This is one of the worst takes in recent memory. You'll regret this one man. As someone who watched pac-12 football religiously (not because it's great but because it's home), I can honestly say Herbert is a baller, a competitor, and nothing means more to him than football. Watch the rose bowl again, watch his pre and post game interviews, then try and say he "doesn't love football".
A lot of people who get into sports commentary (or entertainment commentary in general) start falling in love with their own voice and forget how to stay truly objective when assessing talent. The fact that this Zach guy even thinks his gut feeling about a college prospect matters is ridiculous. What matters is the kind of football player Herbert is (the tape), his football IQ, and his willingness to improve his game and lead in the locker room. Basically, Zach is slowly turning into Colin Coward :((((((
Joe Burrow is more expressive then Justin Herbert, that doesn’t mean Herbert “doesn’t love football.” Herbert stays level headed, never too high never too low. You have no idea what’s in his heart. He’s just quiet, what’s wrong with that? Nothing.
Herbert grew up in Eugene watching Oregon football every Saturday, the guy loves the game. Just because you’re not out there waiving the ra ra flag in everyone’s faces doesn’t mean you don’t have a passion for the game.
William Miller lmfaoo but he’s doesn’t love the game smh. idiotic criticism. he’s gonna be fine. never had great skill players around him and underwent coaching changes in college. still a solid qb on a competitive team
His grandfather played for Oregon his dad his brother him & his younger brother ALL played. He played Baseball & Basketball too. It's not like he didn't have a choice.
TRAVIS RODGERS I’m not tryna sound like a dick, but it’s college. In college the best athletes can easily takeover a game, but in the NFL the smartest athlete gets the win.
@@bryanlutz7950 I'm referring to this years talent at WR compared to JH talent. If you're going to evaluate JH as a QB then you have to evaluate what WR's he has to throw to. We found that none of Oregon's WR's are first round talent. Simple
Also keep in mind Burrow is having a great 1 and done, so the sense of the "experience of the moment" might mean more than a 3 year starter who was kinda always considered a first rounder since his freshman year.
R. Biko, all due respect ... Burrow has put up arguably the greatest NCAA #s in history in the toughest Div of all the SEC. 60 TDs - 6 INTs - 5,300 yds - Heisman & National Champ.
And has a top 5 college OL, the top head coach arguably. Justin Jefferson 1st round WR, Jamir Chase WR who will be a top 5 pick, a 1st round RB and the BEST defense to set him up. Lol bro you don’t watch football
I agree with you. I just watched the doc on Tom Brady versus the other six quarterbacks picked ahead of him in his draft class. Herbert doesn’t show a fraction of the fire and passion of a Brady, or a Joe Burrow. He probably will follow in the footsteps of his idol Joey Harrington, a flash in the pan.
@Andre Jarquin Boy, it appears I was wrong. But life is long. We'll see. It can be argued that Burrows is still the better of the two, since he has literally turned around a franchise without a fraction of the talent around Herbert. Remember, Herbert is still 2-4 and they've got the Broncos next.
He is usually quite on point with his football analysis, and one good game from Herbert in a losing effort does not mean he is wrong, either. That said, it looks like Herbert is taking his coaching to heart based upon his performance last week.
@@bigtimetimmyjim6486 No he's strong opinion sports for a reason he makes alot of poor takes and you can clearly tell. His critques of herbert have more to do with off the field issues
EpicConspiracy You missed my point. Everyone said Luck had a lot of interest outside of football. Even questioning if he loved football. The same thing he is saying here about Herbert.
As a Colts fan I think the comparison might be apt. Always felt like Luck gave football all he had when he was playing, but unlike most NFL players, playing in the NFL wasn't the only thing he wanted to do. If Herbert has a lot of other interests you always have to worry about him retiring early. He has other stuff he wants to do and the millions to do it with.
Him n luck have similar personality traits is what u trying to say I agree i live in Indianapolis luck always had a lot other interests him and Peyton is night n day
I can't wait until Justin Herbert absolutely kills it in the NFL and all these critiques start talking highly of him lol His personality reminds of Khawi Leonard very mellow of the court but on the court he's about his business and shows exceptional leadership.
The difference between Herbert and Kawhi Leonard is that Kawhi has infinitely more skill and versatility within his sport than Herbert has. Herbert has a canon, but struggles with accuracy and has no touch on his throws. If Herbert is a bust, it won’t be because he lacks heart, it’s because he’s really not that good of a quarterback.
I think he’s going to be a bust. Too many red flags. Doesn’t handle pressure well at all and I was at the ASU game and wasn’t impressed besides the arm strength sometimes lol. Can’t wait to see how your comment ages. I’ll revisit this in a couple years for an I told you so or props for the bold claim
@anthony gomes He often overthrew his wideouts or would throw a bad pass leading them into middle of the field contact. He also had the highest rate of screen passes out of every QB in this draft class (yes, even over Tua). Watch his tape. Just because he has a canon for an arm doesn’t mean he’s Favre. Accuracy isn’t just about completion percentage, especially when you throw more screens than any other QB and you have one of the best o-line’s in college football going against Pac-12 defenses. It’s also about his ability to throw timed passes with touch and to throw into tight windows/tight coverage. And he doesn’t do that well.
Watch the videos. It's all screen passes. When he throws downfield, it's the same story as last year. Just all over the place. Still good for the occasional great throw, but he's incredibly erratic.
I slightly disagree your take on his love for the game. It feels like every touchdown he is excited or running down to the end zone to celebrate with his teammates. Just my opinion.
It's not wrong he doesnt go crazy but he does fist pumps excited skips all that jazz. This dude is focusing on his personality and says some bullshit like he doesnt love the game. Go watch the 2016 cal game dude showed all kinds of emotion in that game alone. I usually like this guy but this one is not well looked into at all. He doesnt give credit to herbert for dealing with 3 different offensive plays callers or 3 different head coaches. Herbert definitely let's shit get to him when the teams not clicking but other than that. This guys is barely right
He’s really confusing being an introvert with not loving the game. These two things do not always correlate. Also saying he didn’t get better is bogus.
Im sure Justin loves football. But maybe not as much as others. I think he has gotten better every year. Better footwork, better at looking off the defense. Better progression. Also im pretty sure je lifts with the lineman. He has put on 20+ pounds of muscle over the years. Everyone said the same thing about Marcus being quite. But Marcus is a fierce competitor. I've seen it. Im not sure I've seen that in Justin. Incredible talent though
Marcus is more competitive than anyone on the team even on the bench. So damn sad we couldn't make it work with him I genuinely love him as a person and a player but it's clear he's not our guy. I wish whoever picks him up good luck, he has a chance to be a gem
Aight Joe burrow and Justin Herbert are vastly different characters. And they have vastly different personalities. Herbert loves football. Burrow loves football. Just because Herbert isn’t as vocal as burrow doesn’t mean he’s a bad qb or doesn’t love football. And if you look at burrows junior season it is very similar as herberts. But in burrows senior season he got an excellent offensive coordinator and Herbert was left in a very different offense with a very bland offensive coordinator. And to an external observer that may look like Herbert doesn’t love football like joe burrow does, but what it really is, is that they are different people, who play the position differently, who present themselves differently. And it’s okay to be like Herbert or like burrow. But people wouldn’t be saying that burrow is the same player he is and has the same love for that game if he didn’t have his senior year offensive coordinator. Herbert is a great qb. And I speculate he will do great in the NFL.
Mailednaillegos 😂 well no shit Joe wouldn’t be as good, he got an amazing coach to take on the passing game. But as Coach Joe Brady as said himself he has never coached a quarterback who learns faster than burrow and that he will pick up on some things faster than Drew Brees did. If you can pick up anything faster than drew brees about football then your a pretty good quarterback
I love you started the video make sure that's your feeling inside, people used to say that and show shit numbers to say they are right and don't have the honesty to say what you said. Great attitude!
I respect your opinion, but I strongly disagree. While Joe Burrow looks like he’s more passionate about football, you gotta give Herbert a lot of credit for coming back for his Senior year to continue to get better. If that’s not commitment, then I don’t know what is. Herbert didn’t have to tell everyone that he’s improved or that he’s passionate about football. He showed it. Along with his great size and arm strength, his accuracy is much better and his release is incredible. In my opinion, he’s the best player in college football this year that nobody talks about.
Hopefully Justin Herbert makes me eat my words later but I have to agree with Zac on this one...this reminds me of 2012 draft class QB order Luck, RG3 and Tannehill and late 3rd Russell Wilson. -Burrow, Tua then Justin Herbert and late round Jalen Hurts 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
vikings are boss28 i honestly dont trust any qb who plays in a division ending in 12 lol doesnt mean there arent some good ones, just there college success doesnt say too much
Just took Oregon from 4-8 to 12-2 . . . and Won the Rose Bowl, had 3 TD's in Oregon's defeat of the Mighty Bradgers . . . You did to sit down and have a Conversation with Justin before JUDGING HIS LOVE for the game . . .
@@smokinjaycutler853 Oh I know that, I think Daniel Jones will be better in the long run than Baker, and I think that Herbert will be better in the long run than at least 1 of the other top 3 Quarterbacks in this draft.
I hope you saw the emotion he displayed in the Rose Bowl and now realize that this take is wrong. Maybe watch the interviews of Herbert where he’s reduced to tears when talking about his time at Oregon. He’s introverted for sure, but just because he isn’t a real vocal guy doesn’t mean he doesn’t love football. Also, give Herbert the same supporting cast as Burrow and he’d put up just as glamorous of stats.
You are completely off base on the passion aspect. Justin has admitted in interviews that sometimes he gets so jacked up for a game that he struggles early on because his adrenaline is jacked and he can't control how hard he throws the ball. That's not something that happens to someone that doesn't love football. He's just not the type of guy to express his emotions demonstrably, but you can still see flashes in the way he celebrates with his teammates. I think his lackluster play is a factor of the fact Mario Cristobal isn't that invested in focusing on quarterbacks. That's a flaw he needs to overcome eventually. He just doesn't run the type of offense that features the quarterback that much, which isn't good when you have a talent like Herbert. You notice the more he's allowed Arroyo to open up the playbook, the better Justin has looked. His play is a result of having his skills handcuffed, not a lack of passion. I'd point to the first five games of his sophomore year as proof of this. Under a coach that was committed to utilising his full skills, he was lighting it up. Then Cristobal came in and he is very conservative in how he wants the game played.
@@JJ-zr6fu With absolutely no starting receivers and an offensive coordinator who had his hands cuffed by the head coach play calling wise. It's funny how nobody mentions that fact when they bring up Auburn.

@@JJ-zr6fu Lets not pretend like Nix was basically a high schooler. He proved this year he was a fantastic quarterback regardless of what year he was. And how do you define being a "winner"? He's led the Ducks to their first Pac-12 championship since 2014 and their first Rose Bowl birth since that same season. That's a damn good season. And since when has being a national championship quarterback been an indicator of NFL potential? Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, John Elway, Dan Marino, Peytom Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Rothlisberger, Terry Bradshaw. Those are some of the best quarterbacks there has ever been. And guess what they have in common? None of them won a BCS National Championship. Hell, several of them struggled their final year in college or routinely had their job threatened.
@@kyletucker3811 Bo Nix was essentially a high schooler he was playing in his first college game less than a year after his last high school game. Of all the guys you named only Brady, Montana, and Manning went to schools that had the history of winning championships and Montana did win it. Every other one except Unitas were outstanding and never fought off anyone their senior years. Herbert is at Oregon which has Nike invested in it to win and yet he could only manages to win one Pac-12 championship in a down year where Utah was the second best team. He came back this season and did what win a depressed conferences loose to a freshman QB and when they were on the inside track to the playoff loose to a 7-5 ASU. Oregon probably would've won the conference with the backup and beat Auburn so at best he had a net zero impact. Rodger Staubach won the heisman trophy at the Naval Academy. Johnny Unitas went to a school deefisied sports and was injured senior and was drafted in the 9th round Joe Montana won a national championship and won his last college game despite getting hypothermia during it coming back from behind. He was drafted in the 3rd round due to his build. John Elway played at Stanford at a time they didn't emphasize football despite not having a winning season still is in the college football hall of fame and was PAC 10 player of the year twice also while playing baseball at Stanford and was draft number 1 in the NFL and second round in the MLB Dan Marino went 11-1 at Pitt for 3 years you know that blue blood Pitt. He was drafted in the 1st round. Peyton Manning despite being projected a top went back his senior year and went 11-1 winning many awards. He was drafted 1st. Tom Brady was 20-5 as a starter at Michigan. He was drafted in the 6th round because physically wasn't impressive and sat a year. Drew Brees led Purdue to its first Rose Bowl in 34 years also won numerous awards. Drafted in the 1st round Aaron Rodgers led Cal to a 10-1 season and was ranked 4th in the polls. He was drafted in the 1st round. Roethlisberger set all types of records at Miami (OH) and senior year led them to be ranked 10 in the AP poll. 1st round pick. Terry Bradshaw went to La Tech and tore it up there going 17-4 in two season he was phenomenal there despite it being La Tech. Drafted 1st.
Joe burrow is one of the best college players we have seen in a long time. I feel like we are somehow expecting Herbert to match him and when he doesn’t we take away a ton of credit.
My concerns with him came about last year when he chose to stay in school. It was not the decision to stay in school that bothered me, I actually admire it when done for the right reason. My concern was that he seemed oftly worried about what team would draft them because he didnt want to go to certain places for all the wrong reasons. There were reports that he was concerned about things like lifestyle, weather, and east coast city life(because teams like the Skins and Giants were interested.) I could understand if he was worried about an organization with a bad track record, but that isnt what reports were saying. They were saying that he was concerned with "lifestyle" and that he liked his west coast "lifestyle." I also think he is going to be lower rated in this class, than he was in last year's class where the early reports were that the Skins, Broncos and especially the Giants were interested. Last year I think he is a top 10 maybe even a top 5 pick. As it stands, he needs a good offseason to have a shot at that now.
This mentality is why so many QBs Shit the bed in the NFL. If they don't think they're ready and they'd rather spend another year improving, bulking up, etc etc... By all means let them do it!
No it's called scouting, you don't need to be a coach to scout as long as you have a wealth of information to fall back on. Herbert has not improved his approach to playing QB, foot work, arm mechanics, he's not elusive with the little speed he has, the little ball flip he does is an accident waiting to happen, he has certain things you like but he's not consistent enough to be top 10 in the draft unless you're willing to develop him for 2-3 years. A NFL pass rush would eat him alive DL men knock down passes, guys like Aaron Donald, Von Miller Khalil Mack, Jamie Collins will be sacking you in literally 1 or 3 seconds, safety's disguise thier intentions, etc etc. Some people watch one team some people follow everything that's happening around the league with every obscure player.
ProDay is also questionable because of the lack of game speed but you simulate that by having a fast intense game plan showing you can adjust on fly and be consistent if you have question marks.
Sean M. R Have you actually watched this show before? Zac breaks down film pretty well imo and actually takes the time to evaluate a player as opposed to other talk shows that just use empty opinions to create a narrative. He also clearly stated this was his felling and his opinion and you would probably not agree. I think someone needs to take time to listen and not get butt hurt about some fair criticism.
The offensive line does not sustain itself long enough or crest holes for Minshew and Lenny respectively. Our first round draft picks should be used to bolster that.
Thank You Zach for your opinion !! My Chargers are in the process of getting a new QB and Herbert is one of the QBs that I’ve heard fans want is Herbert. I hope we don’t get him after this. Maybe Jalen Hurts or maybe trade up for Tua.
Zarren Oasay i’m with you i think his ceiling is under josh allen’s and the chargers don’t need that, i hope tua is better by the season and philip stays one more year so tua can sit under him while he heals, i feel it would be a perfect situation for him. The chargers are also very talented and have a lot of weapons so maybe tuas injury drops his stock to 7...
I think sometimes young QB's with extraordinary skills (big arm) dont celebrate much because they haven't experienced total domination with 1st ed receivers on a regular basis. Put Herbert in at LSU QB and you will get same or better performance.
When watching Herbert, I can definitely say that i would hope for him to make a bigger jump from last year to this year. Still has problems handling pressure, can be very inconsistent, and stares down receivers. This may be a bit nit picky but his dropback under center can sometimes be a little awkward but that's just me. I can say that he has really nice NFL throw power and can put the ball in a good spot. His throw on the run is impressive and can deliver. That being said, he should be good with play action. If i was an organization, I would take him late in the first round because of his ceiling but I definitely would put him behind a veteran his rookie year if possible. I feel like i may be one of the few that think as of now 12/24/19, he'd be better than Tua. That is mostly based on the injury concern. Tua has less arm strength and having a hip injury hampers his ability to get more velocity on the ball. But Tua is easily the smarter quarterback between the two. The reason I feel he has such a high ceiling is his height and athleticism along with his arm power and accuracy. His weaknesses are very apparent. He needs to get better at his pocket presence by knowing when to throw it out or take a sack for example, when to run, inconsistency, and the general quarterback intangibles like not staring his receivers down. Thank you if you read through this. Tell me if you agree or disagree.
His demeanor reminds me of Sam bradford..calm collective guy, but the passion is there it just takes the right people and moments to see it come out of him
You're forgetting JH has had 3 different coaches while he's been at UO. Helfrich, Taggart and Cristobol. Pretty impressive to have succeeded at all. Even learning 3 new playbooks in 4years made 3 bowls in the last 3 years of his career. pretty impressive.
Main two things that translate to the NFL 1) Is he good under pressure? 2) Can he improvise when plays break down? Everything else is less important or can be taught/learned
He has the physical tools, but he’s missing something in his game. I can’t really nail down what that is though. I’m not really into judging ones “lovel and “passion” for football though.
Something like that. The other week Seattle radio had an interview with Russ Wilson's brain coach, all about his relentless positive attitude. In the Arizona State game you could see that Herbert was down and couldn't pick up the team. Maybe its not like/love But positive/negative attitude. That ability to accept that your behind X points but to percerver knowing that you're the better team and will win.
Look at what Wilson did to get the starting job in seattle to start with. Came in and out-worked the guy they just paid to take the job. 100% loves the game, always tinkering, working on his stuff, working out what works best with his receivers, working with the O-coordinator, just doing all of it.
As a life long Ducks fan and an Oregon alum, I think you are correct with your gut feeling, but with a caveat-- Justin just fulfilled his dream-- winning the Rose Bowl as an Oregon QB. Consider that he grew up 2 miles from Autzen Stadium and that his family has strong ties to Oregon football. His entire heart commitment was to Oregon football, but not football in a universal sense. I don't think he has a lot of passion to play professional football. He has other aspirations, as demonstrated by being a 4.0 GPA student.
Going to pause and give my thoughts before hearing yours. I am a Ducks fan. In my opinion he was a good QB but not a great QB. His numbers came at large against inferior opponents. He MIGHT make a solid QB in the pros but wont be top tier. I am very much hoping he proves me wrong but its what I saw watching him. Edit after watching. Yep. We are on the same page here. I see exactly what you see. I thought he was going to light it up this year. He was ok. Just didn't get me hyped up. Where as my second team Memphis who almost never gives me much to cheer about had me watching intently all season. I wanted my Colts to get Herbert. Honestly now I hope they keep Brisset and draft Brady White. Herbert wont be worth the draft pick his name is going to be called at.
@@connorleblanc5435 I agree with you. I do think he would be a good backup. I hope the Colts keep Jacoby as the starter because other than the LSU QB I don't see any QB being worth top picks. Even though we all know they will be. The Colts don't have a good options as a back up so that is where I see Brady White on our team. You are correct though probably not a starter.
Herbert grew up in Oregon, wanted to play for Oregon, returned to play his senior year for Oregon when millions were available in the pros., after already graduating 4.0 plus. The Dude was said to be in tears and emotional all week prior to the Rose Bowl, you saw his emotion after the game.... They say he’s somewhat of an introvert and a smart young man. Okay, unlike other players who only have football, I’m sure Herbert would have other options. But I have no doubt about his love for the game after watching him all year. In regards to his ability, he can be inconsistent at times and needs to improve his touch passes. He often rockets his throws with his big arm. Oregon offensive scheme and coaching is another debate. Overall, I like Herbert and have him at # 2 behind Burrow. Ahead of Tua due to injury. And Jordan Love? Only time will answer these questions, but I really like him as a pro.
He's introverted. He's not outwardly passionate. But you can see that he loves the important aspects of football like the family aspect (stayed at college partially cuz his lil brother was gonna join the team) and the "thinking football" kinda way
I haven't followed him his entire career but I'm a big draft nut. I see a lot of emotion in his interviews. Looks like he loves the game. He just might be an introvert or something. Doesn't show that fire. But teams would be crazy to pass up on this kid

I think you're misunderstanding the eye test. The eye test is looking at their size and arm strength. Herbert passes the eye test. Accuracy and personality is looking at the intangibles.

Ugly girlfriend means no confidence
Takes balls to have hot chicks.. Interesting point, I bet this QB has plenty of hot tail,
A lot of people who get into sports commentary (or entertainment commentary in general) start falling in love with their own voice and forget how to stay truly objective when assessing talent. The fact that this Zach guy even thinks his gut feeling about a college prospect matters is ridiculous. What matters is the kind of football player Herbert is (the tape), his football IQ, and his willingness to improve his game and lead in the locker room. Basically, Zach is slowly turning into Colin Coward :((((((
Jordy Williams his girlfriend is a 6 at best
He seems to describe him like jay cutler
James Hartman him and Drew Lock are definitely Cutler clones talent wise and I don’t think that’s a bad thing
Kaleb Ward it’s not, Cutler was one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen, I just mean the way he was describing his personality
James Hartman I hear you man, Lock already looks more motivated then cutler ever has let’s see with Herbert lol
Jay Cutler is my favorite QB of all time. Idk why but drew lock reminds me of him
Paul Kaus cuz that’s his son lol, same skill set and they played very similar
Joe Burrow has IT. Whatever IT may be. Herbert doesn't seem to. I'm with you on this.
Chris Gillis
Joe Burrows is The Guy.
Chris Gillis people said Baker Mayfield has “it.” He doesn’t. Maybe Joe Burrow will transition better
Donte Matteo Baker still has a decent ceiling though, his playcalling is just terrible
Donte Matteo Baker does have IT, he broke the record for most rookie TDs for a reason . But losers like you base things off one bad season
TheOnly GOAT obviously a salty browns fan😂
Joe Burrow is more expressive then Justin Herbert, that doesn’t mean Herbert “doesn’t love football.” Herbert stays level headed, never too high never too low. You have no idea what’s in his heart. He’s just quiet, what’s wrong with that? Nothing.
ryan sutter THANK YOU
Did you watch the whole video bucko? He literally says all this.
You know who stays level headed?? Joe Flacco and we know he doesnt love football
Reminds me of brady
He just started his first game and I came here from your apology video.
We need one now
Herbert grew up in Eugene watching Oregon football every Saturday, the guy loves the game. Just because you’re not out there waiving the ra ra flag in everyone’s faces doesn’t mean you don’t have a passion for the game.
Justin herbert is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
He is a life long football fan, he went to every home game at Oregon in his childhood.
Did you watch Herbert after the rose bowl game? I think you’re clearly wrong in this statement
Zach Lee yeah man that shit was emotional
And he literally put the team on the his back and beat a stout ass defense.
Zach Lee it’s a college bowl game... there’s nothing hard about getting emotional for it. Plus, it was his last college game and he knew that
TRAVIS RODGERS I’m not tryna sound like a dick, but it’s college. In college the best athletes can easily takeover a game, but in the NFL the smartest athlete gets the win.
mega bust
I love this show. But I have to respectfully disagree Zac.
Herbert is not blessed with top round talent around him at Oregon. He has outperformed. He is underrated.
Do you know the Oregon Ducks @ all or just speaking out your ass ?

Thats a big false buddy, Are we just gonna forget Oregon has always been a good team?
@@bryanlutz7950 I'm referring to this years talent at WR compared to JH talent. If you're going to evaluate JH as a QB then you have to evaluate what WR's he has to throw to. We found that none of Oregon's WR's are first round talent. Simple
@@wc3350 couldn't agree more. Burrow Lawrence and Fromm all have day one wr talent

@@6wHeisenberg Joe sure as hell isn't winning the championship with Oregon's roster
@Andre Jarquin yessir👍I am a Duck alum and nothing would make me happier.
Lmao, this didn’t age well. When I first saw this video, I knew I would never listen or watch any of his other videos
His critques of herbert have more to do with off the field issues
he felt so strongly about this, he put out 7 videos saying how Herbert sucked and was a guaranteed bust. Still waiting for his apology video.
This sounds like what people have said about Andrew Luck.
People have said Herbert is very introverted.
Christine C umm no. Literally everyone said luck was the best qb prospect since Elway entering the draft.
Him n luck have similar personality traits is what u trying to say I agree i live in Indianapolis luck always had a lot other interests him and Peyton is night n day
This didn't age well.
I can't wait until Justin Herbert absolutely kills it in the NFL and all these critiques start talking highly of him lol
His personality reminds of Khawi Leonard very mellow of the court but on the court he's about his business and shows exceptional leadership.
I really like the Kawhi Leonard comparison
Herbert will totally dominate the board in the NFL, .
He had more passing yards, Touchdowns, and less interceptions then he did last year but he “stopped getting better” 🤔
Yeah but his draft stock/hype fell way off from where it was last year
The Keeper I think that’s a good thing for him tho cuz he’ll probably be on a better team now lol
The Keeper there’s better QB’s coming out this year compared to last year
The Keeper lmao no it didn’t. He just had one of the best seasons in all of college football. And hugely improved over last year.
Watch the videos. It's all screen passes. When he throws downfield, it's the same story as last year. Just all over the place. Still good for the occasional great throw, but he's incredibly erratic.
Justin has had 3 new coaches in 4 years, given time he will be a great QB in the NFL.
How does your gut feel now? :D
I've been waiting for this video and am so glad to see it here!
I’ve been feeling off about him too and I couldn’t quite figure out what it is, but I think you make a really strong argument
I think whatever team Herbert goes to he will be good if he doesn’t play in his rookie season
I love you started the video make sure that's your feeling inside, people used to say that and show shit numbers to say they are right and don't have the honesty to say what you said. Great attitude!
Well how did that work out?
You can never assume that someone doesn't love football. You see very little of the behind the scene things. You don't just assume that
I respect your opinion, but I strongly disagree.
Justin Herbert didn’t have the caliber WRs as joe nor did they run a nfl offense so it unfair to compare
Should have entered the draft last year while his stock was high instead of going back for another season
And the fact that outside of Kyler Murray, the QB's weren't that great. Justin Herbert probably would've went as the second QB off the board
He would’ve been on the giants if he left last year
TheKandyCinema Daniel Jones 23 TDs in 11 games??
NO
His stock improved greatly since last year. His statistics are better across the board.
From Oregon and have watched Justin for four years. Completely agree with you.
Zac Solo--"I've got a really bad feeling about this." 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hopefully Justin Herbert makes me eat my words later but I have to agree with Zac on this one...this reminds me of 2012 draft class QB order Luck, RG3 and Tannehill and late 3rd Russell Wilson.

Also, give Herbert the same supporting cast as Burrow and he’d put up just as glamorous of stats.
this didn't age well
Enjoy your videos a lot! Great work.
He's also not the type of guy be a winner this season was supposed to be victory lap. He lost to Bo Nix in Nix's first college game of college.
@@JJ-zr6fu With absolutely no starting receivers and an offensive coordinator who had his hands cuffed by the head coach play calling wise. It's funny how nobody mentions that fact when they bring up Auburn.
@@kyletucker3811 Winners find a way to win especially when the are essentially playing a high schooler while they are a four year starter. He also lost to ASU as the number 6 team in the nation. He's just not a winner. Oregon would've been in the playoffs if they beat ASU.
He isn't the winner you think he is a on team with more talent than most of the conference. A winner elevates their teams all the QB's you listed elevated their teams in college.
Was drafted in the 10 round because he had to serve in the navy for 4 years.
Johnny Unitas went to a school deefisied sports and was injured senior and was drafted in the 9th round
Joe Montana won a national championship and won his last college game despite getting hypothermia during it coming back from behind. He was drafted in the 3rd round due to his build.
John Elway played at Stanford at a time they didn't emphasize football despite not having a winning season still is in the college football hall of fame and was PAC 10 player of the year twice also while playing baseball at Stanford and was draft number 1 in the NFL and second round in the MLB
Dan Marino went 11-1 at Pitt for 3 years you know that blue blood Pitt.
Drafted in the 1st round
Aaron Rodgers led Cal to a 10-1 season and was ranked 4th in the polls.
I really appreciate your opinion. He checks the boxes but there's something missing.
Joe burrow is one of the best college players we have seen in a long time. I feel like we are somehow expecting Herbert to match him and when he doesn’t we take away a ton of credit.
Max Clark burrow will be a flash in the pan in NFL! Herbert will kill with NFL quality receivers
They were saying that he was concerned with "lifestyle" and that he liked his west coast "lifestyle."
I also think he is going to be lower rated in this class, than he was in last year's class where the early reports were that the Skins, Broncos and especially the Giants were interested. Last year I think he is a top 10 maybe even a top 5 pick. As it stands, he needs a good offseason to have a shot at that now.

Everyones a nfl coach these days smh 😂
Sean M. R I’m sayin
Hey can you do an analysis of the jaguars offense and give your opinion of where the root of their struggles come from?
MilkmanPlays we just suck thats why
The offensive line does not sustain itself long enough or crest holes for Minshew and Lenny respectively. Our first round draft picks should be used to bolster that.
Thank You Zach for your opinion !! My Chargers are in the process of getting a new QB and Herbert is one of the QBs that I’ve heard fans want is Herbert. I hope we don’t get him after this. Maybe Jalen Hurts or maybe trade up for Tua.

The chargers are also very talented and have a lot of weapons so maybe tuas injury drops his stock to 7...
JL Productions his ceiling is above josh Allen
Tell me if you agree or disagree.
some people get bored with being so good...theye get complacent thinking what their doing is good enough to make it

You're forgetting JH has had 3 different coaches while he's been at UO. Helfrich, Taggart and Cristobol. Pretty impressive to have succeeded at all. Even learning 3 new playbooks in 4years made 3 bowls in the last 3 years of his career. pretty impressive.
I don’t agree when you said he plateaued. If you look at his statistics he’s literally improved every year.
Main two things that translate to the NFL
1) Is he good under pressure?
2) Can he improvise when plays break down?
Everything else is less important or can be taught/learned
He has the physical tools, but he’s missing something in his game. I can’t really nail down what that is though. I’m not really into judging ones “lovel and “passion” for football though.
Uh oh. Most mock drafts suggest the Carolina Panthers are going to take him. I hope he doesn’t turn out like you think.
Film analysis of him please
TheNatewl777 your stupid tua love and Fromm and hurts.
@@errolduplessis9451 Not one of those QB's are going to be any good in the pros. Not one
Sounds like another *Josh Rosen* 😐😑
All the tools but _no passion, no leadership_ .
I was thinking Jamarcus Russell. Size and all the arm talent in the world but doesn’t love football.
I think Rosen has honestly gotten the really short end of the stick since being drafted, has literally never been in a position to do well at all
@@jahvon8083 true that. I've never seen a QB get jobbed like Rosen has.
Watch the patriots pick him up
Herbert high end is another Flacco. Low end he’s another Osweiler
EpicConspiracy Flacco with legs
Are we talking Superbowl Champion Ravens Flacco or Broncos Flacco?
@@shinigamitkd If it's Ravens Flacco then you take that guy #1 overall. Flacco is a super bowl champ and was a consistent killer in the playoffs
He's introverted. He's not outwardly passionate. But you can see that he loves the important aspects of football like the family aspect (stayed at college partially cuz his lil brother was gonna join the team) and the "thinking football" kinda way
So we’re not gonna mention how Joe Brady’s offense has made Joe Burrow a Heisman winner
I haven't followed him his entire career but I'm a big draft nut. I see a lot of emotion in his interviews. Looks like he loves the game. He just might be an introvert or something. Doesn't show that fire. But teams would be crazy to pass up on this kid
I stopped watching you bc you started saying stupid things and hating on Rodgers saying he wasn’t good or elite anymore then he won back to back MVPs and stuff like this. You became just like every other analyst saying the same stuff they say
I’d appreciate it if you listened to my recent work, I work really hard and I definitely don’t just say what other people say, I don’t even know what other people are saying, hope you come back😌✊🏻
Also I am wrong sometimes, that’s part of the job
Had the same feeling when Jags signed Nick Foles...
I had the same feeling about Rosen
patskers1 Rosen was a giant douche and not nearly as gifted physically.
Aaron Humphrey I think he means plateau in his play.
Daily Dad yes I meant his play plateaued. Part due to his lack of physical skills the previous poster mentioned by also because I never felt Rosen put football first.
Rosen just sucked threw a pretty ball and got worse each season he played
One of my favorite videos I’ve seen from this channel, thank you.
Just feel like he has cutler's ceiling, not Great but not terrible.
No way, he's much better than Cutler
@@franknoneofya9585 Cutler was a very solid to good QB in the league during his Denver years and most of his bears years. Everytime I watch Herbert, (which was quite alot over the past 2 seasons) ive never felt he had that IT factor or the potential to be a Top 10 QB in the league.
@@nicholasroot3729 many people felt the same way about Daniel Jones but he's shown he belongs.
Not once did you talk about Herbert not having elite weapons to throw to. That probably makes a difference
HE doesn't pass the eye test too inconsistent, and he is not a leader, he is very introverted.
I think you're misunderstanding the eye test. The eye test is looking at their size and arm strength. Herbert passes the eye test. Accuracy and personality is looking at the intangibles.
@@SomeGuyo maybe you are looking for diffrent things than I am when I evaluate a QB. Consistency and leadership are a big part of my QB evaluation.
@@EditCrew that's not what I look for. That's how analysts defines the eye test. I look for leadership, work ethic and accuracy.
@@SomeGuyo I dont think that is what the eye test is, i think its the things that are immediately apparent from watching a game broadcast, which includes much more then just arm strength and size.
You don't need to be extroverted to be a leader
You loved Baker Mayfield. You loved his intangibles and charisma, a LOT. That was your gut feeling too lol I have that same book.
With all that said, look at Justin's life, his history, his grandpa played for Oregon and is his hero. Herbert grew up in Autzen with the dream of playing QB for OREGON.... Thats intense. Hard for me to think someone who grew up that way isn't in love with the sport.
Ryan Tannehill 2.0.
MrScootmcg So, that’s a good thing.
Tannehill is better than most think. He was putting up pretty good numbers on an abysmal Dolphins team.
