    Thanks for explaining the outliers. I use Minitab in work for statistical analysis and wondered why the box plots put asterisks as outliers but now I know!

    How about finding an outlier in two variable points? I've made the pearson correlation coefficient and one data point was really far away, however, i want to prove that it's an outlier. What formula can I use?

      Kelly B find the average of the 2 middle numbers

      Probably known by now, but for anyone wondering, you add the two numbers in the middle then divide by two. For example.
      3, 3, 7, 9
      This would be (3+7)÷2=5
      The median is 5
