Grade 6th on Khan Academy: By the 6th grade, you're becoming a sophisticated mathemagician. You'll be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide any non-negative numbers (including decimals and fractions) that any grumpy ogre throws at you. Mind-blowing ideas like exponents (you saw these briefly in the 5th grade), ratios, percents, negative numbers, and variable expressions will start being in your comfort zone. Most importantly, the algebraic side of mathematics is a whole new kind of fun! And if that is not enough, we are going to continue with our understanding of ideas like the coordinate plane (from 5th grade) and area while beginning to derive meaning from data! (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

This thing taught in 6th grade and here i am 30 year old, learning this for data science,
One thing which i realize about our mind is, It doesn't really matter how old you are, When you are learning something new, irrespective of age15 or 30, our mind face exact same challenges in learning process.
Same here learning statistics to get in Business Analytics field and change my career.

The sad thing is is that it took you less than 7 minutes to teach what my teacher has been trying to teacher for the last three weeks
lol it's crazy how youtube is a better teacher than actual people who are paid to teach us xD
omg thats sad
Same!
Same we had a test on this and my teacher barely taught us any of it. Literally the week before was the only time he taught us how to do the MAD. Everyone. Failed.
and i am not exaggerating it, even the smartest people in the class failed it

How to solve for the Mean Absolute Divination? Well, first find the mean of the data set. Then calculate how far the # is from the mean. Add them up, and divide by how many # there are. The Mean Absolute Divination could be a whole # or a decimal. Hope this helps. Give a like if you understand, and a comment if you don’t.
Annie Zhong, deviation, and how far each of the numbers in the data set is away (absolute value) from the mean.
I was sick and missed a couple of leassons and my test is tomorrow! But this really helped! Thank you!
Is anyone else watching this cuz they have finals coming up and forgot everything...... nope, just me 😂

I have a math exam this week and this literally saved my life
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
bro this just made everything make sense to me
Thanks, this helped me alot!
It's called MAD because it drives you mad forever and ever until you finally understand it.
thank you these videos really helped me 👍
THANK YOU for explaining that in a way that right brained oriented people can understand
If the graphs are too complicated and you want to solve the MAD quicker, just do this: find the mean of the data sets, then find out how far each number is from the mean (ex: 6 is 3 away from 3) and then add all of those distances together, then divide by how many data points there are.
Thanks this is good help I have a test tomorrow about that and if I pass I will like all your videos
You should also explain for what mad is good for, like robustness. But for this other measures are even better, like the median absolute deviation to the median.
This is (MAD)ness
This is A DEAD MEME!!!
Get out
😂😂 ikr
This helps a lot
Thank u so much
can’t believe i’m a junior in hs and watching this ugh the things school makes you do

thank god we do khan academy in school
Thanks so much
this was very helpful because I was sick for a week and I missed a lot and this is one of my lessons but I have sucky common core xD
Hey Sal great video. Here's a question. When does MAD become redundant and we switch to Standard Deviation? In other words what are the limitations of MAD? Could u plz explain with an example? I'd appreciate it if u have already made a video on it. If u have could u plz send me a link? Thanks.
Keep up the great work... 👍
ok soo you have to do
what u think
Bro you’re a total geek! Other people: I don’t get it. You: Baka boa bla bla bla bla deviation bla bla limitations bla bla bla bla bla
This is so helpful
Thanks!!! I have a quiz tomorrow.
Hope you pass! Good Luck
Thank you. The wording in my study materials was really confusing!
Can u look at the commodity channel index indicator to see how you can adjust it using mean deviation for accuracy?
5:00 is when he starts explaining it
TY! He’s good but he spends SOOO much time repeating stuff
Man Thanks so much this helped me big time!👍
thanks! I have my math finals tmr!! Wish me like 👍
0:54 - quick mafs
Thanks, teachers explain this "super beat up"; job security I guess.!!!
YOU SAVED MY LIFE!
So in what cases would this be more (or less) preferable than just using Variance/SD?
thanks dude ur awesome
Very helpful
I don't know what you MEAN.
What do you mean I am MAD xd
I MEAN these jokes are MAD lame😂
lol
Bro these MEAN jokes aren’t even good and it’s making me MAD
What is the difference between Mean absolute deviation and Standard deviation? When do i use one of the two?
what is characteristic of mean absolute deviation
Thanks
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
When Kahn academy teaches you better then school in a few min
I was finding A Class 11 lecture on Error and Analysis, n i stumble upon this it took me 2 min. Of watching to realise this can't be this Basic😂😭
