I'm so glad to see content based around the first Mega Man ZX! This was THE first Mega Man I had ever played/owned, and I spent countless hours on it as a kid. I still hold fond memories of exploring Area C over summer vacation with Model Hx. I can't wait to see more!
Something I would also point out about Model X is that in the first game, every other transformation is actually stacked on top of Model X. That means when you're in the Model Hx form for example, you aren't in the Model H form, you're specifically in the Hx form. What that means is that every single transformation you can achieve on top of your base form is either Model X or a Tier 2 Model X transformation similar to, for example, Goku going Super Saiyan 2. In particular, because X's big thing is his charge shot via the X Buster, all of the charge attacks of the other forms are amped up by Model X. For instance, in the Zero series Zero's charge shot with his buster is kinda dinky and pathetic compared to other charge shots in the franchise since he's more of a melee focused character. Model ZX however remedies this by giving him Model X's highest power charge shot. It's not as powerful as the double charge shot Model X alone has, but it is more powerful than it would have been if Model Z was being used alone. Every other transformation in the game has a similar thing going on with their charge attacks, and indeed actually have two different charge attacks. We know this would not have been the case without Model X because of ZX Advent, in which taking on the form of people using the other Biometals by themselves only gives you one charge shot each. Model X is also responsible for the Overdrive power, which consequentially did not return in Advent, as the only access to Model X the player gets is through being able to transform into Vent or Aile in their ZX form, which happens to be the only Tier 2 Model X form to not have Overdrive.
Probably explains why a lot of the forms got shafted in ZXA. Doing my first playthrough of ZXA recently (still not done, I kinda got stuck-ish), they felt noticeably weaker than they did in ZX.
@@neonthunder3261 The forms in ZXA compared to the first game are shafted for two reasons: 1. They're only the regular forms and not Tier 2 Model X forms. For instance, when you transform into Aeolus you're turning into the actual Model H form, and not Hx. In essence, that makes them Tier 1 transformations. More akin to Super Saiyan than Super Saiyan 2. 2. They are A-Trans forms. Model A's copy ability is imperfect. For instance, we know that Vent and Aile's Model ZX form doesn't use Biometal energy from the first game, and each of the fights against the other Mega Men include them using attacks that Grey/Ashe doesn't get access to. In essence, Model A is only capable of copying a smaller portion of the power of those the Model A Mega Man defeats, and limited even further by requiring Biometal energy to use their stronger powers at all. It's likely that the proper transformations for Models H, F, P, and L wouldn't require BM energy to use their powers and would have a larger range of capabilities, but they would lack the Model X enhancements of the Tier 2 Model X forms.
One cool thing about Model X is that, since it doesn't have a subweapon, both attack buttons shoot your buster, meaning you can alternate between them to easily shoot really fast. This is useless against bosses, but against every other enemy it's pretty good, especially up close. Model FX and PX can also do this this, but its one advantage X has over ZX.
Would make them too strong. We don't want ZX to be a direct upgrade to X. ZX should be stronger, but it shouldn't be better in every way. It also wouldn't work well for visual purposes. The double charge shot would need to replace the charged saber for there to be enough room.
That's what Model Ox is for. While in Overdrive you have access to the double charge shot, and the regular shots also all turn into medium charge shots. Ox is visually themed after Omega, but its gameplay is actually more like a full potential unlocked hybrid between Model X and Model Z to form a more powerful and complete ZX form by giving it access to Overdrive.

Honestly instead of giving model ZX a double shot I think model X should've had an expanded moveset based on his weapons from the X series so he can stand out as his own model instead of just being template

Simple but broken. If you need proof: you need to complete the game on Hard mode and then start a new save file in order to have Model X available for the rest of the game.
You need to complete is as both Vent and Aile, on normal mode or higher, with I’m pretty sure both completed files needing to be saved, after that, you can use it whenever
Uuuuummm… I think you missed something important, here. Model X is only available at *the very start* of a fresh file. However, it _is_ an *unlockable bonus* for beating the game. Just saying, under normal circumstance, players won't even _have_ the option to use Model X for more than five minutes. (Or however long it takes them to beat the intro stage.)
I assume Model X doesn't work well on Serpent Phase 2 mostly based on the fact that you technically shouldn't have it from the story's perspective, despite being on New Game +. Aside that, I do like the model on its own despite lacking rapid fire aspects. In that regard, the other models have have it beat, but the damage on Blast 2/3 makes this a very efficient and safe boss slayer. Also X2 Armor set is the best set in the series imo.
Agreed, Second Armor best armor. The one-two punch of the double charge shot is rather satisfying, both in X2 and ZX, the air dash is a brilliant inclusion that came to be part of every X armor thereafter, and it was the first armor to reduce weapon energy consumption when completed. The only bad thing I have to say about the Second Armor is that the Giga Crush isn't especially helpful, but even that has its uses.
Honestly, I am a sucker for the hover boots. The other bells and whistles like charging special weapons or plasma shots are nice, but they just can't beat that few seconds of simple gravity defying freedom.
Honestly the problem with model x for me is that he doesn't have some form of air boost or like the hover boots. I get why those are armor perks but those are actually _useful_ for exploration
i really don't like how you can't even use model x after acquiring zx, pure model x is fun to use sometimes, even if zx is still better most of the time. Can't really say that in lore model x is weak too, he serves as a base model for vent/aile in the first game, to which they can use model z and all other biometals later, in zx it is clear how diferent zx and z (the giro boss battle) are, and on the second game, the biometals do get better moves because you copy them with a trans from people who use them for a longer time, but they do lack the overdrive feature, which indicates model x was the responsible for it.

Megaman games' attempts to fix the hard difficulty: Megaman 2 has an easy mode. Megaman 8 divides it's bosses into 2 sets of 4. The first 4 being easy, the second 4 being hard. Megaman 10 has an easy, normal and hard mode and multiple characters to play as, watering down the experience imo, as the levels had to be designed to be accessible to all characters. Megaman X series has the optional armor upgrades. Megaman Zero series says "get good" and just makes the entire game hard. Megaman ZX gives an OP doublebuster shot in the beginning of the game, to make up for the low health bar. Megaman ZX Advent has an easy and very hard mode...but no normal difficulty? ;Ow0
Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. I will note that you lose Model X after defeating a certain boss, and to keep it after that point, you need to beat it as Vent and Aile on Normal mode minimum.

ZX is the only form to not have a lowercase X. So in the case of ZX it's truly a combined form.

yeah, nowhere near as efficient as FX and PX in that regard though, but it’s still cool nonetheless.

Yeah, it really shows once you can use it after Giro, It’s not the best model by any means, but it’s really good when it comes to killing bosses.

Planning on doing it for the rest, the ones in both ZX and Advent will be weird, but I have a very good idea with those models.

Not right. You lose it by the end of the fourth area, so almost 1 hour in if you're fast. And you get it back by beating the game with both characters

I’m glad that ciel basically left x and zero alive as biometals I never expected them to ever comeback. I love model x and z and the combination.

Advent does, if you’re playing on the legacy collection, they moved the easy mode to casual scenario (or whatever it’s called, same with ZX)
