  • What does Johnny Ringo have to do with this story? Watch to the end...
Join author & historian Janelle Molony (#hottiehistorian) as she retraces the journey of Sarah Larimer and her eight-year-old son Frank as they try to escape from captivity among the Sioux Indians after the Platte River Raids in Eastern Wyoming. See her hideout and learn how they ate while on the run.
After being kidnapped on July 12th, 1864, Sarah escaped her captors on the evenings of July 13th. She reached the Overland-California Trail again on July 16th, but waited until the 17th to approach the emigrants gathered on the north side of the North Platte River.
Janelle Molony is an active member of the Oregon-California Trails Association, the Wyoming Historical Society, the Western Association of Women Historians, and the Western Writers of America. "Hottie Historian" is trademark pending (2024). Special thanks to Larry Cundall, Wyoming rancher, for guidance to related destinations.
