What an honor to participate in the testing of the new limited edition. And very well deserved, for producing such an exceptional documentary. To make it available for free, online, is a sign of the many good things actually happening today - in a time where it is much needed. Thank you very much Kirby, what an excellent job by yourself and the whole team. Regards from Sweden.

Watching the videos of Kirby in Cuba is a bittersweet sentiment. I was born and raised in Cuba under a brutal dictatorship. I’m now an American citizen. I do like the videos but watching the Cuban people in these videos I can’t stop thinking that they are all currently starving due to the government that is as brutal as an axe. Much of my family is in Cuba still, so this is not just hearsay. Make no mistake, every Cuban you see in this videos is cursing the day they were born on that island, and yet we have Kirby unintentionally romanticizing their poverty.
Cubans were able to smoke their Cuban cigars until a handful of years ago, now they smoke none of the ones they used to like.

That is true. From Kirby's videos, I still see Cubans driving Russian LADA car from 80's. Cuba, similar to North Korea, is like frozen time capsule before the Perestroika.

The production level put on these videos are simply the best on RUclips, it's BBC+ level reportage. It's a shame the views are so low, but I get it, since the algorithm doesn't reward tobacco/nicotine videos and unfortunately probably puts in a 18+ category. God bless you Kirby for keep doing it, and providing the best cigar content on YT, the community salute you.

Kirby, I must say congratulations on the exceptional work you have done with these two captivating documentaries. Your commitment to shedding light on the lesser-known aspects of the cigar world is truly commendable. The Cuban cigar series was a remarkable exploration, and now with the well-documented history of Trinidad cigars, you have once again showcased your dedication to delivering authentic and insightful content. The depth of research and attention to detail in your films is truly impressive. I was blown away on the last scene, taking a puff of the Trinidad, savor it, pause, smile, put your fedora and then walk away from the camera, perfect. it made me imagine to go and walk with you and talk about life. Your ability to educate, entertain, and captivate audiences is a testament to your talent as a filmmaker. Keep up the fantastic work, Kirby! Greetings from Australia.

Yes! It is an interesting point to make that new world cigars, at least those I saw in the Dominican Republic, are not completely handrolled. A small machine is used to roll the filler and wrap it in the binder. Whereas with Cuban cigars, everything is done by hand... as it has been done since the beginning.

From an interview with Marvin Shanken and Fidel Castro...this is all a false lore:
Shanken: Trinidad. We understand that it is a brand of cigar that is your own personal brand, which you give to diplomats and friends as presents.
Castro: No. I principally give Cohibas for presents.
    Shanken: You don't give Trinidads?
Castro: No. I don't give Trinidads. I give Cohibas. [clipped discussion of new brands]
Shanken: The El Laguito factory has a brand called Trinidad, which they say is for you to give as personal gifts. It has become a legend.
Castro: I am not fully aware of that brand, but I assume it is like the Lancero in size from Cohiba.
Shanken: It is the same size, but with a little darker wrapper. Are you going to allow Cubatabaco to sell it?
Castro: I don't know about that cigar.

Yes, only 30 rollers in total rolling Trinidad... and 20 of them are the highest Level 9 category. Quite impressive when you think about it. Trinidad has really maintained it's original exclusivity since it's escaped the heavy commercialization that Cohiba and many of the other brands have undergone...
