I have a feeling that the Alaskan adventure has only just begun for our family! Today we're sharing some BIG news with you. We bought an adorable remote off grid log cabin in the wilds of ALASKA! We literally just closed on the deal & can officially call it our own! Come along with us today as we make preps for our first trip to the remote cabin! Tina this is a bless for y’all and this child! As a retired military family also, I would like to share a story of our. We became legal guardians of my niece when she was seven. I was not able to have children and she wanted to live with us so we got legal guardian of her. Then one day she asked us if we would adopt her. I want her to be sure, so I ask her why she wanted to be adopted by us. Her answer was that she wanted a forever home with us and wanted us to be her mom and dad. We adopted her about a year and half after she moved in with us. That little girl just turned 31 last October. She still has a relationship with my brother (her biological dad) and her biological mom. Our beautiful daughter is a mom now and has given us two wonderful grandkids.

What fabulous news all round. Callan and Parker will be such good buddies and school mates, and studying with someone is a good way to fill in the gaps public school always leaves kids with. I homeschooled my 3 kids for a year, and we romped ahead with only 3 hours a day. First thing I did when I was teaching was getting rid of the busy doing nothing stuff that comprises a huge amount of the week. Your new cabin is going to be another fantastic adventure, It must be wonderful to be on the same wave length with your husband, not everyone is so blessed. It's always amazed me how difficult it can be to adopt a child. I realize that people want everything to be good for the child, but what seems like almost perfection, is a bad standard in my opinion when children need just good homes. Congrats on everything, that retirement sounds busy! (Thats a good thing!)

Prayers for safe travels for Callen and his mom. I’ll also be praying for the exchange(can’t think of a better word), I can’t imagine the emotions his mom is going through or the emotions he’ll go through. It seems it’s for his best interest and will definitely be an experience of a lifetime and possibly completely change the trajectory of his life. That will be great for Parker to have a friend! I was thinking if you guys had a new baby you may need a bigger addition then just a pantry room lol Our house is an old farmhouse so our second story has the low cut in ceilings, it’s frustrating to not have the full length of the wall for space and it cuts the rooms up. We are in the process of building an addition but not wanting a huge house to take care of/ heat in the winter.
I’m excited for the adventure to the new cabin! I’ll be curious to see how long it takes you to get up there on snow machine.

You were talking about Moose. I just wanted to throw in my two cents. When we lived in Homer, the natives were very respectful about giving Moose a wide berth. One time I put the kids in the car and realized I had forgotten something. I ran in and hen I got ready to come back, There was a big ole Moose between me and the car . My son (/1/2) was crying and panicked. I had to just stand there and wait until that moose was ready to move on. My kids still talk about that.

So many blessings this year. A new cabin, a boat, and little Callen! So much joy! And I had to laugh when you showed Parker’s room. Definitely real life. I have custody of four of my grandchildren and the three youngest are still with me. My house is always a wreck. The youngest is eight and is autistic and developmentally delayed. I can’t even go to the bathroom without him getting in to something, or several something’s. LOL oh and most definitely heavy whip cream on my coffee. Can’t wait for your next update!

IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS BE PREPARED.. SINCE RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL I STARTED RECYCLING. AND EACH WEEK SHOPPING I ALWAYS BOUGHT A LIL EXTRA SUPPLIES AND ROTATE AND USE WHAT I HAVE. I HAVE TAUGHT BOTH MY DAUGHTERS THE IMPORTANTCE OF THIS AND THEY DO THE SAME FOR THEIR FAMILIES

Yessssss! I actually had a piece about God’s plans, removed it just because the video was long enough. But, yes, his plans are always grand and better than I could imagine! We often don’t understand why things happen the way they do, until after…then we’re like ohhhhhhh, now I see God!🤍🤍🤍

Unfortunately road crossing is the more common fatalities. They often change course after you think they are gone. Friend lost his son that way with a double back in a pickup truck.
Btw, might want to test how stack draws. Could be half the reason they switched from wood to oil.

I learned a long time ago that sometimes God says no to our plans because he has bigger and better plans for us. I'm so excited for you and your new amazing adventure and the wonderful addition to your family. I can't begin to imagine the circumstances that would lead to this end result. But, I believe without any doubt you will be a huge blessing in this child's life, just as he is going to be in yours. Congratulations to all!
I have a drop leaf table and if u don't put some wings underneath it when u have them up they will bend and get weak from elbows resting.. But Joe can probably fix something but I would hang onto ur other 1.. Food for thought I hope this helps.. Keep up the good work can't wait to see ur other cabin..
An easy way to clean the glass on your wood stove is get a wet paper towel and cold ash from a previous fire and rub the glass with it. Use this as often as you need to get the glass clean. Then get another wet paper towel, clean the ash off, and polish the glass . Quick, easy and cheap

Just a suggestion. You could somehow hang a curtain behind the bunks to make the buckets disappear. Everything looks great though.
