- Fallen Angel bounced back from Newmarket disappointment to provide trainer Karl Burke with a second Classic success in the space of an hour in the 2024 Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at The Curragh.
A Group One winner at the Kildare track in last season’s Moyglare Stud Stakes, the daughter of Too Darn Hot finished only eighth as favourite for the 1000 Guineas three weeks ago, but showed her true colours on Irish soil just 45 minutes after stablemate Darnation had won the German 1000 Guineas in Dusseldorf.
Fallen Angel was the 11-4 market leader to reward those who kept the faith and after a smart start raced on the pace from the off in the hands of Danny Tudhope.
The challengers were stacked up in behind entering the final three furlongs, but Burke’s grey found another gear once asked to do so and was well on top as she passed the post with two and three-quarter lengths in hand over the previously unbeaten A Lilac Rolla, with Opera Singer also running with credit in third on her first start since her scintillating display in the Prix Marcel Boussac in October.

A convincing win and good to see
Congratulations owners, trainer, jockey and horse. Great win. Best of luck in future whatever you all decide to do.
A gorgeous filly that made the most of her plum draw and confirmed her class.
Kbs horses are flying...well done ✔️

If I was a roadie for the 2 biggest trainers in Ireland and they had a losing run, I'd probably start wishing that I didn't just back all their short priced favs and consider that maybe, just maybe....there are other trainers out there! But, as he has told us thousands of times, we are mere mortals cowering beneath his towering knowledge.
He will never learn, too obnoxious to realise that 90% of the people posting on RUclips racing pages know more than him.
@@frankelforever14 So true. Still he does make the comments section more entertaining for the rest of us to enjoy after the races.
@@edenjs1503 he does provide some entertainment like a court jester would have. But when the racist, bigot, sexist and other slurs come out that's when the fun stops for me anyway.
@@frankelforever14Entertaining is the last thing he is. He is a person who has to be nasty to get a response. Maybe if he's entertaining to some they'd think differently if he took their profile slightly changed and pretended to be them. Not so entertaining then
@@suemaher5282 did he do the same to your profile?
What a commentary that was, a blooming masterclass 🙌 great win too 🐴 🍎
If you back the winner the commentary often sounds fabulous.
Great day for Too Darn Hot. Responsible for Fallen Angel, and Darnation in the German 1000 Guineas.
Pretty awful day for the O'Brien fan boys. Most will go thirsty and hungry this evening. I wonder how that crackpot Martin Lewis is feeling this evening? Probably doesn't bear thinking.
He has had a good cry with his mommy and is now in nasty form with all his responses. I expect another cry before bed tonight is on the cards after he reads all his deserved replies.
Guaranteed Lewis was all over that Opera house in 3rd😂😂😂. He's had another terrible weekend. How can someone follow 2 of the greatest trainers and still manage to get it wrong so often 😂😂😂
Was delighted paddy twomey horse was placed she ran a cracker monty.👍
Aiden Obrians stable are not in form.
@@Alternative_views yet he's still banging in winners 🤥
The horse's name is actually Opera Singer, was running after a long layoff and had a nightmare draw. I backed the winner but O'Brien's filly will come on for the race. All of those who have given your asinine comments a tick must either be idiots or sore losers.
@Monty-xs7hp not like usual, anyways the amount of runners he has in one classic race like the past in the Derby obviously he will win.
Fallen Angel showed her class..........more to come.
GREAT! to see listen hopefully obviously lovely mine the lads frozen out of the Classics!! wonderful thank GOD we don't have to listen to his ramblings after every race , Congrats to Burke first class trainer who talks SENSE
Yes I’m very happy with third it ran well the lads are happy tooo
Fallen angel was 7th her first race this Season
Falling Angel was absolutely brilliant here. She will take some beating in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Hmm, Justify nought from 3 runs in European Guineas. What price that at the end of the two year old campaigns. Well done Karl Burke & Danny Tuddy.
Just so many horses that can't handle Epsom and Newmarket
Is that Danny´s first classic winner?
lovely ,the money came for it to ...
Having said that , Los Angeles could be THE one especially if there is alot of rain
Every chance on pedigree with Sire and Grandsire both Derby winners.
@@robinmiller9865 he was the so called second string when he won the Criterium in France i had him backed that day he's a big horse but should handle the track
@@robinmiller9865 And a lively outsider worth consideration is Macduff at around 13/1 mark worth an interest also potential improver
I'm not sure if Opera Singer is a group 1 class horse.
She's already a group 1 filly
@@robertdelacy3434 At 2 yes, but at 3?.City Of Troy was a group 1 winning horse at 2 but if he fails badly at Epsom that could be his last race in Europe. With Opera Singer her value as a breeding mare was guaranteed by her 2 year old performances. I just don't believe she will be group 1 class at 3.
@@alwaysfair4991 she's been placed in a group 1 on her first run since October she'll definitely improve an win a group 1
This was her first run for seven months from a nightmare outside draw and is bound to come on for the run.
Could call her the winner 3 out
Well done m8
A Rolls Royce v Mercedes. RR wins in little more than a canter.
I backed her in the English guineas left her alone today 🤦♂️
You should always follow up mate.
You are not alone ,,it costsme money this horse
Fallen Angel came back in style!! The Daughter Of Too Darn Hot Was On Her Game For The Bettors Today!!😊❤
English horses rule over the flat....
When is John magnier going to tell aiden o brien to pack his bags ? Is he waiting to go to the wall first
Magnier buys the horses he can't do miracles.
What a mean-spirited fellow you are.
You will be eating your words before the end of the season.
Another day of people buying this rubbish lol
