The excess rtv squezing out is also squeezing in the inside. It could get sucked into the oil pump and end up in the filter but id prefer to just use less.
It definitely helps give you more room. I did one today (with great difficulty) and we ended up unbolting the diff and letting it sag in addition to jacking up the engine slightly for more clearance
Exactly. The engine only had 70,000 km on it and since it’s not being boosted or being pushed to its limits there’s no point in rebuilding the short block.
Just did mine and my manual calls for 250 in lb. On both, bolt and nut for the oil pick up tube. Approximately 20 ft. lb.

DON'T use a wire brush.... max use a 3m green scrub pad....
Did you have to jack the engine up to remove oil pan. Read on another site that you have to raise the engine on a 2 wheel drive to remove oil pan
If I were you when you get under do a visual inspection. I was working with a Dodge Ram frame in this video with the rear sump
@@ghostlyrich Okay thanks what year was yours

Why nobody has a 4x4
What year is this for ?
Why don't you make a video on a complete vehicle. This video does nothing for a person working on a running vehicle. Too many obstacles in the way.
Exactly. There's parts of the transmission in the way.
Great video Sir
Thanks guys!!!!
Bro not the wire brush lol
Pays almost eight hours flat rate pain in butt dont go by this
Why is the belt off
Was rebuilding the motor and hadn’t finished bolting some off the accessories on yet it went in a jeep hemi project
What did you do just rebuild the topside of the engine

Try it without taking the entire truck apart… useless
