I’m so excited to finally have someone explain this pattern so I could understand it .. My college granddaughter will love this .. thx for keeping me in the loop with your clear instructions….
I love love love this videos! I've been watching for about a year now and I've made just about every top. Super great explanations and videos! thank you so much for sharing! :)
I really love this pattern. I don't know if you still plan on making a remake of this particular top, but if you do. If love to know how many chains you start with. I get that that number applies mainly to your size, but it will help me better understand why my DC portion is coming out so wide. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten some pretty results from following the concept, but my completed top looks nothing like this one.
Krystal Everdeen That's because your videos are da bomb! You are a sweet person, and you have such a great creative talent! I really LOVED all your geeky DIY's too, always so perfect and kawaii!!! I have just started putting some crafts I designed on my channel, and I don't have a great camera yet, but I am trying! It's what I wanna do! Give me a boo, if you want to! Feelin' ill gives you a lot of butt time; gets a lotta crochet done....!
Hello, I just finished making this crop top and I ended up with a very budged middle. I think I figured out WHY. For those that are having the same problem. I hope this can be of use to the next person: It's very hard to explain what is happening and caused the bulge, but I will try my best to utilize the keyboard to illustrate it. What is the (at least I think) the traditional way, is one is suppose to go between the horizontal stitch that allows it to be a double crochet. But instead, Krystal Everdeen is going entirely under both horizontal stitches. In other words, one is suppose to go under 2 pieces of yarn, but Kyrstal is going under 3 peices. Example: The below is a double crochet. __
Thank u for taking the time to explain this. You totally described it in a way that makes sense and that is not an easy task but u did it perfectly. Great job…thank u!😊
Thank you for this video! For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to do this design. Feel better, can't wait for the next one (even though this one is just fine ;)
FOR ANYONE STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE MIDDLE SECTION BULDGING. Do 2 rows of the same number of double crochets instead of increasing each row. For example instead of doing 1 double crochet on the first row, then 3 on the next and 5 on the next... do two rows of 1 double crochet then two rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. I found a chart online that really helped me. In the chart they stopped increasing at 17 then started decreasing and did 3 rows of 15 and 3 rows of 13 and finished. HOPE THAT HELPS SOMEONE! :)
+MrCashevan11 thanks for this post! the only way I can help people is when I am actually there with them, so it was awesome of you to help me out with helping others out haha ;)
+Krystal Everdeen No problem! Although it still didn't end up looking as good as yours! The chart I found called for a chain of 55 and though and I used a chain of 50. Maybe I will have to go back again and start over. For the 5th time now.lol Thanks for the vid! ;)
Wow, I can't even tell you how many times I had to unravel everything and start over before I made this top! It is a tough one, and I did have a lot of trouble with the bulging, but you just have to play with it until you get it right(:
+MrCashevan11 what do you mean decreasing? can you further explain, like did they turn them into single crochdts or something? what was the online chart?
I love love looove your channel and crochet videos!! :) Also, a huge thank you for inspiring me to start crochetinh, it.s really fun! xD Hope you feel better soon, big love xx
I tried this once and will have to retry, my double crochet section ended up creating a weird bubble cup. Last I checked I had 2 boobs! Haha. I've successfully gone through most of your tutorials and am excited to get this one right. Do you happen to have any hints/tips so as not to create a cup-like effect in the double crochet open section? I'm sure I'll get it right this time around! It's all about trial and error and practice! Thanks and keep up the cute work!
I know this is pretty late n you prob wont need the tip anymore. But im new to here and had the same issue im not finished yet but from what i have so far i ironed it n the bubble flattened nicely
Krystal can you please make another tutorial. I'm having a huge problem with the double crochet middle section. It's bulging out so much and this is my 4th time redoing it. The final product just doesn't look anything like yours in the end. :/ thanks in advanced!
Instead of increasing every row. Only increase every other row. For example do 2 rows of 1 double crochet then 2 rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Hope that helps!
+MrCashevan11 so when I increase every row, do I still do a double crochet into the single crochet before the set of double crochets and one more double crochet after the set of double crochets?
+CurlyCrochetQueen33 Yes but only do it every other row. Not every single row. I actually wrote this suggestion before I tested it and honestly still had a little trouble with it. I am still experimenting. You could even try just increasing every third row after the first. But I am going to test out a few other patterns and I will post here when I find one that works
You don't sound ill at all, and explained it just fine ;) I hope you feel better soon! Do you know how add big beads and accents like that? I think that would be a fun thing to learn how to do :D It's one of the next things I was thinking about trying out with your top designs!
emzily94 Thank you! Well I'm glad by itchy throat and stuffy nose voice didn't transfer over to the video ;] I've never tried adding beads, but that's a nice idea.
hello, I'm glad to see your video and I want to make that immediately . But I have some problems, I'm Vietnamese so I can't understand all what you said. Could you give me the chart ? Thank you so much.
2 questions! How long did this take you to do? And also how much yarn did you use? Thank you so much! Also this is beautiful I am definitely going to attempt to make one my self!
Usually these answers are in the description box, but it says she took 2 hours to make it and about 1020 yards of 4 weight yarn, but she doesn't say what brand. Hope this helped!
This top doesn't have a back to it? Wouldn't it feel unsafe or showing too much skin? I mean i know a halter already shows alot of skin but i wanna try this out too and i'm afraid of the top falling when i wear it? Are there suggestions to what i can do to make it more secure? Btw its a really nice top, i like it alot
I did the exact same thing as you and ended up with a very large section of double crochets (even though I increased one on each side, like you did in the video :( ) any tips?
+Marta Corado I tried it 4 times now and the double crochet part always ends up beeing very "bulky"... :( I haven't figured out yet how to fix that... You maybe?
Instead of increasing every row. Only increase every other row. For example instead of doing 1 double crochet then 3 then 5. Do 2 rows of 1 double crochet then 2 rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Hope that helps!
Love your work but i believe the bottom of this halter top requires abt 3 single crochet rows to gain some more length.those of you who are saying its bulging in the middle when u wear this top the stitches will pull therefore it wont bulge anymore..
Also, on the single crochet rows where you are not chaining one any longer, after you turn the work, do you skip the very first DC where the loop on the hook is coming out of?
If I wanted this to be a regular top and not a crop top can I just continue with the single crochets and chaining one at the end and then start the double crochet and no chaining at the end or would that come out looking weird?
My double crochet part always bulks up and is way bigger than the other part. Should I skip a single crochet before I double crochet the next one? Because the top looks so not smooth🙈
I dear can you do an other try for this top? because I have a lot of problem with this.... the top is too larg in the center of the cage... -.- please can You help me?
Try only increasing every other row. For example do 2 rows of 1 double crochet then 2 rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Hope that helps!
Im having a really hard time. I started this over like 5 times and im at the point now where i just want to give up . The middle part where the double crochets are is really puffy looking and wierd idk what im doing wrong but its annoying. And its a lot wider than urs in the middle. Please help
instead of adding 2 double crochet to each row. Do 2 rows of the same number of crochets. For example instead of doing 1 double crochet in the first row then 3 double crochet in the next then 5 in the next... Do two rows of 1 double crochet then two rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Hope that helps!
hi, I need help!!! I tried this video and it went totally wrong :( the middle part is everytimes higher than simple crotchet parts and then it is bulking out. I don't know, what to do I tried everything. Please, help
hi ! I'm very interested in your video but I just recently started learn knitting. Can you given me specific instructions? you slow down a bit for me to follow offline! Actually, my English is not good. Will you help me ? Please....😢
Do you skip a stitch when making the DC or no? because my stitches does not come out like yours. Mines are more close together, its like you cant see the space like how yours one looks. I tried skipping a stitch and it comes out looking like yours but im not sure if thats how you do it or no. please help :(
Tried making this , not good. You left out extra instructions and mine looked nothing like yours and I can see you started decreasing at some point but you failed to mention it in the video.
Instead of increasing every row. only increase every other. For example do 2 rows of 1 double crochet then 2 rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Great vídeo! Thank you :) but I have a question: I've done an halter top with single crochet (not this one, but the same way) and I have a problem under de boobs :( when I use my top, under my boobs doesn't fits very well, it's like I have to crochet more stitches around my boobs and make it bigger so, under they, keeps smaller. I don't know if i've explained my self, my english is not very good :( jaja I hope somebody could help me :'(
Gracias, hasta ahora veo tu mensaje .gracias sus muy amable. En estos días te mando un mensaje diciéndote donde me quede es guarde el trabajo jeje. Gracias muy linda
This is such a frustrating pattern. I did it half a dozen times and followed the instructions given and took advice from the comments. You never know how wide to make it because there's nothing showing the back. I agree with other people who say there's instructions missing. Did she mention crocheting the outer edges? It's on the finished one. And the photo in the description is different too. I'm going to try something else with a written pattern.
I've also tried this pattern a million times and every time either the middle part is too wide (major boobie action) or I run out of single stitches before it's even half the size of this one. if you find a good written pattern for this one please let me know cause it's really cute
I’m so excited to finally have someone explain this pattern so I could understand it .. My college granddaughter will love this .. thx for keeping me in the loop with your clear instructions….
So easy and mine came out great. I love that I don't have to skip through a long video. Need more like this.
It didn't come out all bulky in the middle?
+Jalah Horton at first it came out bulky and rounded but I did it more than once.
and what did you change to make it work?
+Jalah Horton yes I rarely follow patterns.
no im asking you, what did you change to make the pattern work?
You should do that remake! I'm having a lot of trouble figuring this out! thanks girl :)
Omg! I've been trying to find how to make this halter top everywhere and couldn't find it! Thank you!!
Nani Taysha You're so welcome! Happy to help :D
I have been trying to figure it out for weeks and now i could finally do one for the summer
Enchanted Have fun crocheting :D

Isabel Versace I actually still don't know how to do it the exact way, but this was the closest I could get. Glad to help! :D
:)
I love this so much it has inspired me to crochet just wondering is it possible to make the actual top longer though just above Belly button?
Great and simple explanation! So awesome! Wish you would've posted how you look with it at the end! Thanks :)
aww feel better! love it also and love your videos! it makes me want to crochet more!
Nikita & KD Thank you! Yay have fun crocheting :D

Felicia Padilla Hmm, it sounds like you need to make less double crochets. Try decreasing a bit more in each row, that way it doesn't bulge(:

I love it I hope I can make one just like it. Did u have a pattern or did u make it up? It looks very professional!
Diana Smith I just made it up(: Thank you :D

+Brynna Sooy did you figure out how to fix it?

I did the exact same thing as you and ended up with a very large section of double crochets (even though I increased one on each side, like you did in the video :( ) any tips?
me tooooo!
same thing happened to mine! lol I'm just gonna add straps that go across the back like rib style no ties and make it a Bando :)
+Marta Corado I tried it 4 times now and the double crochet part always ends up beeing very "bulky"... :( I haven't figured out yet how to fix that... You maybe?
+AngelChii no :(((((

The Drunken Crochet Game rules: take a shot every time she says “double crochet” !
beautiful and easier than it look. thanks.
Also, on the single crochet rows where you are not chaining one any longer, after you turn the work, do you skip the very first DC where the loop on the hook is coming out of?
Yeah skip that

Hello, sorry, how many chains make for long?? Thanks;)
i am trying to get that triangle shape that you are talking about, do you ever skip a row? instead of changing one?
Do you know if I am able to make the crop top a little bit less of a crop top and make it longer?
I dear can you do an other try for this top? because I have a lot of problem with this.... the top is too larg in the center of the cage... -.- please can You help me?
Try only increasing every other row. For example do 2 rows of 1 double crochet then 2 rows of 3 double crochet then 2 rows of 5 double crochet and so on. Hope that helps!

+Victoria Crawford did you figure out how to fix it?
Подскажи пожалуйста какую пряжу ты используешь ?
this is not working :( I tried making this 5 Times and the DC middle part always gets bulky... Pleaase help!

+Maddie Martin Thank you! :D
+Krystal Everdeen you're welcome! im a new subscriber and im binge watching your videos!
What ply is this wool? I'm from australia and we don't use weights 😔
Do I still skip the 2nd chain when I'm starting the row again because that what shown in the enchanted halter top?
I think you did a good job, but please do a remake with a different design in the middle😊
***** I just did(:
hi, I need help!!! I tried this video and it went totally wrong :( the middle part is everytimes higher than simple crotchet parts and then it is bulking out. I don't know, what to do I tried everything. Please, help
+Adela Fekete did you figure out how to fix it
No, but im going to try to make whole top double crochet and in the middle chain double and then one or two single.
Can you criss cross the straps on this top thank you xx
Did you skip a chain when you were doing the first round of single crochet?
IT'S SOOOO COMPLICATED!
do you happen to have a written out pattern or chart?
Can u please do a crochet purse like the ones from target
Is there a way to translate this into knitting terms? I don't have and crochet hooks, only knitting needles.
hi ! I'm very interested in your video but I just recently started learn knitting. Can you given me specific instructions?
you slow down a bit for me to follow offline! Actually, my English is not good. Will you help me ? Please....😢
Hola , es maravilloso, me encanta, por favor podria subtitularlo en español? Un saludo. GRACIAS
Do you skip a stitch when making the DC or no? because my stitches does not come out like yours. Mines are more close together, its like you cant see the space like how yours one looks. I tried skipping a stitch and it comes out looking like yours but im not sure if thats how you do it or no. please help :(
Chysie Castillo-Kamei the same thing happened to me... don't DC into the stitch, but instead DC into the hole under the stitch.
do you have the written crochet pattern also?🙋🏽
She said a while ago that she does not do written patterns.
I just ask her the same thing.u check my question .but i will try to do the same as the other person is saying to not increase all the rows

+J Hill-Doss Make it fit according to your body :)
+Krystal Everdeen i tried that and i came out too small on the breast art.. maybe im doing something wrong.. im a beginner.
The top of the beginning is not the same of the end... with what you explain the result is different... totally dissapointed...
