His voice made you go to the TV to see what’s going on, was watching him since a baby, my parents always had his show on until he passed RIP Larry King 🤴
I remember listening to this program in the car.. I was in my way to work at 4:00am going up I- 24 Going to Charlotte,NC... I was 27 years old, now I’m 67 years old..
I remember listening to larry in the early 80's on the radio, "from the Nation's Capitol, your'e listening to Larry King" He was a ground breaker back then and oh so great, and controversial.
I used accompany my Dad to Iwo Jima reunions. We were standing in line for lunch, cafeteria style, when Sarah McClendon just appeared right behind us. She was very friendly and talkative. She told me just loved to be around the boys.
This is a real memory. I listened to Larry King from the late 70s into the 80s. Loved it on nights while doing work for school, and in the summer. I tried to keep it on all night, but my parents would usually hear and tell me to turn it off. I always liked when he talked about Karen Kling and Felicia Farquard. He had great ability to keep an interview going.
I used to listen to Larry on WCFL Radio in Chicago many a late night during the early '80s. I was in high school, and would do lots of late night homework assignments while listening to his show. I remember Fred Lowery and the show opening very well.
Always enjoyed his " Why are you up ?" night show every year. The show served as an audience survey of the callers who listened to the show during the deep night hours. Larry King would ask the caller his location, why was the caller up, what he/she did for a living or work the caller was involved in, and then talk about the caller's favorite sports team, etc. I liked Mutual. Deep night radio programming has declined over the years.
MITCH SLATER C-SPAN made this video and broadcast it in 1982. Toward the beginning, you can hear Larry say this is the case. During your next phone conversation with Larry, can you please ask him for details about his encounter with Dorothy Kilgallen a few weeks before she died mysteriously? Dorothy lived in New York and visited Miami, possibly for the sole purpose of appearing on Larry’s show on WIOD radio. No recording exists. What details does Larry remember? For example, was Dorothy drunk? She allegedly was drunk on the night she died. Some people dispute this. Dorothy was very much interested in Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby. Mitch, can you please email me and a friend of mine can reimburse you for the time you have spent? faublekathryn@gmail.com I am friendly with Mark Shaw, author of books about Dorothy Kilgallen from 2016 and 2018. Mark has tried to contact Larry King to ask him about Dorothy, but Mark can not get his attention. He needs a contact person. He can compensate you for helping him. Thank you, Mitch, for reading this message. Best wishes, Kathryn Fauble
Jehovah God promises that those who have died will live again in Isaiah 26:19: "Your dead will live. My corpses will rise. Wake up and shout for joy, residents of the dust! For your dew is like the morning dew, and the earth will let those who are powerless in death live again." He will bring them back to life; that is the hope of the resurrection...
I listened to The Larry King Show in the '60's on WERE Radio 1300 which was the Mutual station in Cleveland, Ohio; "This is Mutual, your network for news!" 1300 is some Lefty propaganda station today.

I loved the show and loved the introductory music. Very uplifting!
yeah I liked this theme music better than the music that eventually replaced it

Transistor radio with earphone: "Best of King" on Saturdays. Me, too. Tired the next morning, but worth it!
@@jamescombs8316I miss this era of AM 📻

Larry King must be one of the few celebrities who looks better in his eighties than he did in his forties.
I wouldn't say... Here he almost human looking, later he became much more rat looking, weird.
You must be related. Let's me honest here. I mean really. Lol

I remember listening to this, and used to love when he did the "Gork from the planet Fringus" character.
How did he look so old even back then and still live so long lol

Funny when he gave the phone number I instantly started saying it to myself!
So smooth
I was the associate producer this night and was behind the glass telling larry who the calls were
I asked Larry yesterday and neither of us remembered who this video was shot for

Dude had a voice!!!
Oldest looking and sounding 48 year old of all time!
LEGEND!
The best radio in history was the Larry King radio call-in show the night John Lennon died. Larry and the callers were brilliant that evening.
Larry always had a face for radio.
I engineered the larry king show as a 16 year old in 1979 on a local Springfield ma. Radio station. Wmas.
My first job in radio I engineered the larry king show for a Springfield mb Massachusetts affiliate.
Larry was GEEEKED
Someone help who sings the I'm late song that he played at the end of his show, usually after referencing Duke Zeiberts
Look ma, no headset!
nice oldschool radio show.
There has to be interviews like this with Carl Sagan for sure, right?
Sarah McClendon (1910 - 2003 )
