    I plan to keep a car for ever so reliability and tough build is A+. I recently sold my 1994 toyota land cruiser that I've driven for 27 years. Nothing else does that so recently purchased the 4runner limited and love it. I have watched a lot of car reviews and see so many of a car straight out of the gate comparison but if you want to live with a car for more than the warrantee period, reliability needs to be considered.

    my hands down, #1 choice. I'm 70 and my off-road crazy days are behind me. But I would still get one for the simple fact if you had to get out of town because of an emergency (hurricane, snow etc) this is your baby. if you run into congestion with cars braking down, running out of gas, no problem, go 4x4 and drive around it off road

    Hey Alex,
    Watched a lot of videos over the years but stopped last year because of some issues (personal life sorting), so I don't know when you added the separate "Buyer's Guide" section but I really like it. Sometimes I'm just curious what the car is about, and then if I'm more serious I want to see the pricing section.

    One attribute that is not discussed much is the ability for people with RVs to flat tow some of these vehicles. The Jeeps (at least some of them) and the Bronco can be flat towed without damaging drivetrain components. The Toyotas can't.

    Toyota has this market largely to itself. A more polished, Japanese Jeep Wrangler
    The problem is they don't really want it. They'd rather have better, larger "economies of scale"
    The 2024 4Runner will lose the V6, and won't offer it as an option, which the next Tacoma will as well.
    It's build will move to Mexico, to join the Tacoma. And the power rear window is gone.
    The 3 features that separate it from being a bigger Rav4 will be taken away.

    • @naveenthemachine

    • @InvestBetter.
      @InvestBetter. 2 года назад +3

      @@naveenthemachine Thanks for the ignorance, but the new Rav4 is a massive hit, the Highlander is the best selling 3 row crossover, and the new Sequioa is getting rave reviews, and has the best engine in its class, so they are consistently kicking ass in SUVs. I don't know what your problem is, but it is your problem.

    • @naveenthemachine
      @naveenthemachine 2 года назад +3

      @@InvestBetter. the new sequoia is getting reviews for a mediocre 3rd row, cargo space, no independent rear suspension. And the mpg although good is not best in class. That goes to the GM turbo diesel 6 cylinder. And the sequoia already a dead last place suv and it’s not even on sale yet
      I agree highlander and rav4 are the best sellers in their class but that doesn’t mean they are the best in their class. The reason Toyota sells the most is because most of the buyers are sheeps. Sheeps buy brands but smart people buy cars. There are much more compelling alternatives that are actually worth your money.

    I’ve got a 2021 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-road Premium WITH the XP Predator Package. It’s got the wheels & tires, side steps, front grill, TRD and Red stitching on the interior, that the TRD Pro has. Only real difference is about $10k, the suspension, the exhaust, intake, and the TRD Pro front skid plate. Plus mine has the premium package so turn signal mirrors etc.
    So anyone in the market I’d suggest the model I got. I really hope they don’t go to the turbo engine with the 6th gen and keep the 1GR-FE bulletproof engine with the 5 speed tranny. They could go with the 6spd as well, but I’ve got a feeling they’re gonna take out the 1GR-FR and go with that Tacoma engine or the hybrid. I’ll probably have my 2021 4Runner until I die and I’m 42 now lol
    PS the bronco sport is straight trash!!

    Glad I bought when I did 7 years ago my brand new factory-ordered 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee "WK2" Overland 4x4 Diesel w/ Off-Road Adventure II package and factory adjustable ride height Air Suspesion. Promptly added Mopar Rocksliders and all kinds of extra bash plates from Chief Products along with 32" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs (had 2 sets of 33's previously on my old '04 Tahoe Z71) for max 11" ground clearance in Offroad 2 setting. I off-road the GC frequently in some pretty rough Northern Michigan areas where I own a cabin and spend much time hunting and fishing, about 2-1/2 hours away from my home downstate. Despite the diesel engine EPA debacle (got a check back from the factory for $3,075, plus extended powertrain and emissions warranties), mine has been relatively trouble free, except for eating through brakes prematurely. I have about 74K, and love the torque and great MPGs driving at 60 mph or less. Other than not having the amount of space of my old (and completely worn out) '04 Tahoe, I can still carry a lot of recovery gear (e.g., 4 MaxxTraxx, Hi-Lift Jack, come-alongs, snatch straps, shackles, shovel, ax, chainsaw, etc.) the Jeep WK2 has been the ideal vehicle for how I use it. Next option will likely be a 10lb Warn Zeon synthetic rope winch (and Chief Products Hidden Winch plate). All in, I'm at about $45K (before 6% Mich. sales tax) including all the mods. Ahh, the good old days, back when you could get significant discounts off the sticker prices of new vehicles!
