The #1 Pitfall That Is Sabotaging Your Diet

- What is one of the biggest pitfalls sabotaging our diet and our success…
We go in thinking we’ll do something short term to then go back to the lifestyle we want.
The habits we had before.
But that’s not how things work.
You can’t do one thing to reach your goals then go back to what you were doing before and expect not to lose all of your progress.
If you want lasting results, you have to actually change your habits and build
yes, a new lifestyle.
Yet so often how we approach making changes doesn’t allow us to create new habits.
We do think of it as “going on a diet,” instead of adjusting our diet.
And because we have this short term focus, often we jump to doing more, which means restriction.
It also means overwhelming ourselves with changes we often can’t maintain.
Changes that sometimes stop us from even starting and definitely stop us from sticking with anything long term.
Changes that make us feel like we just don’t have the willpower or self control to ever see results.
And this all is caused by this pressure we feel to hit some ideal
over assessing our current lifestyle and habit swaps that would meet us where we are at currently.
By why does this happen?
In this video we're going to look at why it's important to change your habits, not just your diet for fat loss
loved and laughed...."Cori loves her oreos" tune!
A new ear worm, lol
hehe all thanks to Ryan!
I think part of the struggle is the average person uses food too much for comfort or as a way to destress. If you're an athlete, however, destressing to you means taking it out in the gym (yoga, stretching, etc). It's a different mindset! Being "IN THE ZONE" from working out is something some will never experience. It's better than food! I've been an athlete all my life so this is all I know but for others this way of thinking is hard to comprehend. I think you have to find some joy in being healthy & fit to make it work long term. Easy said than done if u haven't lived that way most of your life I guess.
I love that the gym is your way to de-stress. Although I'll tell you...anything can have a "dark" side as I see this can lead to overtraining in some. So while I agree, we have turned to food for comfort and have to realize those patterns and break them (which is why I think tracking can be even more key), we need to realize that nothing is without nuance to it! The more we measure, the more we can manage. So constantly assessing our needs and goals and how we handle things so we can keep learning and growing to meet ourselves where we are at is key!
Came here for the fitness, staying here for the psychology 🙏🏻
:-) Let's face it...so much IS the shift in mindset as our mindset impacts our actions! :-)
Saying "I'll start tomorrow" is the best way to get fat.
Not you putting a seat belt on the oreos!!!😂😂😂
Safety first!!
🤣 Can't risk one getting broken!
The relentless battle to prevent “Food Babies” thank you Cori for inspiring motivation 💪🏻 have a fabulous week !!!
🤣
That song will be stuck in my head all day now! 😂 Thank you, Cori! Another valuable RS video outlining the most important piece of a healthy lifestyle-mindset
Thank you! And you can "thank" Ryan for that song haha
Spot on as ALWAYS Cori. It is a change of lifestyle. I luv your videos because they are a reminder of what we need to do in order to achieve our fitness goals.
Keep the videos coming and thank you for telling it like it is.
THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET!!
😊😊❤
Thank you! I'm so glad they help! :-)
No nonsense. And to the point. I appreciate your information.
Thank you! So glad the videos help!
Well said. One cannot go on a diet forever. Set your goals and change your lifestyle gradually in a comfortable pace.
YES! Make true habit changes evolving your lifestyle and even recognizing the balance you need!
Today i slipped from my intermittent 16 hour fasting,it's all start from just a bite of sweet, I just flowed with it, I identify, when I don't eat sugary things I am more in my control but once i eat sugary food with guilt, I just do emotional eating, I even don't feel good physically as well as mentally.
I think I need to not so much emotional as in our india 😊 here emotions means sweet.
Knowing our triggers and identifying patterns to break them is key. And then finding replacement behaviors or even macro-friendly options or even how to work in things we want based on our balance is key!
I know people who celebrate losing the same 20lbs over and over again. Not even sure they realize what they’re doing.
Oh man, that jingle will be living rent free in my brain...
😂
You are the most creative and effective fitness expert. Love how you keep things so easy to listen and learn. You are the best❤❤.
Thank you! I'm so glad the videos help!
My top tip: DO NOT have scales anywhere in your house: you will become obsessed with numbers and feel constantly disappointed. Instead do what this lovely woman advises - and let your clothes be your guide.
Another amazing video by Cori! Thanks, girl. Love your tips, explanation & psychology behind fitness. Redefining strength indeed! Much love to you Cori. Keep growing and sharing more of your knowledge with us❤
And yes loved the song 🎵 🤭
hehe thanks on all counts! So glad the videos always help!
Thank you very much Cori. That was a nice song.
Definitely a lifestyle
I passed by the cookie isle and found myself leaving it but looking back at these Oreos!!! Lol I needed this video!!!
hehe perfect timing ;-)
Going to be singing cori loves her oreos all day today
🤣
😂😂😂😂 it's hilarious but informative. ❤❤❤
hehe thank you!
Great to hear such sensible advice , it’s got to be sustainable.
Thank you! I'm so glad it helps!
A spot on message with a catchy theme song! Loved this so much!!!!But hey please put those Oreos in a children's car seat next time. They are too delicate to be safely restrained by a regular seatbelt.😅
Dang it...you're right. The car seat would be far safer! And thank you!
Absolutely, going back to the old habits (that led us to gain BF) is an issue ! But smg bothers me : I remember your vids about "but I've been good all week" , saying that the excess of calories in the weekend can offset the efforts put during the week. And we (at least, I) can see/read/watch soooo many 'studies' about how cheat meal / week of diet break can (should ? Could ? Don't ? ! !) prevent our metabolism to slow down : eat more, burn more (and then return to a deficit). So, I'm lost on that subject ! Cori, please, since you have the knowledges, could you make a vid about it, if there are some new data ? ?
(P.S. : you often say that it's hard to find leggings that are at the perfect length. I've seen an ad on FB for a website called leggins-love, they look low waist, so IMHO, not very long in the legs ! Maybe you'll find there what you love ! And I'm not affiliated or anything😉)
You are so creative!!! Great video and inspiring information. Blessings.
Thank you! I'm glad it helps!
🤣🤣🤣 Say whattt?! Now I want an Oreo milkshake/blizzard! 🥶
🤣
Oucking freos!! The vein of my dad gum existence! Especially the double or triple stuffed or the mega stuffed or some crap like that. They're the reason why I don't ever go to the grocery store hungry. Now they have all these different varieties!? It's not dadgum fair. Where was I.
Oh yeah. Thanks for your videos. ,❤
Glad the videos help! :-) I just only recently tried the mega-stuffed. Pretty good! Although I won't lie...I'm still more of a reese's girl.
@@redefiningstrengthOC Reese's peanut butter cups are the greatest invention ever. Then they came along and made a cup, and the potato chips mixed in there. It's not fair. 😕
Ohmyword...the song!!!!😁
😂
Sing it gurl! 😂👍🙌🏼
Thankfully for you that is NOT me singing haha
Yesss!!! Weight Loss Journey is all about developing NEW healthy habits 😊❤
YES!
Can anyone confirm that the quality of oreo's has degraded since the pandemmy? The icing used to be super creamy but now its super gritty.
haha not sure but the mega-stuffed are legit. Had them for the first time!
The Hostess cupcakes taste like crap too. Probably a good thing.😂
Good morning my Best Coach and Advisor.
💪😊
You couldn’t have put this up at a more prudent moment. Yo-yo dieter, menopausal, post eating disorder, with a 4 yr old stretched for time making poor easy choices, dreading opening the tracking app to start again. 😢
Maybe you don't use the app yet. You have one single focus you check off you've done at the end of the day and that is your tracking to start. Then maybe you just write down your food on a piece of paper for accountability and check off you made notes to even EAT ENOUGH. So many ways to start implementing habit changes and using tools to get that accurate picture of our lifestyle and adjust based on what we need!
@@redefiningstrengthOC thank you so much for your kind advice x
That was great...🙂😊❤🎶❤️🙂
I'd watch a sitcom of "Cory Loves Oreos."
😂
Great advice!
Great advice!
Great advice. ❤
That’s me!!! How I feel
Hope this helped!
Speaking facts
Good video👍
I love it!😊😊😊
Food psychologists say using smaller bowls, plates, and utensils cause people to effortlessly eat less, yet here at 1:57 you're putting the healthy food into a ginormous bowl and so this serving that is actually a good moderate serving seems puny and unsatisfying. 🤷♂️
Yaaa that was done purposefully to be silly about eating gross dry lettuce haha 😂
My goal was 195 hit that then goal 185 hit 192 then since my 1st goal was hit and it’s my birthday month I went cruise ship crazy with the treats 🙂↔️mind over matter or treats.
All about finding that balance and realizing that we always have a CHOICE in what we include or don't include. The key is recognizing why having something, or "sacrificing it" makes the most sense for us right then. We WILL at times cut things out, but that is different than saying we can't have it. Because choosing to eat in a different way to reach a goal is empowering over feeling like you just can't have something. There are times I don't include specific foods, and times I do work them back in! Just the power of finding balance and really owning our lifestyle!
Question: how do you reduce constipation in a High protein diet?
Fiber. You can still get adequate fiber and also focus on water to stay hydrated as you'll want to increase water consumption.

When you do videos and you look muscular cut do you do anything before the video to make yourself look like that, exercise, water restriction, makeup, pumping up the muscles? Do you do anything "to make it look good in camera" Do you use any special effects or just blow up your tummy for before pic and suck it in for after pics? Is getting to where you are even realistic? Do you take any enhancement drugs? (no judgement here) I just want to know what is real and what is not.
I'm all natural and it's taken YEARS of consistency to maintain a leaner and leaner physique as results snowball. I will do stricter macros and not include alcohol at times if I want to look leaner for photos (and get a spray tan haha) but no honestly I don't do anything fancy or need anything intensive since I'm NEVER stage or fitness competitor lean. Just athletic lean. It's truly consistency that add up. But also people think I'm bigger than I am. Leanness can make you look more muscular.
@@redefiningstrengthOC Cool thanks for the information. I just started and changed one thing which is what I eat and charting in on Myfitnesspal. Today is day 3. I have been doing good so far. I am tired of being 325 lbs. I will definitely be trying to build that muscle when I start adding exercise. I am eating the Elephant one bite at a time.
The size of that family pack is crazy. Except for a family of 12. I mean... a normal portion is one or two biscuits. Maybe two times a day with your tea or coffee.
All about finding your balance with things :-)
So glad I have disliked Oreos since I was a kid!😂😂😂
🤣
I never liked them either...til I tried the mint oreo ❤
😧 😂
