about this for such a long time and it’s great to see someone cover it in depth, however I never knew about the command inputs that Rockman and Forte had that can add another layer to combat instead of just shooting each other, the Arcade Power Fighters 2 would expand upon it, except you needed to charge, hold up on your dpad and release to do things like the Mega Upper or Bass Flash Kick.
To think the versus was a silly X Dive before Dive pvp or just jump and shooting. The comboes add depth and wouldve been worth a lil nod or comeback other mega man installments
I kind of wish Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters were something like that, imagine if they had two modes: -Story Mode, where you play as Mega Man, Proto Man, or Bass -Tournament Mode, where you play as the same three characters or as other Robot Masters in a tournament-style battle So what do you think (reply please) ?
you know, since its in the description and mentioned in your comments how about a quick video about mega man arena while were here? it deserves a mention in video form
I could, but my controller never works when I connect it to my pc to play that game (steam games run perfectly fine, for example) If I get an xbox controller, I can make a video on that.
@@likky1 I’ve gotten Mega Man Arena to work, but as for a video I don’t know, it would probably be just me and a friend playing it (pretty much a highlight reel of funny stuff) Streaming it though is something I’m more than down to do
"Unlike the games, you can't shoot while sliding." There has literally never been a single classic MM game where you can shoot while sliding as any character. Not even Bass can shoot while dashing and Bass is the only one with a dash outside of the arcade games. Have you ever actually played the games?

It would lend itself especially well to a smash like game, since most mega man games are jump and shoot and going up and down platforms.

I love that it is technically the first time that Bass was Playable and also it might be the inspiration for the Playable Bass mode
I think it'd be interesting to see a MM7 Fighting Game hack with an expanded roster, like adding Proto Man, Roll or some of the Robot Masters.
The Xbox version of Rockman the Power Battle and Rockman the Power Fighters
@@dudenamedzelda3179 Those are entirely different games though, made for arcades.
Also, why specifically the Xbox version?
@@jruler93 Rockman: The Power Battle Fighters (PS2) allows player vs player battles
If some crazy person is out there
I don't see why they couldn't use some free game engine and create it with Megaman 7 snes style graphics

Sounds Cool! I'll go check it out, you don't have to give me a link for it
Ok, gotta confess I was TODAY years old when I discovered about Mega Man 7 VS Mode
Imagine this game gets a competitive scene based off this mode...
The chess of fighting games

Many games have obscure versus mode. There also exist some obscure versus games
I was a big megaman fan my entire life. 7 was indeed my favorite and I would even speedrun it. I was never told about this game mode. That's crazy.
never had any idea that this existed
I didn’t either, until a couple of months ago. It’s fun, but you do have to get another controller to play it.
well i have an emulator, the last thing i need now is a friend lol@@PhoenixYT9838
i live for in-depth analysis of minor aspects in mega man. why haven't we seen this mode at EVO yet???
0:10 you could say that selection of games is pretty....*Bass'd*

Rockman and Forte is one of my favorites as well, though I wouldn't put any of the main series above X2.
2:52 not to be that guy, but you can't shoot while sliding in the actual games either? idk what that meant
I edited my pinned comment to fix this a day ago when someone else said this, I should’ve double checked before I said that
Its a shame they didnt thought of adding protoman as well since he is a secret boss
Man only needs make a online fangame and can be perfect

GuileWinQuote talked about this in his videos on vs. modes in non-fighting games
Some should use the sprites of Bass from the battle mode to add him instead of MegaMan 😊
I think Mega Man is also a bit better than Bass because his slide has a shorter input than Bass' kick
Reminds me of vs mode in captain america nes

Just checked Mega Man 7, you’re right. I’ll make sure to say that in my pinned comment, thanks for letting me know!
Probably got it mixed with the x series dash
There might be an special weapon that lets you do that in one of the games, but i can't recall
As a mega man player for 19 years. I haven't played this mod ever. You explaint it well, but I don't think I'll play it. It looks 2000's flash games

Holy- the video just started and he's already Based
Pretty silly to have an anti air in a game where jump ins, blocking and a wake up game don't exist
