    Brian, Thank You for the "Honest" review of this aircraft.This video clearly shows why your reviews are far superior than your competitors.You tell it like you see it and you do not sugarcoat or blow smoke about how you feel about how planes fly.It's because of that honesty I will recommend your RUclips videos to all of my club members to watch for reviews. Thanks again for the great and noble videos.

    Brian. Good job and flight with the new prop. This one looks like you were more comfortable flying with it. I understand 8s is a bit overkill. But -it’s nice to see the plane can take it for those that may want to spend a little extra to go there. P.S. RCINFORMER in my opinion is not a competitor with you. You and him give us all different perspectives on RC and I see that as a positive - not negative. I met Rich in person. He’s a good guy. Keep up the good work. Happy New Year!! At least being a youtuber FMS sent you a new prop, I was one of the lucky ones that bought an early Futura with a bad motor esc combo that would come down deadstick every flight. If you do, plan on about $200-$300 MORE for this outfit. It's gonna be PRICY. 120amp ESC + 8S packs (or DUAL 4S and adapters). I think it's really pretty good now. I actually CAN'T believe the prop is even different!??!?!? Did you see how pissed off I looked in the "build" part of this video??? I was trying HARD not to show it...but I was like WTF - you idiots sent me the same prop - LOL.
      Either way, I know RC informer did a real nice job "fixing" this plane, but between two dudes...why would you need to drop another 50-75% to make this PNF fly "fast enough" - I think that's an FMS issue....but I think she's good now ;)

A 3d plane of mine gained a noticable amount of full throttle power by recalibrating it. Goofing around with throttle while powering one up is enough to throw some out of calibration.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 года назад

      This is the only size offered for this plane, which might seem a bit of a misnomer, since FMS pulled the first 18X11 props, which is where this video came from...
      So now for the confusing, and stupid part - They didn't make a new part number...they supposedly threw away the OLD ones and just replaced the part within the SAME part number - EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW - bad call, but whatever gets the job done...it just leaves a lot of room for issues, if you ask me.

      It's somewhere between unlikely, and impossible for you to understand what's going on, when you only see what's going on in front of the camera, and HEAR everything as though we're right there. We work in pretty close quarters, so when she's wondering onto the runway, I have to communicate. To add insult to injury, we're both wearing lapel mics, so you (as a viewer) don't understand where I am compared to where she is...in fact, because she does such a great job, you'll probably never understand this, so the best I can say is take my word for it. Megan and I understand each other, and both take this work very seriously, but since we're both necessarily laser focused on what we're doing, my communication can be misunderstood by you (the viewer) as short, rude, whatever you want to make of it. This is almost always unavoidable when seconds count. What we do is a LOT harder than it looks, if that weren't already obvious, so the second guessing isn't appreciated. We always want to take constructive criticism, but this type of criticism isn't constructive for her or me.

    Hello Brian, I just bought one of these and have a gear problem. I got the gear down and now the tail wheel won’t go up and the mains close the doors first then retract the mains. Any thoughts to correct this?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад

      Has gotta be the sequencer. I would try this...quickly cycle the gear when first powered up (with the plane held up of course) and then you'll force the sequencer to re-set. You have to do it QUICK!
      Like on-off, in 1 second...then cycle as usual. If that doesn't do it, you'll have to dig out the line and start playing with it to see where she's bad ;(
      Sorry Chris!

    Hi bryan my name is Rick I’m from British Columbia Canada I love your videos and the knowledge you have in the airplanes I’m having a problem with my 3-D airplanes particularly vision air and the night vision the problem is no matter what I do I cannot stop the plane from wagging. When I’m not controlling the airplane is when it wags typically it’s the Rutter

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  3 года назад +1

      Sounds like you have your gyro gains set too high. I call this an oscillation. You can take note of which control axis the plane is wiggling, then adjust DOWN the gain for that axis...
      Pitch, Yaw, Roll. one of them is too high. It's not impossible that you have a genuine issue with the air frame, but I highly doubt it. I bet when you SLOW DOWN, the wiggle STOPS...right? It's your stabilizer trying to over correct, then it has to over correct back past center and the process repeats.
      Good luck, you can fix this!

      Yes, I've been following him for years - he's the real deal, but I don't want to drop 50% the cost of the plane on making it crazy fast. I feel like the F4U is good now, but would be better with more speed, just not so much better that it's worth so much more. I love the way it flies, and another $200-300 for 8S packs and new 120Amp ESC would be kind crazy.
      Let me put it this way. If FMS or Horizon sends me a bigger battery and ESC, I'll install or use them to show how much better it would be, but I think showing an upgraded, of an already fairly expensive plane, might be a bit disingenuous for an RC reviewer ;)
