- How to fix P0339 Code: Crankshaft Position Sensor “A” Circuit Intermittent
The computer (ECM/PCM) monitors the engine timing using the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP). This allows for the ignition (spark) at the correct time.
A P0339 code is set when the computer (ECM/PCM) detects the crankshaft position sensor is out of a specified range.
Some vehicles have a Crankshaft Position Sensor Re-Learn Procedure
Possible Causes of a P0339 Code:
Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor
Wiring Issue (Sensor harness has open or short)
Blown Fuse
Engine Timing Off (timing Belt/Chain, tensioner)

I got a Ford Focus 2016 1 liter turbo 3 cylinder, the engine started vibrating a bit about a month ago, thought it was a engine mount, but today, car would not turnover, had to jump start then got a p0339 code, and engine not running smooth at all, at one point at idle felt like the engine jumped. Battery indicator light when on today, ford said it was a wiring issue a few months a ago when it went on, they said found a pinched wire and resolved the battery indicator issue. Can I still nurse it around or got to tow to a dealer?
It will need to be diagnosed. It sounds like the wiring issue is back, but you could have the battery tested and check the alternator output.
being looked at now, timing belt, crankshaft sensor, alternator, wiring, lots of variables, it’s got new spark plugs , new coil pack, new turbo new catalytic converter
Mechanic said it’s not the P0339. It’s actually the alternator because of the alternator doesn’t provide enough voltage. The sensor is going to get a bad reading, but we’ll see.
