- Continuing with my nature based felting projects here’s one inspired by a viewer comment. This project includes a new technique where we make wings out of the plastic from a DVD case which would probably be great for any insects wings.
If you're interested in having a go then you'll need -
Some yellow carded corridale fibre
Some black carded corridale fibre
Some white carded corridale fibre
Needle and black embroidery thread
Some acrylic felt
Glue
Metal pendant bail
Some scissors
A fine felting needle (38 gauge star shaped)
Finger protectors
Something to felt on (I use a felting bag)
The tools and materials are available from my shop, just email if you're after any felting supplies - info@beltanegifts.com
The music used for the crafting chez intro and end credits is - Mizuki by Bad Snacks The thumbs up and bell icons are from www.flaticon.com

Thank you so much for watching! I'm so glad you're enjoying needle felting, I know it's definitely my happy place 😀
Personally I think Your bee 🐝 is better the bee you get the inspiration from …love it !!
Thank you!
Pure dead brilliant
Thank you x
Спасибо за чудесный мастер класс! А я делаю крылышки по другому. Я их леплю и запекаю в духовке. И они там становятся прозрачными.
Thank you for watching! Your method of baking the wings in the oven sounds really interesting, I definitely need to experiment with some different ways and materials to make other versions. Can't wait to try something like that out!
You are a sensible teacher. I enjoy your personality ... and your bumble bees are adorable. I've been wanting to make smaller bees.
Thank you! I hope you have fun making some bees, I like to make them into brooches by adding a clasp to the back. They're great fun to wear!
I am so pleased I have found this channel. You are a great teacher and a joy to watch!❤
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. I'm hoping to get back to posting more soon 🙂
@@TheCraftingChez I can’t wait!!
Thank you for such a easy to follow tutorial. Barb x
You're very welcome Barb, thank you so much for watching x
I've been using hemming tape which works ok but the wings are quite delicate. I think I may be pinching your idea using the plastic from cd cases for my next round of bees. Great tutorial. Do you mind if I share it in my NEEDLE FELTING for BEGINNERS NORTH WEST AND ANYWHERE group?
Hi Annie, feel free to share, if you just let people know about the channel would be great. Hope your group enjoys and good luck with your bees!
Very cute! Can’t wait to make one!
Thank you! They can be quite addictive once you start, I ended up with bees everywhere!
Add a stinger😊
Love that idea! Although I might have to start with some antlers 🤔😃
Sorry for my earlier very random comment! I was totally thinking about the bunny when this message popped up and started picturing a bunny with a scorpion tail, and then antlers. A stinger on the bee makes much more sense! 😂 I'd probably use a glue gun to make a stinger, wait for the glue to get hot. touch it to the bees bum and pull the gun away without releasing any more glue. It should stretch leaving a fine strand behind. Use scissors once it's cooled to cut to length. You might want to experimenting a bit on something like a random bit of cardboard first though before trying it on your bee 😀
