WOW...that's a lot to learn about such cuties, you're lucky to find such a wonderful vet, glad to know that the blindness is temporary, Bill seems to have taken everything in stride, he's looking good. Continued blessings for your goats!
We hope so! The vet told us of a goat that discovered she was getting extra attention and treats as long as she acted blind...they didn't catch on to her little trick for weeks...lol
We're thinking about getting them some girlfriends in the spring. Their primary job will be weed/bush/honeysuckle control on the fence-lines, but depending on how the world turns, both meat and milk are not off the table.
Thank you for sharing this information with us. Do you have to worry about the worms transferring to your chickens with them being so close, or the goats getting them again from the fecal matter in their pen? Much respect from Utah
We looked into that and no, the parasites only infect goats and don't cross species. To keep the from building up such a huge parasite load again, we move them pretty frequently to fresh grass and the area they were in gets hit with sunlight, which kills the parasites.
Check out Humble Servant Homesteads channel he does a lot of videos on the upkeep of goats.
Will do! Probably end up binge watching..there's so much to learn!
Lol. I’m not ready for goats 🐐 🙏 for your goats.
I didn't think we were either...then Jestine saw their little fluffy ears, cute noses, and their sweet little Blah-ah-ah's and it was all over. :)
