Can't believe how they keep getting away with repetition and going back on things: 1. Rhaenyra's vengeful line "I want Aemond Targaryen" was just the vengeful look at the end of S1E10 again. 2. Having Mysaria die in S1E9, only to bring her back for the sole purpose of admitting that finding Aegon was completely pointless, was weird tbh. Can't wait for episode 2.
It is nice to see at least one person who can have a critical view of the show. People are so desperate for the old feeling of game of thrones episodes (season 1-4) that they delude themselves that house of the dragon is a return to form. They pass of major changes, that ruin entire plotpoints, as minor adjustments. They make the Valerions black which ruins the bastard sub plot but also just cut Nettles entirely form the show, a character that is actually of darker skin with an interesting stroy. They change Criston Cole completely to such an extend that the moniker "King Maker" makes absolutely no sense. The changes to Blood and Cheese are no better and the biggest gripe i have with it is that people that try to defend it try to make it seem that people that dont like it are mad that the decapitation was not shown, when that is not even the problem for the majority of fans. People complain about the fact that Helena in the show feels 1. very numb and emotionless and 2. That the actual reason for her trauma, the fact that she had to choose which of her children should be killed and the result of that event was completely cut for no apperend reason.
Well said 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 as much as I love the franchise, I hate the weird pandering with a random black family...yet, they got rid of Nettles?! 🤯 make it make sense!
Meh I think it's not that deep, the book is explicitly written to be historically inaccurate so deviations from it arent that crazy, couldn't care less about the Velaryons being black it makes the cast easier to distinguish instead of half the cast looking like the same person, especially since GRRM signed off on it I also am not bothered by the muting of the blood and cheese incident, this whole episode emphasised the propaganda aspect of this entire story, I think it makes more sense that the real event is less over the top than the reported history as that is mostly Green leaning
I mean it is not that old of a show. I'd get your point if you were talking about Friends or something. But yes, RUclipsr have two modes: either it's the best tv show/game/movie of all time, or it is the worst. I guess that brings in the clicks and views but also ruins the discourse completely. As for Helena, she is is autistic and sees things before they happen but has no proper way to communicate this.
@@MaraJadeSkkythe valeryons are blk because it helps tell the family easily apart the way that can’t be done if it was done the same way as the books. Valaryians and valeryons are pronounced the same, same race and all have the same rare genetic features. Rhaneys could've stopped this whole thing 😡 And Helena's 'dragon dreams' are taking less and less time for a payoff; too on the nose. Also, oh look, we're introduced to a background character (Aegon's heir), surely he'll survive the episode... 😶 Edit: and Cristin Cole my god, it's been 10+ years and you're banging the queen. Sometime you need to get over Rhaenyra, kinda pathetic 🙄
It feels like things are starting to unravel a bit as much as I don't want it to happen. I feel like the blood and cheese thing will be a moment we look back on like what were they thinking. The original story is good. The change makes no sense. Can't wait to see what you have on episode 2. So many contrived conflicts that make little sense and aren't in the book.
Thank you so much for this! So good to see something other than how this show is just perfect. Keep up the good work, man! 😊 Oh and agree about Blood and Cheese. I didn't want to see explicit child murder, but I did want some emotional impact playing out to feel the weight of it all. Cutting the choice, and ending the scene with Alicent and Criston is ... urgghh
The connection you drew between Helaenas prediction with the trapping of the spider and the Velaryon boats capturing Mysaria is just too much. I mean that just can't be it right? Despite how the writers have let us down in the past, surely there's got to be more to her prophecy than that rather meaningless scene
I think Haelena's trapping of the spider in a sea shell is.... SPOILERS.... about Larys Strong and Corlys teaming up to take down the greens (which will happen much later in the series). The symbolism is that Larys gets killed because of this alliance; hence the sea shell 'trapping' the spider
The reason I thought the show's Son for a Son change was good was merely because there's no way to argue Daemon (and therefore Rhaenyra) was not a monster for the murder of Helaena's child as is suggested in the book. Which i think they handled quite artfully in E2. Making it a mistake really changed the tone of the entire conspiracy, and made it parallel the arguable similar change to Lucerys's death last season.
Yeah that much was clear. I just don't see the point in holding back on the monsters. Let both sides do awful things to one another, that's more impactful and heartbreaking anyway. All these misunderstandings and accidents (Alicent thinking Viserys wanting Aegon to be king, Vhagar killing Lucerys, Blood & Cheese killing the wrong son) diminishes the drama unnecessarily.
It wasn’t really a mistake, remember we didn’t see his full plan in the episode plus when rhae confronted him he kept saying that it was”was a mistake” meaning he made a mistake but making it seem like the people he hired made a mistake meanwhile he made a mistake by telling them to do that without thinking of the consequences
@GiveonKing I will have to rewatch, while he stated as much, I recall him being very clear on which son he was referring to (Alicent's, but Helaena's) - which explains why he seemed to feel nigh on guilty by E2.
Helena is autistic and I didn’t find the other line cringe at all. She was angry and heartbroken hence the intense crying and messy look. That was all she could say because she couldn’t think clearly, just anger, frustration and sadness while trying to force sternness
@@alvarogabrielaguirregarin3933 you don’t even know what that word is. Would you rather them explain everything to you? Ofcourse you have to explain the scene. This isn’t a book that simply tells you everything, the story has to be told visually through collaboration of the writers, directors and actors/actresses. Keep up

How they keep letting him near children is beyond me xD
