You had a proper day there Sam,always loved the type r ,there vtec system along with the slick gearbox is incredible but I just wish you could have a different colour interior, that red is just to much for me ,sorry Honda!
It was great! Yes plenty of nice colours to choose from which does change the vibe of the Type R to suit your preference. The sonic grey pearl looks great too 👍
Is it even possible to order one?
My understanding is that you can still order one today although I am unsure how long it will remain on sale or what will happen in the future but for now it's available 👍
Does it feel like a near £50K car to you
It is a fair question and the fact that there are so few hot hatches currently in production in 2024 it is in a small segment. The quality is very high inside and it drives fantasticly. Personally, I would look for a used car at a lower price but that is where I am at with my budget. I've driven cars quite a fair bit more expensive which do not offer the level of involvement and all round use as this Type R did. I did enjoy it and can recommend 👍
A new EP3 CTR cost me £16K in 2004. £50K is insane. That’s 3 new EP3s and change!
At the end of the day it's still a fwd architecture using tech that the megane and clio brought all those years ago with hyper strut front suspension. If this had been 38k i would've thought fair enough with inflation but 50k for a civic! No chance!! And that's why I've never seen one...

Speed limits and safety.. There was the option to take the car on the high speed bowl at 100mph which I did with the Audi RS4 on my channel. It is a great car whatever the speed the Type R 👍
