Mate can I just say thank you so much for giving us your near exact set up on this. Love these type of videos and am a fuji shooter but often at a loss about the specifics of how certain things were achieved. Helps so much in understand and learning process. Top bloke.
Fair play mate, I'm gonna give street portraits a go soon, did a few the other day when I was out with the M-10 Monochrom but this is next level with the flash!
Brilliant photos Gareth. You looked like you had a great time. Really willing subjects who looked pleased with the shots you took. I look forward to seeing more x
Hi Gareth, very nice & enjoyable video...may I know how many stops is the ND filter you used? Thanks, I just want to try the same thing on bright sunny day.
Another great video Gareth, lots of good practical advice as usual, keep 'em coming. I just got my F8 mag today and had a quick thumb through it, excellent images again. Saving it to have a proper read later tonight.
@@GarethDanks I've got all six so far, it's great to see how differently we all view our surroundings and make the mundane look really cool. Of course I will get there eventually ;)
Pretty cool stuff. Loved the punks, haven't seen that style here across the pond in a long time. I'm not quite sure I understood the reason you used an ND. Typically is to slow down SS. Maybe I missed something in your explanation, will go back and watch it again. Loved the images though. Great video....
That was awesome! No wonder you was glad with the results! I think that was the first for anybody using flash. Some of those people looked as if the came straight out of a clothing mag...well done I enjoyed that!
I like to stay anonymous during street photography to much gear for me I've been asking other photographers to go to Camden Town to photography the famous punk you've do it great images of him the others to posed for my liking but fair play to you they obliged ✌
Nice one Gareth I knew from the thumbnail that you must have been with Gary as I saw his vid and shots of those guys previously. Bit of a faff carrying around that flash n gopro. To be honest I've never liked Flash photography.... its very.... ummmm... stiff. Everybody posing. Just my take on it. I much prefer natural light and natural scenes.

It’s amazing. I love it there. So funny Thanks so much mark 😊

Great vlog Gareth. Interesting subjects, the punks were brilliant. You must have enjoyed that.
Mohawk man rules the day!
He was cool! 😁
An enjoyable video... can't believe you took the photo of the girl eating 😂 but that was definitely the best shot.
Hi Gareth, very nice & enjoyable video...may I know how many stops is the ND filter you used? Thanks, I just want to try the same thing on bright sunny day.
thanks mate.. i think it was 8.. in another vid i used a variable but knocked it all over the place.. 8 should be fine
@@GarethDanks thanks mate, can you please post a link of your filter & flash? Thank you so much..
Great vid Gareth and BTW I can't find the viewfinder setting you mentioned on my X-T2 so I guess I can't make the adjustment??
ermmm it should be there.. look under screen setting, then exposure preview WB
@@GarethDanks - Brilliant Gareth - found it, many thanks DeeGee
Great video that made me inspired! I like using flash but use it only with my dslr. Should try it out with my xt-4 as well!

Thanks for watching mate. It’s because the max shutter is 1/250 for flash sync. Too bright without an nd 😊
@@GarethDanks Oh....that makes sense .. Thanks!

Thanks Des mate!! appreciate the kind comment.. the next vid is much better.. youll love that!! :-)
Hat off to ya for giving the flash a go while doing street, I've tried it myself in the past & yes it's a lot harder with flash than without. 👍
It’s definitely a challenge but really worth it. The next vids really cool 😊
Great video hope you gave the punk a tenner ?
Thanks Richard 😊
Very impressive street portraits. 👌👌
thanks so much Dennis! and thank you again for the mag purchase!
I enjoyed that , don’t know if I would use flash on strangers , did you warn them that it’s going to be flash photography.
Thanks mate. I’m holding a flash in their face haha. They’re welcome to say no of course 😊
You must have been there pretty early in the day for it to be that quiet!

Seems like it was really good fun. Wow, how Camden was empty. :o(
yes great fun mate! london is so dead all over! its so sad
ok... I think the first guy just pulled off a bank heist.
haha he really does!! 😂
It’s not a good look in this case, it’s looks artificial. To cold try using an 82B gel FILTER over the flash head. To warm up the Flash a bit.
